I had driven past Vietnamese House many times on my way to New Farm, a Brisbane suburb, and salivated about the culinary treasures it could house. As it's not near me, it would take a special occasion to go there, so on a recent Sunday mid-morning, around 11:30 am Pho Time, and hungry for Pho, we went. A side street carpark quickly quelled the anxiety of parking and we were through their doors and at a booth table soon after. Now, before rabbiting on, I must confess that we're pros at Pho and we generally judge our first fears on this dutiful dish against others we've tried and loved. And it's aghast. Similar price range, but lacking in bowl size, condiment bowls to add your own flavour pastes to, generous ingredients, free tea and more. If, and when, you find a favourite it's worth sticking to, as much as you'd like to share the cash around. But we'll stick with Ca Phe Nam and Pho An as our "go to's" for Pho. Pho now. read more
