Came here for the banh mi and we're not disappointed - fresh bread, generous portions of marinated meat, cilantro, and carrots. It's definitely worth the visit! read more

When I finally made it to the city I found myself at Pho Viet, what I think used to be Viet D'lish, the really tacky shop with the pictures and fluro paper signs everywhere. Pho Viet's exterior is modern, clean and minimalistic, maybe even a little too bare? I originally wanted Banh Mi but as the name of the shop is pho I thought I better give their main dish a try, I also got a Vietnamese Iced coffee. The food and drink were pretty swell, the pho was tasty and had just the right amount of noodles to beef/beef ball ratio and the iced coffee was delicious as always. Overall a very good and healthy alternative to a lot of the other trash being served in The Myer Centre, I saw that they also had the famous noodle salad and a chicken soup on their menu if you want to have a bit of variety.

Having appointments in the city around lunchtime means I get to sample a variety of food options…read more It can be challenging when faced with the traditional food court due to my gluten intolerance, but I've been finding more options of late. I approached the SUPER FRIENDLY people serving at Sing's Vietnamese Chargrill and asked straight out, "Do you have any gf options?" The lovely gentlemen proceeded to list 5 dishes off the menu and I was immediately in-love. I ordered the Massaman Curry with rice and a juice and paid a (comparatively) paltry amount. The bowl I picked up was HUGE. Like, as big as my head huge. It was packed with vegetables and crispy chicken with white fluffy rice. I struggled to get half way through before giving up as it really was wayyyy too much food. I was told the curry was mild but I found I had to get the rice / curry sauce ratio just right or else it had quite a kick. Keep in mind I have a sensitivity, spice-lovers would most likely agree it was mild. There are loads of tables around the food court but I recommend going with a friend so they can nab one while you wait for the food. Seats go VERY quickly in this space. Everything was bright and clean and service was extremely friendly. They also sell some of the cheapest bottles of water I have seen anywhere in Brisbane at $2 a bottle. BARGAIN!

Broth was remarkably clear and incredibly flavoursome and jam packed with noodles and beef. At $10 for the small including complimentary Chinese doughnuts for dunking in the broth it's a steal!

Their vietnamese basics are excellent - a great selection of rice paper rolls as well as salads and good pho - although I'd generally say their non-vietnamese selection (laksa etc) is average, good but not great. It can get quite busy around lunch time, but the queues move fast. If you're lucky you can get a seat and table in Rowes Arcade, which is far nicer than the Post Office Square food court, but even better is to head up to the Post Office Square park area and enjoy some sunshine on your lunch break.

The roll was very dry, there was barely any salad and the pork belly wasn't very crispy. It seemed to have been drenched in soy sauce which made it very salty. Our waiter went out of his way to make suggestions and brought us fresh chopped chilli without being asked. Unfortunately we had dinner there on a Friday night and the noise levels were incredible. We arrived without a booking and were seated upstairs next to a a table of people who were having a work function. This is probably a place to avoid on Friday and Saturday nights because it is so busy.

It was crowded but not full of people who were enjoying their food, it was more business and socializing. The staff was not welcoming at all. I did return to get some chicken pho takeout but they have a $20 minimum to use a card so I had to order a second dish. I got the wonton soup along with the pho (actually it's called noodle soup, not pho here). It was for a sick friend. He later told me that the broth tasted the same. It was fine for making him feel better, hot broth, but he wouldn't go back to have dinner there.
