Pine and Bamboo have been around for some time but deserve a visit for either a Chinese lunch or dinner. I would strongly recommend their Peking Duck pancakes followed by SAN Chow Bow but even the boring Sweet and Sour Pork is a winner amongst a huge range of specially crafted Chinese too. We ordered 2 course peking duck... the 2nd course was what I have always gotten.. the noodles. For those experienced in the peking duck tradition, the duck is carved and you wrap your pancakes with cucumber, shallot and hoisin sauce. Then the duck is taken away and the meat made into the various 2nd or 3rd courses. Well to my surprise, the duck noodles (2nd course) came out prior to the duck so they had used the meat of someone else's duck. When I questioned the waitress she said she would go ask and she never came back. We also asked to take the duck we ordered home so we could boil soup etc after all we had paid for the duck... when we got home, we noted not only was the duck raw inside, the meat was carved out and obviously used for someone else. While it pains me to share this review as I love peking duck I feel that a duck so raw could not have been that safe to eat even though the skin was crispy and with a heavy heart, I dont think I will be back for a while. Serving the 2nd course first also gives me the impression they have frozen duck meat ready to be added to the next courses which is peking duck blasphemy.
