Just like my ex girlfriend: light, cheap and easy.
HP lavender is a simple suburban restaurant out in the suburbs. No frills, no fuss.
The food was closer to Vietnamese home food rather than extravagant restaurant faire. Very little grease and very easy on the stomach but everyone at the table was more than satisfied.
The pho was not the best I've had in Brisbane but decent and did not skimp on the meat. $8 for a big bowl.
The honey chicken was something different, lightly battered and easy on the honey, a real highlight for me.
We also tried the chicken and cashew. Keeping in line with the theme, it was very good but light on the oil, making it quite refreshing.
This place really stretches your dollar. Nothing on the menu is more then 15$. My 6 people group were fed in $57.60.
Ample street parking and easy to get to from the M5 . read more
