The broth of the pho was delicious, albeit a little on the weak/watered down side. The Viet iced coffee (listed as iced white coffee) is strong and served in a sealed plastic cup. They have various Asian cold desserts (grass jelly!). The restaurant itself is clean and basic with ample seating for groups of 2-6. The staff are still finding their footing but are trying their best at providing efficient service. It's one of the nicer places to eat within Inala and still very cheap. Mid-week at lunchtime saw this place still bustling and almost at full capacity! I'd suggest it if you're ever in the area!

I've only eaten here twice, and only had a few dishes, but I can tell that the chef here knows his stuff and executes the dishes very well. My friend ordered a Com Do Ga Chien Gion (Crispy Chicken with Red Rice) and the chicken was cooked to perfection... succulent chicken with a nice thin crispy layer of skin over it. It just had a great delicious crispy texture to it. It was still crisp even after half an hour of being served. I've yet to see any other Vietnamese restaurant in Brisbane execute this technical dish so well. We had dinner there last time on a Friday night, but despite that there were only a handful of people there. Which just didn't make sense to me considering that the food was so good here. So, I'm going out of my way to promote this place and I hope you come and give this place go and help support it. I wouldn't want a nice place with nice food like this to go down simply because of location or lack of advertising. The only couple minor complaints I have is that some of the dishes might be a bit too salty like soup broth and also the portion sizes might be a bit too large and that a lot of people especially people with lower appetites would just end up throwing away most of their meal. Firstly, you know its genuine Vietnamese cooking because it's located in Darra - suburb of all things Vietnamese. Secondly, try their signature chilli crab which I guarantee will silence all sceptics. Just don't wear your best clothes, be prepared to get your hands dirty and leave your table manners at home. This is a dish that you have to suck, slurp and bite through to savour every last morsel. If you're not after extravagant seafood, their pho noodles, vermicelli salads and do-it-yourself hand rolls are equally tasty. In fact, we have a rule whenever we dine here to try at least one new dish and we've never yet been disappointed. Take a look at my uploaded photos saved over many meals at Que Huong but be warned. My brother told me of a new yum cha place in Darra called Maxim and I had to check this out. Not only did this mean I wouldn't have to make that long drive into Sunnybank anymore, it meant that I could have yum cha and get my grocery shopping done too (literally next door). The restaurant looks like it used to be a used karaoke hall and it's not that clean by any means. It looks ultra daggy and the tables and chairs aren't that great. The menu is usually a bit sticky, I know what you're thinking. The yum cha comes out piping hot. They have some trolleys with food on them coming around during peak lunch times, but usually you can order straight from the menu so it's cooked fresh. The owner is a lady who likes to give young kids free juice and you are also provided with free chinese tea, always a bonus. My husband and I go there with our two kids, and our bill always averages $25-$30 and we are pretty hungry when we get there, and pretty damn full when we leave, which does tell you one thing. For all you Darra fiends out there, the My Friend guy... works here too on top of the other 2-3 places he works. If you go to Darra for vietnamese cuisine a lot, you'll know what I mean. Non the less, not wanting to be a downer we proceeded with dinner plans at Maxims. Turns out they are a yum cha style restaurant and at that, a pretty good one. The food here is really tasty and great value for money. Since my first visit we've been here a number of times to order from their yum cha and from their ala carte menus and we've also attended a birthday function here. This place is a fantastic choice to host a celebration if you like a combination of good food and karaoke entertainment. Definitely a winner in my karaoke-loving heart!
