Returned for another mani & pedi, this time no no-chip manicure and the store manager, Tim, was very accommodating and because of him I will be back. My technician did an okay job on the pedi but my mani was very unsatisfactory. There were gaps with my nail polish just below my cuticles and I really didn't feel like walking out unsatisfied so I asked if the 2 fingernails could be redone and if the excess polish could be removed on my other fingers. My technician was already working on someone else so another lady came and started repainting when Tim came right to my table apologized and redid the entire manicure. The color I picked was hard to work with because it was suede but Tim quickly and efficiently repainted all 10 fingernails and they were perfect. I was so happy that I said something. To be fair it was very busy for a Tuesday evening and they only had 4 people working. Thanks to Tim, I will be back for services. read more

I am incredibly happy to have Vie's nails open again, and was pleasantly surprised to see the renovations and sanitary upgrades since I was here last. The salon has always been sparkling clean and organized, but the fresh coat of paint, new spa chairs and nail technician stations have given it a complete face lift. They have also put in all the necessary precautions to ensure the safest environment for both their staff and clients. Vie's nails always does a fantastic job whether it is a regular mani pedi or no chip manicure (which truly never chips). Every technician takes their time and the result is always perfection. This place is great! It isn't fancy and you won't get pampered but their prices are very reasonable for what you get. I usually get a no-chip manicure and a pedicure every once in a while. They really take their time to do their services and their no-chips are the best I have had anywhere. My nails are pretty perfect when I leave. People are nice but straight forward and hard-working. They stay open late ALL the time for people. I have seen people walk in right when they are supposed to close and they still take them. I highly recommend this place! read more

Oh, Vie's. I've been here a few times, but I had taken a hiatus for a while. I had decided that I could no longer pay someone to paint my nails because I am not enough of a lady to keep them nice. But with my bachelorette party a few hours away and my best friend in town, a little prettifying was definitely in order. I arrived first, and though I tried to tell the staff that I was waiting for someone, they insisted that I start immediately. My BFF arrived a few minutes later, fresh from a 5.5 hour drive, and sat next to me. The massage chairs were new since our last visit, and we were enjoying being prodded gently. And then something curious happened. The massaging "hands" of the chair worked their way down our backs, around our hips and sweet asses, until we each felt a gentle prod or two in a very delicate area. Both of our mouths dropped open, and I began giggling uncontrollably. I'm not sure if the chair was designed this way, but I'm fairly confident that it wasn't simply a result of the way I was sitting. My BFF is a full 3 or 4 inches short than me, and she felt it too. I love Vie's - you can't beat the $32 mani/pedi special Monday-Wednesdays! The owners and staff are very friendly and I very rarely have to wait before getting seated during the week. My only words of advice are to tell them not to cut your nails down too short (or just file down) - I think they have a tendency to go too short if you don't tell them otherwise. Also, for the people who say their manicures didn't last, try purchasing a bottle of clear polish for home and apply a coat or two the day after your manicure. I love this place and am delighted I live in this neighborhood to be able to come here as often as I do. For a well done mani/pedi, it's only $35 (Mon-Wed) and it lasts! Pedi's are supposed to be relaxing, in a friendly and cozy environment. Vie's Nails is definitely NOT the definition of friendly OR cozy. Maybe we were there on an off day, but...probably not. The layout itself is odd and the chairs don't work that well, really. My poor friend looked incredibly dejected because she wasn't fond of any of the massage settings. I suppose that the tech did a nice on my nails, but she wasn't necessarily friendly throughout any of it. Plus, I'm Asian and I have a knack for knowing when people are talking ish about you in another language. Therefore, I didn't appreciate the looks that my friend and I got from these people. Blah. Jimmy does my shellac/gel mani every three weeks and has for months. No chipping, your nails are 100% dry by the time you leave and the price cannot be beat. Downtown the same service is $40 but it comes with significant attitude and less lively chat. I used to get a regular mani a few times a year because I could barely walk out of a salon without a scratch or chip. Shellac/gel/no chip/whatever you want to call it, has changed my life. I'm sold. This place is kind of gross. Three of us went in to get pedicures and manicures on a Monday. There were wet towels wadded up on the floor next to the pedicure chair basins. I got a bad vibe. The pedicure was ok... I could've done the same thing at home. They did have a good polish selection and did a good job on my manicure. I visited after reading the positive reviews but left somewhat disappointed. Thankfully the reviewer who said there is no leg massage was wrong, but it was the shortest massage I've ever gotten for a pedicure. I also haven't gotten a pedicure in a few months and feel that the pumice portion was also too fast. I left and still had rough spots on my heels. In summary: The good: cheap and nice chairs The bad: too short of a massage and too short for the pumice stone. Overall, not really what I'd consider a relaxing treat. I went in on a Friday night at 6:00 p.m. (they close at 7:00) and they got me in for a mani/pedi. It was SO super cheap, which I loved, but it didn't last long. To be fair, I asked them to use my favorite bottom/top coat, which I brought with me, so that may have lead to the bubbling. I will try them again and let them do their thing before I rule them out. The mani/pedi was $35 and seems to be available every day of the week, which is rare. Everyone was really nice and they let me wait inside while I waited for my husband to pick me up. My friend has been going here for a while and today was my very first visit. Hands down the best pedicure I've ever had. They took extra time on my cuticles and that is my favorite part of getting my nails done. Some people prefer to chat with their nail person but I do not and they didn't force conversation on me. Such a casual and relaxed atmosphere, and the technicians are always efficient, communicative, and kind. Customer service means a lot to them and it shows. Call ahead and let them know you're coming. I've only experienced a wait on weekends, but I feel like it's best to play it safe and call since they are such a popular place. I always get the no-chip manicure and it lasts FOREVER (3 weeks until it's grown out for me). In the rare case it doesn't last (like today for example when I noticed a chip in two nails after doing manual labor the night before), I went in and they touched up the chips and put a new coat on all my nails free of charge because they knew I was going on vacation. So kind! They take credit cards, but no line to tip on the cc slip. So try to bring cash to show your appreciation for the great work these people do! read more

Welll..... my cuticles got sliced and diced. My tech drew blood, and had absolutely zero clue what an ombré was. It's clear they do a lot of gel and dip manicures and aren't accustomed to acrylics. I live in the neighborhood and have been looking for a no chip mani and pedi place. I see Tim and he's amazing! Super friendly, uses clean tools, repaired my nail after it was bruised and uneven, he takes his time, is good conversation but not too chatty if you don't want to chat and my nails last a solid 3 weeks. Obviously there's outgrowth but the polish stays fresh and has never chipped. I'd highly recommend this place, especially if you live in the neighborhood! There's free street parking or pay to park on Lincoln, walk ins are welcome but if you want a specific person, especially Tim, I'd call ahead.
