However, I've been getting treatments like PRF, Endolift, Botox, and fillers for years, and I have never had this kind of reaction before. I had a couple of previous appointments at this place without any issues. However, this time what really stood out to me was the lack of acknowledgment. At no point did anyone take responsibility or address the possibility of improper hygiene practices. I also did not see the preparation of the vials. Usually, providers show you where the product is coming from to build trust, but that was not the case here. I do want to say that the nurse was very kind and professional, and I appreciate that. However, my skin reaction was not minor,it was severe and, in my opinion, the result of poor practice. I am knowledgeable about post-care, as I work in the healthcare field as a Registered Dietitian and I am currently pursuing my Master's in Nursing. I understand how critical proper hygiene is before and after any procedure. By March 19, I reached out because my skin was looking very concerning,acne-like with rosacea, something I had never experienced even as a teenager. They did respond, which I appreciate, scheduled me, and during that time I told them I had already been taking Benadryl, and they advised me to continue taking it. However, they were not transparent about the possibility that this could be an infection. Because I value second opinions, I went to see a dermatologist, who diagnosed me with a reaction and infection. I shared the prescribed medications with them since they told me they would follow up with me, but that follow-up never happened. I sent two additional emails and did not receive a response. I am not expecting anything at this point, but I did expect at least an acknowledgment or an apology. It is very distressing not knowing if your face will return to normal or how long you will have to deal with the aftermath of a situation like this.

I took my first trip to The Village Cutting Room yesterday and was very impressed. I got a Bloomspot deal for waxing and Kasia was amazing. The place was buzzing with hair and mani/pedi clients, but the waxing room was discreet and as pleasant as possible. Since my Bloomspot coupon covers three bikini waxes, I already made my April and June appointments, but I definitely plan on becoming a long-term client of Kasia's. Great place for waxing in Roscoe Village.

Her mani/pedis are top notch and I love the privacy of the her little corner in the back of the spa. She doesn't use one of those vibrating chairs that poke my back in odd places. She has this completely relaxing ambiance and everything is hyper-clean. She is fastidious about the hygiene of her materials -- and I notice. Additionally, Linh gives the BEST quality mani/pedis and her prices are reasonable. When she has a special ($30 mani/pedi & $25 no-chip mani), you will not find a better deal, and you certainly will not find better service. She's super quick to respond to my texts about scheduling appointments, and I like how she takes her time when she does my nails. I always know I'll have a fab mani/pedi when I leave the Village Cutting Room!

Winter is always tough for me - my skin gets dehydrated but is also prone to clogs, and Carly really helped me get everything cleared and calmed before the big day! She is just the nicest person - she took the time to explain everything that she wanted to use in the facial to me, and made me feel very comfortable. My skin looked clearer and brighter after the treatments, and the whole experience is so relaxing! I love that working with a small business you know your esthetician has lots of experience, and you have the opportunity to see the same person every time and really build a relationship. I'm so glad I found Carly, and will definitely be seeing her again!

The reviews that mainly caught my eye were about Carly so I scheduled a facial with her. I later realized I scheduled it a week further out than I wanted to so I called to see if I could be seen sooner. They texted me back saying they had an opening the day I needed but they didn't say it wouldn't be with Carly. I guess I should've confirmed this but when I specifically requested her I assumed I would automatically be booked with her. I was booked with Jessica instead. When I arrived at 12:25 she greeted me at the door and immediately took me to the facial room. Her consultation was very quick and brief. We began the facial at 12:35 and she was finished by 1:22 so I did not receive a full hour facial. Any skin issues I mentioned to her she just repeated back to me when she was examining my face. I would've liked if she had walked me through the facial process step by step. Everything she put on my face was a mystery. The massage wasn't the most relaxing. My neck was tense the entire time. And while masking I just laid under the infrared light while she sat behind me silently. Almost every facial I've had elsewhere I have received a hand or scalp massage while I masked. Also the music was absolutely horrid. It was not relaxing spa music. It was more like boppy coffee shop music during the entire service. My face felt a bit tight afterwards and Jessica did not give me any product recommendations which bummed me out because I was really hoping to take something new home. Being in this industry myself this was not how I would've given the service. Overall I would not go here again.

First, I'd like to say that I suffer from anxiety, so I try to avoid confrontation and not create…read moreissues. I went to VitalitySpaClub on 2/22 and was serviced by Galina. From the moment I walked in, she was very professional and polite. This was my first ever facial and she was clean, thorough, and attentive. This is a review of how horribly they handle complaints of any kind, even to the point of disrespecting customers. I left her table heavily moisturized and went home. The next day comes, and my skin is very dry, puffy, and sallow. Galina had advised me to moisturize 2-3x a day and avoid my lactic acid, so I did. For the next week, my skin texture was off. My skin felt prickly, raised, and gray-ish. My previous glow was gone, my skin was VERY dry, and my texture was dull. I went back to my routine and my skin hadn't perked up. I felt like I wasted a lot of money, because I wasn't expecting dramatic results but just something positive for my skin. I texted Galina about my thoughts almost a week later on Thursday, 2/27. She advised that she had only done a simple cleansing facial with sensitive products, extractions, and LED light (which does hurt) and she was confused why I contacted her because I was so happy leaving. She then insisted if I have any other concerns, then to call the manager. What I was looking for from her was skincare advice to help restore my skin, but I guess I could call and ask them? So I called the manager, and the entire thing was weird from the beginning. I had never called this place before (I booked with Booksy) but as soon as someone picked up, she immediately asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. So they were expecting my call? That made me feel uncomfortable immediately. I was put on the line with the manager, who bluntly just asked me what the problem really was and if I wanted a refund. I didn't say yes because that's not why I contacted Galina, this wasn't supposed to be a huge thing. I was more disappointed than anything and I figured I could ask a licensed esthetician for skin advice for other products I could buy to help renew my skin. He then promptly told me they only use one skincare product, PCA, and that he can't help with much else. At this point I felt embarrassed for even calling. The line immediately cut to Galina, who I guess was listening the whole time, and she just started talking. She kept insisting she only used gentle products, PCA has the best reviews and awards, she didn't understand, she really only gave me a massage, what did I want?, did I want to come in for a free facial?, did I want free sample products?, they only work with PCA so they can't suggest anything else, she would work with me personally regarding anything I needed. If that sounds cluttered to you, imagine me on the other line. I felt overwhelmed and asked her if I could just contact her later. She said okay, then we hung up. This is where things get really weird. I didn't call angrily or confrontational in the first place. I didn't threaten or demand anything. Galina texted me a half hour after the phone call to tell me she was suspended for one month because this was her first infraction, and that if I wanted service when I called back, I'd need a new esthetician, and that if she ever gets another complaint, she'd be fired. All of this was completely unprompted and I was like wtf. I felt so guilty that me simply calling and being disappointed in the facial got her suspended! Then I wondered why I was even being sent this in the first place, and I didn't respond because what was I supposed to say to that? I decided to attempt to call back the next day on 2/28 to speak to the manager, apologize for all of this happening, and ask for Galina to have her position back because this wasn't her fault. I tried calling VSC and my call went straight to voicemail. I asked my boyfriend to try the number and he said a woman picked up, so they blocked my number. For what, I have no idea. I don't understand, if I only wanted my money back, I would have asked in the first place, and even if I DID want it, that's no excuse to block a customer from contacting you. I told them originally I didn't want to feel like a problem customer, and I felt so embarrassed by all of this and felt like I got nothing out of reaching out when I had an issue except ganged up on and blocked. That day I emailed them and asked for a refund at this point. This was all blown out of proportion and their responses have been unprofessional. They haven't responded to the email or sent my money back. They have a lot of good reviews so they must do a lot right, but this wasn't it at all. 3/25 EDIT: Today alone the manager has put so much energy into personally messaging me here on Yelp to attack my mental health more (which I reported), falsifying reviews, reporting my pictures to be deleted, marking my review as funny, and lying in his response. Sad. But you all can see this review and that's all that matters.
