What a gem in Raleigh! These guys are serious about chocolate! They take pride in the production of quality treats while supporting sustainable fair trade in the chocolate bean industry. They source and produce single origin chocolate, each region with it's own very distinct taste. Some have natural blueberry, others cherry and others raisin/plum. Ask for a free tasting at the counter and taste the differences for yourself! You can take a free self-led tour anytime or sign up for a low cost guided tour. We took a self guided tour and they make it easy to follow along. There are QR codes at each station that provide text and videos. The chocolate is truly exceptional tasting. It isn't the most inexpensive option, but if you appreciate chocolate, this knocks the socks of store bought chocolate, even the higher end varieties at a typical food market. There is an attached coffee shop that serves chocolate drinks made with their chocolate. I highly recommend going their and ordering a sipping chocolate...it's heavenly! read more

The tour was self guided and we were told you could "sample all the bars." Well we completed the tour and asked the girl behind the counter if they had samples and she was actually quite rude and spoke to us as if we were stupid for having more questions. We got one sample and she didn't answer our questions. Can honestly say I wouldn't go back. Rather go buy nice chocolates from someone who acts like they want my business. read more

Super cute building inside and out. They even let you peek in the back where they make the chocolate, which is cool! The building looks so big from the outside so I totally expected a lot more options than just a dozen pieces of chocolate to choose from. And on top of that, a box of 8 (!!!) chocolates is almost $30. While it was delicious, be prepared to spend an arm and a leg. read more

This place is so busy you'll be lucky to find a seat outside. It's a split business with coffee shop on the other side. Videri is on the right serving $$$ non-coffee drinks - soft-serve, confections/ chocolates and other trinkets. You can get a sample (smaller than Kisses, maybe 1/3 of it) if you answer the questionnaire about stuff you'll find inside the museum, which is at the back portion of the building. Imagine doing a u-shape walk in a small room with frames on the wall. There wasn't a production when we came, would have been sweet! Kind of didn't feel as welcoming because they all looked plain and somehow serious (maybe tired at noon-ish). Would I recommend for first-timers? Yes, if you are already in the area. I'll definitely be back in Raleigh but 50/50 if I want to bring guests there again. Also, we walked to the factory from the Capitol but there's parking around the area since there are other food spots too. read more

You know that you are in a chocolate store when you walk in. It smells heavenly! We wanted to do the self-guided tour of the chocolate factory. It was a little confusing when we walked in and we didn't know where to go. There was a crowd of people when we walked in but then we realized that they are waiting to buy chocolates or get samples. We figured out where to go for the tour. The "tour" was literally less than 5 minutes unless you scanned the QR codes that were posted on the windows at each station and watched the videos. (I missed the QR codes for Steps 2 & 3.) We came in a Sunday and no one was working in the factory. Maybe it would have been a little more interesting if there was activity going on back there. We had to pay $5 for an hour of parking. We were disappointed because it wasn't how we envisioned the tour would be. read more

Delicious chocolate! I got a chocolate turtle to-go and thoroughly enjoyed it at my house later. The employees are helpful and there's a nice little shop area where you can find things other than chocolate. I'd like to come back one day and try the frozen hot chocolate from the coffee shop, unfortunately it was closed when we went. read more

I'm not the biggest chocolate fan so my main purpose of visiting Videri was to buy souvenirs for my family. Nevertheless, the samples got me. We went up to the counter to sample the chocolate bars and the samples came in the form of chocolate chips. I ended up loving them. I bought the 70% classic dark chocolate as a souvenir and the 55% dark milk vesta for myself because of the slight spicy kick that it had. The whole place smelled amazing because they have the chocolate factory in-house and you can even take a tour of it. I wasn't in the mood for coffee or desserts but they have a small cafe where you can sit down and enjoy a variety of bonbons or soft serve made from their chocolate. Parking is 2 hours free with validation and the workers were all very kind so I recommend stopping by for a visit if you're a chocolate lover. read more

Chocolate factory & store in the Warehouse District of downtown Raleigh. What a sweet surprise! We went downtown just to check it out while we were visiting. I just so happened to see that there was a chocolate factory!! There is a self-guided tour, a coffee shoppe (indoor & outdoor seating), and a case filled with chocolate for you to pick from. My husband asked if they carried Dubai chocolate since it's going viral right now! And they had a bar they make in-house out of their chocolate and their pistachio-tahini paste and crunchy, shredded kataifi - it was worth every last penny of the $17 we spent!! There was a thick amount of pistachio!! It was so good that we were ready to buy another. Thanks for a wonderful experience Videri! read more

A must-see spot in Raleigh! The chocolate was incredible high quality. We loved the self-guided factory tour and learning more about how the chocolate is sourced/made. Staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly, and we loved the opportunity to try samples! Such a charming environment and great spot for coffee with friends or studying. You must get their mocha - they used their fresh chocolate to make it! read more

first time coming in and the chocolate was pretty good! they make them in house which is neat. staff were friendly and welcoming. the environment was that of a coffee shop. i liked the lemon chocolate the most. the others were good but a little too rich for my taste. the ice cream with toffee was probably my favorite. soft served ice cream with crunchy bits of toffee. it is on the pricey side but i still enjoyed my experience and the food items nonetheless. the outdoor seating is nice and is dog friendly. read more

Bottom line: Videri Chocolate Factory is worth a look-see. Chocolates, coffee in a cafe, ice cream, and merchandise are available. Delicious chocolate was sampled here and the self guided factory tour with answering the quiz questions along the way to get a little chocolate reward is a pretty nifty way to get to know them. Premium chocolate=premium price. The Deets: I had a chance to visit Videri Chocolate Factory before heading over to dine out in downtown Raleigh. I really cannot believe I have not popped into here before now. The Videri in the name comes from the North Carolina state motto "Esse Quam Videri" or "to be rather than to seem" in English. There's kind of an old school flair to the aesthetic that lets it blend into the Warehouse District look well. Parking in that area beyond the paid lot next to it can be a challenge as always. Once inside, there's a lot to take in with the chocolate available as well as coffee shop, ice cream, and Videri merchandising items for sale. Once inside, you can take the self-guided tour of the factory which we did and answering the list of questions given along the way with a promise of a chocolate treat prize at the end when answering all of them. I liked this part of answering the questions to learn more about the process and Videri itself. We did get our prize, pretty tasty bite-size piece of chocolate candy with sprinkles on it. There is a display where their samples are offered in small packs as well a display of what chocolate candies are available for purchase. If it is premium chocolate then expect a premium price. The staff we interacted with were nice and informative. It was definitely worth the stop in to check out Videri Chocolate Factory and I'd like to do so again soon. read more

Nothing spectacular.. we got the swirl cone and the Oreo sundae.. the fudge on the sundae was the better part other then that nothing great.

What a fun place! Protip - before you come here, make sure you follow the instructions on the website regarding getting your parking validated. If you don't, they won't. When you come in, it has a over the counter service feel with a cafe feel on the other side. When it comes o the chocolate, you're allowed to try samples as long as you keep the mini cup they give you. If you don't do this, you're totally missing out on the biggest part of the experience! :) Another thing you need to do is to walk forward to the self-help guide that has videos, explanations, and fun tips about the chocolate process. And while we were there we of course had to try the coffee.... it's about as exquisite as you'd expect. If you're in the area this is definitely a place to visit! We were nearby on a very well deserved date night and I saw this place had soft serve (especially twist!) Now, new to the state we have not found soft serve down here yet. Would definitely recommend and we may grab some chocolates to send back to MN for Christmas gifts of some NC chocolates!!!!!! Great little spot. read more

When's the last time hot chocolate made you swoon?! If the answer is never, look no further than Videri Chocolate Factory. Once I had it, I thought of it often. The delicious, unmistakable aroma of rich chocolate greets you at the door. Stroll up to the chocolate counter where you'll struggle to select just one bon bon. Buy a four-pack. At the cash register, you spy a fundraiser for abortion access. These are my people. Go to the café counter to grab your hot chocolate. Oohhh, at last. Warm, rich, smooth, velvety. Quality Chocolate is like fine wine and pairs well. Videri brings this unique experience of chocolate tasting to Downtown Raleigh. I enjoyed our visit this afternoon and intend on coming back. They offer free chocolate samples, a cute coffee bar, patio and ice cream !!!!!! Perfect for a cute date night. The service here was excellent. We sampled a few of the chocolate flavors sea salt, Colombian walnut, and a new personal favorite the Dark Milk crunch spicy vesta chocolate. Infused with habanero and scotch bonnet peppers ! I took this one home at $9. I donated my change to the local Women's Center where I have volunteered at in the past. I'm sure you're reading this, accustomed to buying chocolate for a dollar. I decided to visit the Videri Chocolate Factory following a recommendation from a friend. I have to say that my friend was right, this place is wonderful! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their products. I learned quite a bit about cocoa nibs during my chocolate bar tasting experience. As I waited for my order, I felt that the decor is welcoming. I was especially surprised to see a disco ball. It added a little sparkle to the ambience. I chose to try the sand cup and I have to say it didn't disappoint. The sand cup includes vanilla soft serve, toffee, delicious granola and caramel sauce. The granola was my favorite part of the sand cup. Videri also has a dirt cup, if you prefer chocolate over vanilla. I will be visiting this location again! read more

I visited this chocolate factory yesterday as part of my Mother's Day celebration. This was my first time visiting this factory. It seems to be quite popular as there were lines to buy chocolate as well as lines to buy coffee. It's a bit small inside, and it was crowded yesterday. The chocolate was rich and there were a variety of different tasty flavors. What I enjoyed most about this visit, however, was that they allow their customers to tour the actual chocolate factory. Although the factory workers were off during the weekend, it still gave me a good idea of what happens and equipment that is used. read more

I can't speak for the sit down experience or the tour. The inside was a typical coffee shop plus a small section to purchase small goods and chocolate. You can sample some of the chocolate on display. A lot of dark chocolate varieties, 75%. We got some to take home. Service was great, the workers were friendly. The coffee shop , prices are reasonable. My iced latte, oatmilk with brown sugar cinnamon was delicious. I love it when i can taste the espresso. It was very good. There's an outside patio that has a garden feel. They also validate parking. read more

Videri Chocolate is delicious. I loved that there were so many variations and being able to select my favorite cacao percentage that I enjoyed the most. The assortments of chocolate were also nice to see and know in preparation for future visits. The staff here are nice and professional. I was offered a tasting where I could taste the chocolates before purchasing. Tasting the chocolates elevated the experience, especially when spending $8 for quality chocolate. I can't wait to return to try the vegan fudgesicles perfect for a hot summer day. It was nice to see the inside finally and where chocolate was made. There is some history and knowledge here. I can see how the brand, from bean to bar, has become a great place for the best-handcrafted chocolate in Raleigh. I want to add that I tried a slice of Apple bourbon rum cake (I believe that's the name) from the Black & White Coffee at Videri Chocolate Factory, and the cake was also very delicious. We went for the factory tour and stayed for the ice cream. The factory was closed when we went so we didn't get to experience the actual chocolate making process but they did have QR codes at each station that link to YouTube videos of the live action. It might have been a cool experience if it was happening when we were there but the stations weren't set up in a way that makes the tour worth it on a day they don't work. Awesome chocolate shop and factory - you can take a quick self-guided tour of the factory part, but it's more of a chocolate store/ice cream shop. I tried the soft serve, and got some bonbons and a bar to enjoy later. The ice cream was excellent; I ordered a vanilla/chocolate swirl with hot fudge in a cone. We hit this spot up for a Chocolate Factory tour and some ice cream after lunch, but there was a huge storm that rolled in that cancelled everyone's desire to get out of the car. Not for me, of course I went inside to grab some items to go and was greeted by a fairly knowledgeable associate who helped me pick out some chocolates to go. Their offerings are on the pricey side and they specialize in dark chocolate, so the lack of low percentage cocoa milk chocolate (I bought a 55% cocoa milk chocolate bar, still too dark for them lol) eliminated most of my families interest, however I am a big fan of dark chocolate so I was all in. I was not a fan of the bon bons which come in servings of four, I tried several flavors and found them to be boring and flavor wise dominated by cocoa. I was expecting more balance and the flavors stated on the box were dull. I have yet to make the hot cocoa mix, but was a big fan of them having it for sale and the price seemed fair. The chocolate bars so far have been very tasty if you can tolerate a high percentage of cocoa in your dark chocolate. The inside and bathroom was clean, but sadly their retail area was "under construction for a relaunch". I peeked in and it looked ready to me. It was nice to walk around and see their small operation creating tasty chocolate. Freshly made chocolate is always a welcoming smell too! They share their inside with a coffee company so check them out as well. read more
