    Mold on strawberry's
    Nayo M.

On Saturday we bought two strawberries from this place and to our surprise they had mold. So I called the owner and I was told that I had to leave my number so I did, later around 7:30 PM this lady called me back with a very defensive attitude to the point that I had to hung up on her. She kept calling and harassing me. She could not apologize and offer a replacement or a simply sorry would have done it. All I wanted was for her to know that selling this was outmost disgusting and that she need it to keep an eye on the fruit, but she became an uncivilized creature so I rather tell the world. Buyers be careful when buying from this place.

Lovely little shop full of chocolate! Every direction you turn you see a variety of sweet treats. The shelves and tables are packed with items, which brings back positive childhood memories of walking into candy stores. Even working with a small space and a lot of stock, they keep the store clean and organized. Most of the items are labeled so it is easy to find something you will like. It is pricy, although this was expected since they are a chocolate boutique. They do not post prices. Regarding COVID-19, all customers and employees were wearing masks. That being said, none of the three employees were wearing masks when we arrived, but they did put masks on shortly after we walked in. Luckily most of the items are packaged/covered. Hopefully the employees know they should be wearing masks when packaging and making the items. We enjoyed the items purchased and would stop by here again after the pandemic if in the area.

If you're looking for a unique experience to have a birthday part or a ladies get together, I highly suggest reserving the place for a private chocolate making party. We did exactly that and there was about 16 of us. We did have to put down a deposit. You have to have at least 4 people to book the party and they have 3 different choices. We reserved the Belgian Package ($176 for 4 people). We also chose to order pizza's through them and they had them delivered. We made a lunch time reservation. During the event you will each get to make chocolates with their molds and to take home at the end. They have lots of tasty treats for you to eat as part of the package. It's really such a fun experience, I highly recommend it.

We went here as part of the wine festival today and the truffles are incredible. I love chocolate and I've tried a lot of different kinds but these are seriously some of the best I've had if not the best I've had. I liked that they had some that were out of the box and not typical of regular shops. The shop itself was also really cute and offered a lot of different accessories and trinkets. I would love to come back for a chocolate making class here.

Have you ever drove 45 minutes out of your way just satisfy a craving? Well I have... The Chocolate Boutique is home of North Carolina Chocolate Bacon! Its home grown local cured bacon wrapped in the Boutiques signature milk chocolate. There are so many awesome things to pick up here. I was recently at the Boutique for a social event. Emily was our host for the night. She was amazing at showing us all how to make chocolate. We had way to much fun. Book your party, ladies night or even team building event here! If you into wine and fine beverages, you can find that as well. I found the entire shop to be a great mixture of everything. There are even some awesome gift buys inside of the store as well! Check them out! 5STARS as this facility is spick and span, the customer service was world class and the chocolate is AMAZING!

This place looks and feels like Tiffany's but instead of jewels being in those glass cases, it's the next best thing....chocolate!!! The thing I love most, other than the chocolate about this place, is the decor. There is Tiffany blue everywhere with chandeliers and a subtle lighting that makes you want to hang out a while....just like Tiffany's. I went to visit it after receiving a gift box of chocolate from here. I had to see with my own ees what this place was like. Luckily, it is in the Lafayette Vllage shopping area so it was convenient to Wake Forest. The owner studied at Ecole Chocolate and admits that her goal is to bring the elegance of chocolate from Europe, right here to NC! There is a wide variety of chocolates for gifts, indulging for yourself, or to make a sweet dessert at one of the restaurants at Lafayette Village. There are truffles with chocolate with a lemon center that were TO DIE for!!! Same with the irish cream, the signature chocolates, and many other chocolate treats. I was told they also do chocolate parties where you and a group of friends can come in, have wine, and make chocolate! Who can beat that?? NO ONE!

    Dark chocolate with sea salt!

The girl in the shop was super helpful. I told her it was my first time there, and she let me try a couple samples before making a purchase. I ended up going with her recommendation of the dark chocolate with sea salt. Those are "When Harry Met Sally" restaurant-scene good. I highly recommend! My only recommendation for this shop is to invest in some candy boxes. They would make great gifts to people, but they put them in a little clear plastic bag with a sticker to seal them. But if they had 6-pc/12pc/20pc boxes to create your own mix, they would look more presentable to bring to someone's house. Just a thought from an out-of-towner who was looking to purchase a gift.

I was in Lafayette Village on Friday and decided to stop by the Chocolate Boutique. My initial plan was not to buy anything, just to see what they have, but the delicious smell and the fantastic chocolate creations won me over. I bought a small 1/4 lb. bag of tiramisu cordials and little Limoncello bonbons (lemon white chocolate and marzipan) for about $5 each. I figure either I could spend $10 and get 4 bites of their more expensive truffles, or I could spend $10 and get something like 40 bites of their little bagged chocolates. I think I got the better deal. The limoncello is pretty good, but the tiramisu cordials are amazing. Definitely worth every cent of that $20 a pound. I'd like to come back again someday to see if their truffles are really worth $2.50 each, but unfortunately being on the NW side of Raleigh, it's a bit of a long drive for me. If I'm ever in the area again though, I'll definitely pick up a bag of those tiramisu cordials.

I just love that they are truly bean to bar (you can literally watch them sit and sort the beans, grind them, make the chocolate and all other steps of the process). The staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient -- and while prices are a tad higher than your basic chocolates, they are reasonable for the high quality of premium treats you are going to get Just an additional thing I did not mention in my previous review: Their packaging is also great. Not only do they print off the individual names of chocolates you got if you make a box, there is a QR code which when you scan, takes you to the visual and descriptive online guide of all their flavors. Highly, highly recommend, and cannot see any reason why I would not make efforts to continue returning!

I walked in and asked for a…read morecoffee with citrus in it...my husband had remembered a drink he ordered there and asked me for it and that was the best way I knew how to say it. The lady behind the counter (middle-age, petite, long brown ponytail under a hat) scrunched up her nose at me and said..."we have lavender...that's the closest thing we have to citrus." She looked at me like I had two heads, but we went back and looked at old menus and saw it on there. It was an espresso with orange juice. Anyways, I changed the order and asked for a brown sugar cinnamon latte instead and when I asked her what kind of oat milk they had, she just gave me a look and said "the expensive kind." Then I tried to gently explain that I needed to know because my husband is super sensitive to gluten and sometimes oat milk has gluten and she all but rolled her eyes and said "our entire facility is gluten free." I get that...but no need to be snide about it! I was wearing sunglasses because I had been crying about some bad news I had gotten on the way to the shop and her mean attitude made me feel so much worse. There were a couple people in line behind me while she was making my latte and a sweet teenager walked behind the counter and said, "can I help who's next?" And I said "oh actually I wanted to order a cookie as well" and the lady practically yelled "I'LL GET TO YOU." and told the teen to help the other people, even though they weren't ready to order yet and were just standing there when I was ready and knew what I wanted. Then I asked for a lemon cookie and she tried to upsell me something else and I said no thank you. I was also having a tough time standing for long periods of time that day due to chronic illness and her making me wait made it worse....just abysmal customer service. I don't know if I freaked her out by keeping my sunglasses on inside or what but it felt very personal and I'm disappointed. And that lemon cookie was the worst thing I have eaten there by far. Very dry. Do better! EDIT: response to the owner: No, Michele is not always nice. You just missed it. Please see the attached picture for proof of the citrus coffee drink I was referencing. Very disappointed in my experience there and your dismissive response that somehow puts the blame back on my "bad day." Will not be back.
