This was never the best pizzeria in Old Forge but I've probably eaten here a hundred times and have spent 15 years defending it, so it holds significance in my food journey. The late 2025 experience was between sad and insulting. Flat dough on 3 pizzas, chintzy toppings, only half the soup container was filled and didn't include bread, sloppy sandwich, and the woman on the phone sounded like she wished she had retired five years ago. Nobody ever said that this was the most consistent restaurant in Old Forge, but when your restaurant reaches the point where you're dragging down the reputation of the town's food scene, I think it's time to close.

I got a vodka grandma slice and Samantha got the Chicken, Bacon, Honey Mustard slice. Came out to $7 and change. They were busy busy. A good amount of seating and the place looked clean. The vodka sauce was very good. I'm guessing it's just a blush and they don't add actual vodka but the flavor was solid. The dough and the cook on the pizza was also enjoyable. This is one of the better grandma slices I've had in quite some time. I took a bite of Sami's slice and it was good, but the honey mustard threw me off a bit. I'm used to the sauce for that type of slice being ranch so the sweetness was a change. Not bad necessarily, just different in a way I wasn't expecting. Rosario's definitely Didn't Suck, and I'd like to go back and try other slices sometime.

With that said this still should've been a five star experience if not for a couple tiny hiccups. First off, I started off drinking at their bar and bottle shop across the parking lot. In fact, I was going to get a pizza over there, except I wanted to be all healthy and get a salad as well, which was not offered on the limited, pizza and snacks only menu available at the bottle shop. I closed my tab and walked across the parking lot only find a very interesting set up of a to go area very much separated from a sit down only restaurant. Quickly figured out I need to be in the to go area, where I was able to get a draft beer while I waited for my pizza and salad to go. Luckily I asked for a min to settle my tab as I wanted a can to take with me, at which point I found out about the cash only aspect. Last part of slight disappointment resided in the fact that they let me sit there with an empty glass without telling me my pizza was ready, until I finally went to the counter and they asked if I was ready to go. Uh yeah I was actually. By the time I go back to the hotel 14 minutes away, the pizza had gotten cold and required reheating. Fortunately, it was good enough that even with the reheat, revealed itself to be one hell of a pizza. Subtract another fraction of a point for not putting any plastic silverware for my salad. By the way, salad was fine, but pizza slaps.

I went with this place because they were one of the few places near Marywood that offered a website with the menu available online. They didn't disappoint. When I called at 2 pm for an 845 pm delivery the nice lady who took my order was thorough but I got the idea no one had ever called to have an order delivered to a coach bus because she seemed a little confused that I was so sure of the description of the bus. I assured her it wasn't my first rodeo and we finished the transaction. The pizza and salad was good, as were the fries and mozzarella stix- there were no problems when I asked for 10 sides of ranch dressing (college girls are brutal) and I paid ahead of time with my credit card. Only gripe? What the heck was ham doing on the calzone? And what the heck are you doing calling it a calzone when it's CLEARLY a Stromboli? Everything else was great. Nice work Gangi.
