First time I got iced latte and it was pretty good. So I returned for a hot latte. It had only a barely espresso flavored mile burnt taste. I asked if they could strengthen it with an extra shot, and after they nicely asked me a few questions about how it's different from yesterday and how the roast might have been darker yesterday, I said I'll just pay for an extra shot. $2. Sadly it tastes no stronger. Same mild burnt taste. Nice staff tho. read more

Perfect little coffee spot right next to my hotel. I had the ube sunrise latte one day and the lavender ginger latte the next. Both were really good, although I didn't really taste the ginger part of the lavender ginger latte. The real star for me (and the reason for 5 stars) was the açaí bowl. So so so yummy and perfect way to start the day. They pack in the fruit and the açaí itself is really refreshing. My husband had the English muffin breakfast sandwich and an iced chai tea latte. He really enjoyed both! Both times I went, there was no line and the service was very fast and friendly. Note - you can use credit card for orders greater than $8 and a small service fee applies. Short walk from our hotel to Vida's coffee! Friendly staff, cute food truck, & great milk alternatives! We got the Ube sunrise w/ coconut milk & dirty chai w/ oat milk. We liked the chai more due to it's spiciness! Worth a trip especially if your hotel is close by like ours! read more

Stopped because the place is easy to spot from the road. The coffee was just okay, and the açaí bowl was pretty average. There was a line, so we waited about 10-15 minutes since it was busy, but honestly, there's nothing particularly special about it. The main draw is really just the convenience. read more

It's ok. Waited in line for 15 minutes for our 3 drinks, but it was only 1 person working the truck so completely understandable. Located in the parking lot with all the other food trucks but is open earlier. Drinks were... eh. Lattes were extremely sweet. Matcha was terrible. No matcha flavor, tasted like watered down milk with syrup. Maybe other drinks on the menu are better, but I know I personally will not be going back. read more

Vidas is right around the corner from the resort area. A perfect morning walk and we LOVE supporting anything local. The coffee is amazing! With options ranging from lattes, matchas, cold brews and speciality seasonal drinks. They also offer a wide range of food such as açaí bowls, breakfast bagel/croissant and freshly baked goods. The owners are so kind and welcoming. There's a ton of great seating outside. Definitely a must! read more

Vida's is amazing! Their coffee is excellent as are their açaí bowls! The standard is banana, pineapple, strawberry, blueberry, coconut flakes, and granola with honey (peanut butter is an add on) and as I cannot have pineapple or banana, they double up on the strawberry and blueberries without me even having to ask. They're also very welcoming and sweet in their engagement with their guests! Totally recommend! read more

Vida's is a sweet little spot with some really good coffee. During our recent visit we took our walks toward her truck and stopped by a few times for her delicious coffee. The service was excellent and Vida is so sweet. We'll definitely be back. Ps.... Don't forget to try the pineapple and banana homemade breads. They are so yummy. read more

We stayed at Honua Kai and this place is dangerously close. It's near a bunch of other food trucks but is the only one open at 6am. Can't recommend their food and drinks more. The macadamia nut latte was such a treat and the açaí bowl is incredible. Ugh best tropical feeling breakfast ever! I want this place back home! read more

Vida's and it's sister Tiki Coffee were a surprising treat during our Maui visit. Both EXCELLENT coffee and customer service. With all the small businesses have gone through on this island, for the staff to still be upbeat, kind and generous is a testament to the owners character. I am a dedicated hi-maintenance Americano coffee drinker. I have expectations for both the quality and the service. I am a small business owner and feel the customer service these days is severely lacking. Vida and her husband are the real deal. Hardworking, kind, generous and quality products all around. We were staying close by and walked over for some coffee at this food truck. They have all the traditional coffees and even nitro cold brew, but I was interested in something more interesting and got an ube sunrise latte, which is house ube syrup with espresso. The iced version was perfect for a balmy morning. It wasn't too sweet, and the espresso was great. Alternate milks are available. They also have breakfast items like breakfast sandwiches, grilled cheese, acai bowls, banana and pineapple breads. $8 minimum for credit cards. Staff are very friendly, and they have a little covered seating area separate from the regular picnic tables for the other food trucks. Current hours are 6am to 2pm. read more

If you're looking for a local coffee spot, go visit these guys. They have a variety of latte options as well as acai bowls and smoothies. Amazing açaí bowl and wonderful coffees. This truck is reasonably priced and has so many choices for coffee, chai, smoothies, açaí, and food such as sandwiches. There is limited seating and lots of flies in the general food truck area so be ready with bug spray and maybe even to eat in the car if it's hot! read more

Stopped by Vida Coffee at the food truck park and even though it was super busy, it was 100% worth the wait! The staff was friendly and kept things moving with a great vibe. I ordered the Big Daddy Mocha Roca and WOW--this drink is next level. Rich, chocolatey, with perfect nutty chunks that gave it the most amazing texture. It was gone in five minutes flat, and I'm already craving another. Absolutely delicious--can't wait to come back when I return to Maui! read more

The island latte was again very sweet, I liked the syrups they used but i wish there was a stronger coffee taste. Prices were also on the expensive side, almost $20 for 2 drinks. Parking was another downside, as it was pretty difficult to find a spot nearby. Overall, I'd say this place is better suited for people who enjoy dessert-like coffee drinks rather than those who want a good balance of sweetness and coffee flavor. If you have a serious sweet tooth, you might enjoy it, but even as someone who loves sweet coffee, these drinks were a little too much for me.

I enjoy Monin syrups so I was quite happy to see that's what they used. The coffee felt strong, had a nice bite, and wasn't overly sweet. Husband got their signature dark roast and also enjoyed that. It was a quick in and out since there wasn't any seating, but since we're right across the beach, it didn't matter much. Inside was loaded with coffee, merch, and apparel and we ended up grabbing a souvenir mug to commemorate the visit. We'd be back in the future :)

That's right--three shots is the norm. No weak espresso drinks here unless you request it, and why would you? :) My wife loved her hot brewed coffee, sampling different varieties until she landed on the one that suited her most. I tried a number of iced espresso drinks, including the Coconut Mocha, Dulce de Leche, Kahlua and Cream, and the Mexilatte. All of them were good, though if I had to pick a personal favorite, it was the Coconut Mocha, which I ordered twice because it was that good. I'm difficult to please with a coconut mocha because coconut and coffee are a hard combination to get right, but this place knows how to do it. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the store was always clean. There's only a little seating inside and out, but we were usually able to find a place to sit if we wanted to take a couple of minutes to savor our drinks before leaving, but most of the time, we were just getting our drinks to go as we went out to enjoy the great Hawaii weather and activities. Prices here aren't the cheapest, but at least here you are getting your money's worth. I got an Iced Chai Latte with Almond Milk which is delicious especially since I am a Chai lover. And my go to is the Smashed Avocado Toast with feta crumbles, sprouts and a few cherry tomatoes. I always add an egg for protein but you have the option to add 2. I kept staring at the pastries in the glass showcase near the register so after finishing my toast, I treated myself to a Cinnamon Roll (baked and delivered by a local Argentine bakery-Momona) & that was the best decision of the day LOL! I mean I'm not a cinnamon roll person but this was flaky, crispy, oozing with Cream Cheese frosting! Everything you'd ever want your cinnamon roll to be! I would literally come back just for this. I did wish it was a tad on the affordable side since everything together was maybe $25-30. I definitely wouldn't come here often but not bad if you'd like a good drink and pastry once in a while.

There were a bunch of coffee places extremely close to us, such as Kraken and Akami (both worth your time btw), but after a few visits to a wide selection of coffee places, we kept returning and making an effort, to get to Wailuku. What I liked about this place was the general décor and vibe. It was clearly a local hangout and was active whenever we visited. Its close to a bunch of shops and some older buildings to check out, such as an old cinema a few doors down. The coffee is bold and flavorful, plus they have a wide selection of food. I tried their Breakfast Wrap with Bacon and avocado, and it was super tasty and substantial in size. This became a regular breakfast for me. They left their doors open, which not only brought a nice breeze in, it also enticed local birds that would waltz in and around the shop, giving their approval and pecking up crumbs. Nice people, great coffee and food, plus not too far from the airport, which was also the reason with did one last visit there on the way back home. I love the vibes inside with hanging plants and art work throughout. There was someone doing remote work or school in the corner with her sleepy golden retriever next to her, a few locals outside and some visitors inside. The workers are friendly and I saw one clean the outside tables right away after a few parties left. A nice spot to hit up for some nice breakfast, lunch and a coffee with a friend.

I've mostly given up my coffee ways lately, but I think I've found my new go-to alternative here -- their Ube Matcha Milk Tea. I've tried it with both oat milk and whole milk, and surprisingly, I prefer the oat milk version. It gives the drink a thicker, creamier texture and really lets the ube flavor shine over the matcha (which I love). The drinks come in pretty generous sizes -- 20oz or 24oz -- though I'd personally love to see a 16oz option for iced drinks. I've yet to finish a full 20oz before the caffeine buzz kicks in! My only other suggestion would be to add a touch more ice as it often melts before I can even get to my office. I also tried the pandesal breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon, which was decent -- nothing too fancy, but it did the job. So far, I've really enjoyed my visits here. There's never been a line, service is quick, and I'm usually in and out in under 10 minutes. It's a convenient stop with some creative drinks you won't find elsewhere. Next on my try list is the Ube Taro Cloud! If you're looking to switch up your usual coffee run and try something uniquely Filipino-inspired, Kapwa Coffee Bar is definitely worth a stop!
