Happy to have a true Mariscos spot south of the beltway. The service was great from everyone at the bar, as I preferred to sit there for this visit. Very friendly staff. Had the lovely Anna assisting us. Started out with what they call a Marchela with Modelo as my beer of choice. The shrimp were really Fresh and that fresh boiled taste. I was satisfied with this drink. We ordered the Ceviche Rojo and it's listed as spicy which 99% of the time means I need to add more salsa or hot sauce, this was not the case here. The Ceviche was truly hot and I was glad to see it. It was refreshing and flavored well enough so that I didn't feel the need to add anything to it which was nice. The last dish we ordered was the Parillada Deliciosa. I laughed when I asked for this dish since it sounds like I'm asking ms delicious for a platter in Spanish. Everything with the platter was great and they had homemade corn tortillas. Even the beans and rice were good and that's something I discard at most places. All in all it was a great meal and ambiance and I'll be frequenting Vida at least once a week. read more

Me and the wife ate here this past weekend, I think it was their grand opening. To start off the micheladas were delicious and tasty but the fajita combination dinner for two was terrible, the quesadillas were overly greasy and the chicken fajitas tasted like cardboard, it was disappointing but I'll be back for the micheladas but not to eat, who knows might try an appetizer. Ohh and I can't forget about the octopus, chewy as can be, it was really tuff. I've had it in the past and it was never that hard or chewy to eat. read more

Food was not good. I got the steak and shrimp. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was well done and my shrimp was way over cooked as well. Very expensive and not worth half of the price. read more

Happy hour dishes were good. Drinks were good. Service at the bar was good. We ordered a large fried rice to go and not only the order was forgotten, but when I checked the order, it was barely enough of fried rice for a large order of $10.99. Lesson learned. Will not be ordering fried rice from here and I would be very cautious to order any foods to go either. read more

The food was great except for the shrimp in my caldo de camaron. The shrimp were super overcooked to the point that they were rubbery. The shrimp needs to be cooked separately and not boiled with the rest of the ingredients in the broth. My favorite thing was the esquites. We had that as an appetizer and I thought it was the best thing I've ever had! read more

Food here is great have been 6 times since opening. The service is usually great as well. TVs everywhere weekends they have mariachis. If you like seafood definitely check it out read more

Mexican seafood great food great drinks great service one of my go lotta seafood combination dish, Spanish Mexican. It's all of that.

The only reason I'm giving it a 2 stars is because besides the long wait for the food, it was good, the service was awful. Somehow out of all tables we didn't get assigned to have a waiter?? So all night and it was hard to order more food or even get a refill. read more

Food was okay, the drinks were not strong and the service was horrible. The host didn't even talk to us just grab the menu and walked and the other host had to tell us to follow her. We called and asked what time the kitchen closed and they said 12 It was 11:45 and we ordered a shrimp cocktail and they said no so we ordered 2 drinks and we were just gonna sit and just drink but not even half way done with our drinks the waiter brings the check. It wasn't worth it at the end, find somewhere else to spend ur money on. read more

The food was authentic and great. We got the Pura Vida bowl and Carne Margarita to eat and it was so good. The margaritas were amazing. Our waitress Nubia was so nice and the service was fast. There are a ton of TV's so it would be an awesome place to watch baseball too! read more

We sat there for about 15 min and the server never went to our table. Someone brought us the bread but no server. People got sat next to us a lot after us and they got margaritas!!! I asked to speak to a manager or got a card. They said they don't have one. And I called and they hung up on me. Ambience was great tho! read more

One and done! The food was good. The service one the other hand was slow, and our waitress did not speak English. Really? The mariachi band was so loud it made my eye twitch. I could not even hear the couple we had lunch with. So very disappointed! read more

This Was my second time coming here the food the first time was pretty good but the second time I came i did not receive my food at all even though I placed my order 2hours prior around 7:25 and I'm currently leaving at 9:27 still no food the place was loud but overall festive in my eyes good place for drinks but dont think you're getting food 7 times out of 10 read more

When we got there it was pretty empty. We showed up early in the evening. There were four ladies at the front and they seemed to struggle when it came to finding us a table. We stood there and waited an awkward amount of time while they tried to figure out the treasure map to where the most crooked and off balance table in the whole establishment was. When they finally found it the hostess couldn't seem to find the only people standing in front of her. She seemed very confused as to where we went even though we never moved. It was definitely a rough start to the meal and plenty of red flags. The inside was large and wide open. There are lots of big TVs for watching sports. The bar area looked nice but we didn't get any drinks. The music and the bass was a little excessive. I had some undercooked beans that lacked flavor, undercooked bland crunchy white rice, and Siracha shrimp tacos. The tacos weren't bad but they were stuffed full of lettuce on the bottom so the shrimp all fell out. They weren't anything to write home about. The best part of the meal was the green sauce that came with it. The shrimp my wife got was rubbery. Her sweet potato fries were ok but would've been better if they were crispy. The waitress did fine. She was nice enough and seemed to do a good job. A lot of the food on the menu wasn't something I'd normally like or eat. We just thought we would try the new place that just opened. Definitely not a place I'd go back to unless I wanted to go for drinks and try them there. read more

Went yesterday for Fathers Day lunch. Our second time there. I like the open, airy, colorful and somewhat noisy at times atmosphere. It was packed at 12:30 pm. We had the Vida Parrilladas and it was excellent. The fish, chicken and beef fajitas were delicious but the shrimp were over cooked, i think because the meal is served on a grill/hot plate with a sterno type flame under it which made the plate very hot so i suggest pulling the shrimp off the grill immediately when served and you'll be just fine. Frozen margarita was good but just a bit heavy on the lime juice mix. We'll definitely be going back to continue to explore the extensive menu. read more

Algunos platillos no tienen sabor pero otros estan muy buenos, los mariscos ricos, steaks no

The restaurant missed the mark of being a Mexican Seafood restaurant. At the start, instead of chips and salsa, we were brought bread rolls and butter--that is not a good sign. When we received our plates, it seemed they were out of Mexican rice, so we had white rice with soy sauce (they wanted $4 for chips/salsa). All the fish was overcooked--the shrimp were very chewy, and the fish was way overdone. The atmosphere seems fun, and that's probably why this restaurant was full. I'll give the food a D rating and the atmosphere B (it's not the employees' fault for the terrible food). There was live music - I'll just leave it there. read more

Food was good, but service was horrible. Our waitress was in a rush. She forgot to put our appetizer in and never even came to check on us. At the end I was looking for her to order a dessert and she handed me the check and told me "Let me know when you ready" and walked away extremely fast. Then my husband came back from the restroom and he still was half way on he's drink when she asked 5 min after giving is the tab if she could already take it. Not sure if I would go back! read more

3.5 stars is right on for this place. Not bad...not Tex-mex, so don't go there looking for that. Coastal Mexican, I would say but everything is very heavily sauced.
