I just visited Vida Bodywork for the first time based on the good Google reviews and type of massages they offer. I had a Thai Combo massage (integrates Deep Tissue, Swedish, and Thai stretching techniques) with Vernell. My body was a mess, and he used a variety of techniques to tackle my tight spots. This was one of the best therapeutic massages I have had. The salon itself was clean and smelled amazing. IMPORTANT: the construction on W Lake St is terrible, and map apps do not factor in the time it takes to get through it. Make sure to leave extra time. There is a free parking lot behind the building which is nice. read more

I am a huge fan of deep tissue massages and was pleasantly surprised with my experience at Vida. The space is very nice, clean and spacious. It is a very small practice (only two masseuses were there when I went in) and during Covid times you may have trouble just doing a walk in. I called ahead to book a massage day of but was told they weren't available. So I came in the next day, Saturday morning at 11am for my massage (and Vida also offered to open the store an hour earlier that day if that would work with my schedule so I really appreciated the flexibility). The massage was good. But a few things to note: the actual massage started 15 minutes after the time of my appointment (that time was spent filling out some forms, I also had to use the restroom quickly (which I would NOT have done if I knew this would cut into the hour, and settle in). What I didn't realize was that 15 mins would cut into my hour massage time. We ended on the hour at 12pm so my massage was only 45 minutes and I paid around $90+ for that time. The pressure was good though sometimes a bit too light, with too much rubbing the skin, instead of using pressure, but she focused on the problem areas I told her needed attention - However, I just really didn't feel like 45 minutes was enough to make a proper judgment of the massage and I did not walk out fully satisfied. I really needed a nice LONG massage (you only get a chance to do this every so often during Covid). My experience the second time might have been better as I would expect to immediately start the massage instead of wasting that time filling out forms, but unfortunately didn't get a chance to come back before leaving MN. If you're in the area snd need a massage I would recommend giving this place a try (but try to fill out those forms quick to get your monies worth !) I think this is a good option in the area but expect to pay $90+ for a 45minute massage. I probably would give this place another try before writing it off as it was clean, nice and the massage was not bad. read more

I've been a monthly massage member for over 4 years at Vida Bodywork and have always had phenomenal massages with all of the therapists there. For a while I only requested the first available therapist so I've had massages from many different therapists, and every single one has been fantastic. Since COVID, I have been seeing Ayra more consistently based on her availability and I have begun to request her specifically because she really knows how to work out my (many, many) knots and aches! I am very active with rock climbing and strength workouts, and I work a desk job, so I have a lot of back pain and require very deep tissue massages. Ayra is always able to match the pressure I request and I walk out like a new person. I have been overdue for a review of Vida's business and am remembering to leave a review now because we just wrapped up a corporate-type event that I planned for an organization that I am involved with. Vida and Ayra came with a massage table and massage chairs to Minnehaha Park to provide 10-15 minute massages for about 2 dozen attendees. First off, we were late getting there and Vida and her staff were very accommodating. They even allowed us to extend out massage to a 90 minute (so worth it!). I play a lot of sports and opted for the deep tissue massage. I swear Vida had the pressure of a 300 lb weight lifter trapped inside a petite woman. Pressure and technique was excellent! First, i'll start by saying that both ladies were very nice and professional. The place was also in a cute neighborhood and had a great vibe inside. My fiancé and I went in for a deep tissue couples massage and were very specific about how we were both very active and needed a release. We are used to deep tissue massages being pretty painful which we prefer since it does more for your muscles and releases tension. However, that was not the experience here as it was more of a Swedish light/medium massage. If you are looking for a light massage with a cute environment, this is definitely a spot for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a deep tissue high pressure massage, I would not recommend. read more

Warm welcoming space. The location is central, in the LynnLake area, with free parking behind the building. Having read a recent story about it, I had this on my list to check out. Went for a 30-minute foot massage. They currently have a $1/minute special. Vida greeted me with a smile and I settled into a comfortable black sofa. The foot massage was solid - great pressure and enormously relaxing. I promptly fell asleep; it was the perfect way to end a long work day. Vida checked with me a couple of times to make sure pressure was okay. I signed up for the monthly plan that automatically re-charges every month and gives members 20% off any service. The plan is great - you can share it with friends to use your monthly discount. You can cancel the plan after three months if you wish. I'm looking forward to trying out the Swedish and Thai massages here. This may well become one of my regular places. read more

But it's my fault for coming here, this is definitely not my style of Massage that I'm used to. No questions asked before hand about injuries or concerns. The whole experience felt extremely routine. With that said I must say the Masseuse did make her effort. The best way I can describe my experience; it was like getting a massage at a strip mall nail salon but with a high end massage price. Went here with my wife New Year's Eve while visiting her family. As background, we live in chicago and have had plenty of massages. She had a deep tissue with Vida to specifically address her siatica. She was able to find the specific area and worked on it for some time. My wife feels great without any more pain. I elected to have a Thai massage which I've gotten before in chicago. The space was great and the floor padding was excellent. Not too hard with just enough cushion. It was without exaggeration the best Thai massage I've had. They give you very cool loose Loation clothes for the massage. She intermittently checked on pressure amount and worked all the tight areas. The stretching portions were fabulous and just the right amount of essential oils were used. I appreciate the ability to schedule same day service (I had to come back on hour after my walk-in request on a Saturday afternoon). The environment is warm and welcoming. It isn't as luxurious as a typical spa (where you have to book further out) and you can hear conversation, etc in the other massage room and waiting area because the walls are only partial. But, the massage itself was high quality and love the addition of warm towels for Swedish massage. read more

The studio has perfect lighting, temperature, and music all which set the mood for a relaxing massage. We were given a choice between Deep Tissue or Swedish.
