I entered this intimate massage place to be greeted by Tami and Kimmie, who I soon found out would be working with me today. They asked me to fill out a thorough questionare about any health issues I may have. Kimmie then led me into a very pleasant and relaxing room, explained the type of massages that she does, and asked me what I was looking for. She encouraged me to be very vocal if the hot stones were too hot and if the pressure she applied was too hard. The massage itself was phenomenal. In fact, I caught myself not so quietly waking up from falling asleep. :) When the massage was over, Kimmie gave me a recap of the massage and let me know where she felt that I was tight. She gave me stretches to do to help with my tightness and also gave me other massage options that might benefit me. I've found my new massage therapist and would recommend her to anyone! read more

Tami texted me with parking instructions the day before so there was no difficulty finding their location. Got a "couples massage", but were not able to be in the same room. The massage was great though. Was hard not to fall asleep. read more

When the person I use to go for a massage left Juut, I was very sad. Now where am I going to get a massage? My other half suggested In Touch. He decided to try them after we moved to the neighborhood and was very pleased. So I went and to my surprise I got a great massage. I have now been twice and pleased both times. I walked out of there floating. The only draw back. When you walk into the building, the smell of rotting fruit and veg from the Ecopolitan. read more

I tried a 60-min massage here based on Amy Z.'s review. Staff was friendly and got me an appt on the same day. They offered a discount for a new client which I appreciated. They have free off-street parking--another plus. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere when I walked in the door. Not chic or frilly, just relaxed with a Lyndale Ave vibe. My massage by Bobbi was very relaxing. (Like most massages, I wished the clock would have stopped so it wouldn't have ended.) Two weeks later I was back to try a 90-minute massage. Wow, that's a treat--I would repeat that weekly if my wallet permitted. I've made my next appt for a 60-min and I'm counting the days. read more

I've gone to all too many places that leave me sore for several days after a massage, places that I don't trust to do anything good with my temperamental lower back. But then there's In Touch Masage. I trust the people at In Touch. I've had massages from several different people and each one was wonderful. They listened carefully to my words, and even more carefully to my body. You could say they have my back. :) I've gone twice after an injury. (One was an SI joint injury and one was a herniated disk that was pinching a nerve.) Each time I was amazed at how much more smoothly my body moved afterwards. The only puzzle about In Touch Massage is why I don't go back more often. It seems to take pain or injury to get me in their door. Then once I am there I remember the magic and promise myself I'll make it a habit. read more

My sister booked a tandem massage for both of us at this place. They never called the day before to confirm. But what I'm really mad about is the fact that they called two hours before the appointment to cancel. Really people? A two hour notice? That's all the time we get to rearrange our schedule for you? Super unprofessional. I'm from out of town and it's my birthday so I was really looking forward to this massage. Thanks for the disappointment. read more

Called in for a same day appointment. The reception was hesitant about making a same day appointment, but relented as it seemed they weren't too busy that day. That was really nice of them, I thought. I was having an emergency back issue! So I need help right away. The spa is inside a "house" on Lyndale right behind Urban Bean. It didn't seem at all busy when I got there and is a very small interior. The receptionist seemed rather harried and exhausted(and probably needed a massage herself to relax!) Unfortunately I don't remember the name of my masseuse, I think it was Breanne??? Anyway, she was friendly, knowledgeable and excellent! She listened to my concerns and we communicated clearly with one another throughout the massage so that we could both get my back back in order! She did a mix of deep tissue and shiatsu massage on my back, and it was such a relieving and relaxing experience. Even I had no idea how bad my back and shoulders were until the masseuse worked on them. I'm always worried when I get a massage the masseuse won't use enough pressure. I had no problems like that here. I liked that she wasn't afraid to use a lot of pressure and power to give my back the relief it needed, loosening up the muscles by a lot! I am planning on going back monthly, and highly recommend anyone else to go here too. read more

First timer at in touch massage and will be returning for my second appointment with Devakai. I went in completely drained, stressed, and wound up like a pretzel and left after my session feeling unraveled. Devakai's technique involved a lot of stretching and I think that's maybe what my body needed because I feel less tension and tightness today. Tami is also very nice. When I called yesterday and no one answered Tami actually gave me a call back so that's how I was able to set an appointment. They also have off street parking which is convenient. 5 stars all the way! read more

Holy smokes I can't believe more people don't rave about this little gem. In-Touch is low-key, but clean and friendly. Inside it's like a peaceful and charming little oasis, just steps from the hustle of downtown/Uptown. Can't wait to treat my body to another awesome massage there and then pick up a delicious dinner at healthy Ecopolitan (next door) or the nearby Wedge. read more

I've been going to In Touch for a few years, and still come back even though I do not live on that side of town anymore. Finding a good masseuse is difficult -- but finding a team of them is even harder. Even when I cannot get in to see my preferred person, I have not had anybody there I would not recommend. read more

I had a great time here! Really cool environment, very clean and incredible massage therapists! I'm definitely going to be a repeat customer. What's really nice about them is that they can usually do same day appointments, as opposed to the rest of the massage establishments in the TC. And, the prices are very affordable. Oh yes, almost forgot: $15 first time customer discount. read more

It says I've been here twice, and in fact I have.. but have only gotten one massage. I made an appointment (FINALLY) after receiving a gift card for my birthday (IN APRIL! WHAT is WRONG with me?) Well I finally made the appointment, and when I showed up the door was locked... they were in session. So I gave them a call, and said I was here for my appointment. They were confused. She said they'd call me back. Oh no, I thought. They didn't schedule me and it's gonna be another one of those places (thinking to myself it was hard enough to find geeez). Tami called me back a couple minutes later and apologized for the confusion. She was very sweet and apologetic but she had scheduled me for Friday. She offered for me to come in in about an hour but I don't live in the area and actually was planning on doing other things later that day. Again, very apologetic. It really eased my concerns that were running through my head while I was waiting for the call back. Well after another scheduling mishap (due to me) I went this afternoon and saw Kimmie. The room was very relaxing and calm, and being that it was my first professional massage, I felt at ease here. Everyone was very calm, very professional, and very friendly; everything you would want at a massage place. I told Kimmie exactly where my problems were and while she was giving the massage she seemed to know exactly where I needed to be rubbed; aside from the obvious that I pointed out, I REALLY liked that she got the "peripheral" muscles, or the muscle groups that were causing the pain. I felt like she had really good intuition and could sense where my body was reacting and where that led to. I know that is her job, but damn girl, don't stop! When I told her she could go harder, she did in the right spots and didn't just mash away at my body. I guess I don't really know what I was expecting, but I felt like she had it under control. I had the 60 minute massage and when it was over I felt a little sad. I would definitely go back and recommend the 90 minute massage whether it is your first one or you've been to several. So, despite the scheduling mishap that threw me off a little bit, I am thoroughly satisfied with my massage. I can feel my muscles start to get a little sore now, but I'll take the bath that she recommends. read more

I was so satisfied after finding this local massage parlor, I just have to share w.the community! I had a headache for two days straight and really was desperate for any relief so I searched for a nice massage near me last minute. I got so lucky meeting Devakai-she had a great sense of intuition and the perfect touch!! Nice blend of deep tissue & shiatsu-no cut corners, felt very thorough. Such relief! What a wonderful experience-I'm grateful & will definitely be returning! read more

My bf and I went for Valentine's Day this year and it was pretty good. I was a little behind on things because I'm working a lot, so it was GREAT that they did a same day appointment for me with no hesitation. Tammie even worked with me to try to get a therapist to stay late so I could get a later time (that didn't work out, but I really appreciate the effort). The salon itself is a little small and looks shabby from the outside, but the massage was great and the staff is very courteous and receptive. The massage was great and they even gave us some valentine's chocolates afterward :) very good experience overall. read more

This review is for Danielle, I have had as a massage therapist twice and each time I have felt completely relaxed and left rejuvenated. She adjusts pressure as needed and can really zero in on my pain points. I can't wait until my next massage with her! read more

My friend bought me a gift certificate for In Touch a few years ago. Since then, I always go back to Kyra. She has helped me out with lots of body issues and helped me to relax and unwind. She is amazing at finding all the spots that need attention. I always leave feeling like jello (in a good way). They're also super accommodating, often getting me in within a couple of days or even the next day. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for body work! read more

Massage is a 5 out of 5. My massage therapist was VERY attentive to my needs, from the temperature, to the amount of pressure, to pointing out tense areas, to addressing occupation related needs, to encouraging me to relax. Minus one star for noisy window air conditioner, hard to use website, and difficulty finding the entrance. These are not reflective of the therapists, but rather the business itself. There is a SMALL amount of free parking in back (look for Ecopolitan signs). I plan to go back. read more

I have fibromyalgia and chronic muscle tightness and pain in addition to over exertion issues in my arms from work. I have been seeing Danielle at In Touch Massage weekly for massage it has made a world of difference. I have been receiving regular massage from a variety of practitioners for years. I have to say that Danielle has definitely gotten the best results of all the massage therapists I have worked with. She is always able to adjust to my changing needs, and is incredibly in tuned to what my body needs week to week. She is very professional, pleasant, and fun to work with. The tables and setting at In Touch aren't as nice as many places (resulting in 4/5 rather than 5 stars), but the quality of the work is excellent and the 3 session discount is better than most places I have found locally. read more

Unfortunately I had a horrible experience here, while my friend who got a massage as well had a wonderful one. My masseuse was late, didn't focus on the areas I asked him to, opened the window when it was below zero outside and by the time I left i was really upset I had spent my money there. read more

I met with massage therapist, Kim S, and it was FANTASTIC! One of the most capable individuals I have ever met with stamina to rock out deep tissue for more than an hour! I noticed she offered many options (Feldenkrais, Matrix Energetics, Deep Tissue, Swedish, etc) so I was grateful for the buffet of choices to pick from. With the deep work we were doing she checked in often to determine my pressure preference, changed the music when she heard my slight whisper of dissatisfaction with it, was funny and caring while maintaining a professional manner. Happy to leave a positive review for a wonderful place. read more

I visited In Touch recently because my regular therapist was not available for a time. I'm always a bit sheepish to visit a new massage therapist so I read some reviews and gave this place a try. Scheduling was simple over the phone and I booked a time slot the next morning with Rachel. The place is very clean and I like their uptown style, decor and mood. My 90 minute massage was top notch and my therapist had excellent technique and it was clear to me that she has had a lot of experience and training. I received a first time discount without asking for it and that is always very nice. Parking is free in the lot next door to the south if you don't want to park on the street. I won't hesitate to visit again some time. read more

My girlfriend & I came in for a couple's massage. NOTE: We were in separate rooms... so technically NOT a couple's massage. However, the masseuse each of us got were fantastic. They know what they're talking about and know how to loosen up your tight spots. Left with good recommendations for what I should do about my tightness. Also note: $20 off your first time with them!! read more

I have gone to Rae for a massage every couple of weeks for a couple months now. I really needed help with my sciatica and my chronic headaches. Since going there, my headaches have decreased substantially (both in number and severity) and my sciatica is much more manageable. Rae really listens to what I need, and delivers! She's easy to talk to and explains what she is doing and why. I'm fully comfortable with her and intend on continuing my patronage for the foreseeable future. read more

Kyra was great. I've been to this place a few times to get a massage. I only had both Kyra and Tami help. They both have very gifted hands. The whole experience was very relaxing. I loved the environment. I would highly recommend the place. The atmosphere was very calming, and I felt a lot better when I had left. read more

I love this place. I've received many massages different places over the years but this place surpasses them all. I am never particular in who I book with, mostly calling for last minute appointments, and no matter who I'm scheduled with it's top notch. The woman who did my massage was friendly upon my arrival and asked the appropriate questions. However, the actual massage was not enjoyable. I had Nicki and she was clumsy with materials and with me. She kept dropping things and was very messy with my blanket. . To the point where I am sure I was exposed, which was very uncomfortable. the massage itself was okay on some parts (my neck) the rest of my body it was painful and did not feel like a massage (would have liked more use of fingers instead of just rubbing my body) she also would dig her elbow into random parts of my body (like my calf.. ouch!) One last thing that did it for me was she belched (yes burped!) During my massage. I was counting down the minutes to be done and was not worth $60. read more

I decided to treat myself to a massage for my birthday today, unfortunately I was disappointed with my experience at In Touch Massage. I'm not sure who this review is for because my therapist never introduced herself, I'm not sure if she even knew my name. To start, I am a first time client and I was asked to arrive 10 minutes early to complete a standard intake form. When I arrived the door was locked so I called Tami and she told me I was the first appointment of the day and that she would contact my therapist right away. I sat on the steps outside the door for 10 minutes until my therapist arrived. This isn't necessarily what bothered me, sometimes life gets in the way and I wasn't in a hurry. I believe we did get started on time and I got the full 90 minutes, however, we didn't do the intake form until after the massage. My therapist did ask what kind of experience I was looking for but didn't ask about any kind of injuries or conditions. I also didn't find the ambience to be particularly relaxing. The room was a little chilly and the music was too loud and upbeat, I had hoped for something a little softer and more relaxing but I guess that can mean different things to different people and everyone has different preferences. I did think the aromatherapy was excellent though! Finally, the massage itself was extremely painful, I've never experienced anything like it. I asked for a relaxation massage and told her that I have had deep tissue massages in the past which were a bit too painful for me. I know massage can be a little painful at times when working out knots and whatnot but I was in pain for a majority of the 90-minute session and it reached a point where I just wanted it to be over. When I was lying on my back and she was massaging my neck, I was literally wincing and she didn't seem to notice or make any adjustments. I'm not a CMT and my intent is not to tell her how to do her job, maybe that's how some massages are supposed to be and a lot of people like them like that but it was very intense for me. Perhaps I should have communicated better with my therapist and asked her to ease up but she also never asked at any point during the visit. I felt like I couldn't relax because even during brief moments of relief I was waiting for it to hurt again, it was stressful! I left feeling more tense than when I came in and actually in pain, my neck has been killing me all day. I wish that my massage at been catered to me more. I found this experience today to be a little unprofessional and I just hoped for something warmer and more personable and pleasant. The new-client discount was awesome but I really don't know if it was worth the $100 I spent. I don't know if I will be returning to In Touch Massage. read more
