I visit Avivage a few times a year for a massage and I am never disappointed. Most recently had a prenatal massage with Sarah. I have seen many different massage therapists and they have all been fantastic. The space is very relaxing and the beds are comfortable. Prices are very reasonable for an independent massage place that isn't part of a chain. Just to note - parking can be a pain on Grand and the surrounding streets, especially during the evenings, so give yourself plenty of time. read more

Sydney did a fabulous job. I actually felt my shoulders drop after the massage. She was professional and kind and had a quiet energy that she brought to the room. Highly recommend. read more

I tell everyone I know about Avivage! The staff is seriously amazing. They are super friendly and take the time to listen to what you need. I've had two massages so far, and both were incredible. You can tell they care and are very knowledgeable. Self-care is so important, and Avivage gets it. read more

Was looking for a place that did couples massages for a nice anniversary outing. Avivage came up on a search and I am so glad they did as the service was excellent. The space is small, but quaint and still gives you plenty of ways to shake off the day and relax. Since the space is in a "house turned business", it actually felt like being at home. We had an essential oil massage, which was a nice way to loosen the muscles but it also made the whole room aromatic, which made the experience even better. Freya was excellent and did a great job of checking in to make sure I was getting the experience I needed. I didn't catch the name of the therapist that worked on my husband, but he said he felt great afterwards and helped relieve a lot of tension. Would definitely recommend and definitely will be back! read more

Enjoyed a nice Friday evening couples massage. The location is the second story of a house on grand. You take off your shoes before entering and be sure to bring a mask. Sydney was kind and sweet and very attentive! $180 with no add ons but you can do CBD and essential oils as well. read more

Avivage Massage - Massage Therapy Near Me - Saint Paul, Minnesota

I booked a massage here because I did not want to go to a "chain" massage facility. I'm so glad I found this wonderful place. Their set up is very calming and clean. Alexandra was very professional, and I felt like she truly cared about my massage experience. Probably one of the best massages I have had in a very long time. I have already been telling multiple friends to go here. I will be a regular customer. read more

My partner decided to surprise me with a massage for our sixth month anniversary. I had absolutely no ideas what was going on. Pulling up the building appears to have been an older Saint Paul home turned business. Walking up the stairs you start to smell very therapeutic/relaxing scents. Checking in was easy and the paperwork was limited to one sheet front and back which is nice. We were set up for a couples massage together, which personally, I have never done before. We were able to choose CDB products as well which I was excited for as I've done that in the past, as for my partner it was the first time. We had about 45 minutes or so to enjoy our massages. I chose to work on my upper body /chest/shoulders/neck areas as I tent to carry heavy loads of stress. The masseuses were very kind and attentive (I'd name drop but I can't remember). They were constantly asking about the amount of pressure and or areas we wanted to work on. I highly recommend them as I love to support local small businesses and these ladies definitely knew what they were doing. read more

My girlfriend surprised me with a couples massage for the holidays. However, the couple's room had a temperature control issue. They had to keep the windows open the entire time to prevent the room from getting too hot, even though it was snowing and freezing outside. The street noise was also very distracting, which was not what I expected from a relaxing massage. My masseuse was terrible. She should not be allowed to touch anyone. I don't recall her name, but she had facial piercings, green hair, and a bull ring in her nose. Mostly she used her elbows and forearms, which caused me pain multiple times on my hip, the tops of my feet, and the backs of my hands. After I asked her to be gentler, she repeated the same motion three times on my right hip. Someone needs to train her not to use her elbows on areas without muscle. My right hip bone and the top of my foot are still sore four days later because of her elbow technique. I was constantly on edge, waiting for her to hurt me again, and the street noise was distracting. If it hadn't been for disturbing my girlfriend's massage and ruining her surprise gift, I would have ended the massage early and left. read more

I can't say enough good things about Sarah! I've had my fair share of muscle aches and tension, especially in my shoulder. Sarah's deep massage work is something I always look forward to - she's got a knack for finding critical spots and releasing their tension for a physical reset. What's even better is the atmosphere she creates. Her thoughtful coaching and calming presence help me mentally reset as well. It certainly doesn't hurt that Avivage is in such a wonderful historic space on Grand Ave. By the time the session's done, I always feel a sense of restoration. If you're looking for an effective, grounding massage therapist - Sarah is worth booking! read more

Had an amazing experience at Avivage Massage. Came here with my partner for a couples CBD massage and had found the business through Yelp. I've had professional massages before but this one was extra special because my masseuse Alexandra even provided calming meditations easing in and out of the massage. She started by doing an intake asking about problem areas and areas to focus on. After beginning, about 10 minutes in, she asked questions to make sure the pressure was good, she took a lot of care to make sure I was comfortable. There was soothing noises in the background and the room itself was dark and calming. The massage was excellent and I can't say enough good things about Avivage, I will definitely be back! 10/10 would recommend, also Alexandra was awesome and so sweet, ask for her! read more

A 60 minute massage with Freya was booked for me as a birthday gift, it was my first time to this spa. What. A. Treat! One of the first thing I noticed is that this spa makes a point on their website to ensure that customers know it is a safe space for all bodies and genders and orientations. I truly felt that when I was there which is super important to me. Freya is a phenomenal massage therapist. She is attentive to the body's feedback and seeks to thoroughly understand your needs and wants before the service begins. Also she's just sweet as pie. After the massage I sat in this seating area where they served me the BEST CUSTOM BLEND OF HERBAL TEA I'VE EVER HAD. With delicious organic chocolates as well. The tea is for sale! The spa is in a converted home which adds to the cozy feel. I truly did not want to leave. I met the owner Tai who made me feel so welcome. This was the greatest birthday treat I could have ever asked for and I'm already planning to return. read more

Customer service was great, but the massage itself wasn't for me, there was no rhythm, it was very choppy. For those reading reviews for massage places, it's like buying a pillow or looking for a stylist, you gotta keep searching until you find one that you like. My search continues. read more

There's so much that goes into a great massage experience, and Avivage hits all of those areas. First, the whole place is so serene. You feel more relaxed just walking into the space! Avivage is located in one of the old homes-turned businesses on Grand Avenue. Next.. the therapists really listen to you! I mentioned a couple of specific things I wanted to be worked on, and my therapist (Karen) addressed every one during my session. Also, she was very knowledgeable and talked me through some things and offered some suggestions to help relieve pain/tightness when I got home. Overall, loved my experience at Avivage and will definitely be back. Thanks! read more

Highly recommend Avivage Massage if you're looking for a local, quaint experience. Sarah was wonderful and welcomed feedback. She connected with me before the massage began which made the entire experience a bit more grounding. She invited me to contribute to the massage by briefly explaining my expectations or hopes for the following hour (I chose to explain that I'd like a quiet massage without chatting and my goal was to connect more with my body and less with my headspace). She is clearly well trained in not just body work but also serving others in however they come to the table. read more

I recently visited Avivage Massage - my second time here. Both times were 60 min. duo massages (first time with my friend and second time with my sister). Scheduling was very easy both times. The first time, I texted for a same-day appointment and they were able to fit us in. The most recent time, I had booked online and they confirmed via text message. Allow yourself ample time for parking as Avivage Massage is located on Grand Avenue and prepare to take your shoes off before entering into their location. I love the ambiance of the place. After checking in, we were led to the room where the service would be performed and we were consulted separately on what areas we wanted to focus on that day. I have super tense shoulders and my massage therapist, Marielle, was really able to give me the deep tissue pressure that I wanted. I felt like she really listened to my concerns and provided me what I needed. read more

Really fantastic experience! My girlfriend and I came for a couple's massage and our massage therapists were Tai and Jen. We both felt super comfortable and really enjoyed ourselves and were able to relax. Note: I wish I had known they were only accessible by stairs before coming, as I have a disability and struggle with stairs. They do have this in their FAQ but I overlooked it, which was my fault. Figured I'd mention it here in case others are in the same boat! read more

Sooo... I needed a massage and it just so happened to be my fiancé's birthday (lucky for her). I decided to get us a couples massage. After looking on yelp I found Avivage Massage and I'm so happy I did! We will never go anywhere else. Now, I'm electronically challenged, so I struggled to book the appt online. Good thing they have a number you can text! As advertised, I heard back the same day and got our appt booked. It was a sat and we booked for Tuesday morning. The other awesome thing is this is one of the only (or maybe the ONLY) black, female owned, LGBTQIA+ friendly businesses on GRAND AVE! We adore them and feel completely transformed and rejuvenated read more

What a great experience. The ambiance is so relaxing. It's nestled on the 2nd floor of a historic building and you have to take your shoes off before you walk in. You are offered water and a dark chocolate hershey kiss upon arrival. So I normally don't fall asleep in massages, but HOLY MOLY! I was on the 2nd half of my prenatal massage and I got a lil nap in! IT was so relaxing - which is the point of a massage right? Well it worked! The masseuse was so nice and so attentive. Try them out. I guarantee you will NOT forget this massage! read more

Avivage is a charming, relaxing escape in the middle of bustling Grand Ave. Located in the top floor of an historic home, this small spa retreat is unique and cozy. Incredible. One of the top 5 massage experiences I have ever received! The location is so inviting, clean, warm, and cozy. I booked a last minute appointment the night before (via text) and I was impressed that after calling for info after hours, I received a text asking how they could help. (Amazing service already!!) I arrived 15 min early and was treated to hot tea and water. Located on the second floor of a Beautiful historic home made it feel SOO cozy! Rachel was absolutely BEYOND intuitive with addressing my concerns in my shoulder and neck, and literally it was one of the best, restorative, relaxing massages I've had in my life. Thank you SOOO much Rachel. I wish I lived in St. Paul just for this magical place & people. Do not hesitate to book here! read more

This place is a special treat. My wife and I have been going to Avivage Massage for years and have had a truly great experience with every visit. A few times a year we do a couples massage - either to celebrate a special occasion, or for no reason at all. The therapists are knowledgeable, friendly, and seem to have a knack for giving you whatever you need for that day - whether it be a fun atmosphere to have a nice conversation or a quiet, comfortable place to find your inner solace. Despite our busy work schedules, they've always been accommodating and the atmosphere is very welcoming, located in a house with classic St. Paul charm. read more

My partner and I had a couples massage this week with Carmen and Ori. Both were incredible therapists. They were both super strong and able to get deep into our stubborn muscles, and gave us both an awesome full body massage that left us blissed out for the rest of the day. I feel very strongly that Ori gave me the best massage of my life, and my partner said that Carmen was an excellent therapist. This was my second time using Avivage and I appreciate that they create a really lovely and calming environment that isn't too pretentious. I also am super grateful that they ask for patient to self identify gender and have space for pronouns. Thank you for being inclusive! read more

Wow, wow, wow!!!! From start to finish Avivage Massage delivered! I called to make a reservation and got a vm, so I left a quick message. Immediately following, I got a text asking if I needed assistance. I left my response and received a follow-up call a few hours later. They're busy so I get it. After explaining I wanted a couples massage, Tai explained how the process worked and what you get in your session. Great service! Upon arrival the table was set up so nicely with our names on a sign, and two forms to fill out. There was a session taking place and we arrived super early but they were kind enough to let us sit and wait while enjoying our tea and homemade truffles! The two therapists came out and introduced themselves, all were very warm and inviting, making sure we were comfortable. We went over what we were looking for and man did they deliver! I'm sorry I can't remember their names at the moment but they were so attentive, made sure to ask if we needed to adjust anything and provided excellent massages. This was by far, THE BEST massage I've ever had. I felt like a cloud floating to Cosettas afterwards! We immediately rebooked for next month as they will be our new spot, of which we travel from across town- worth the drive! read more

Avivage is affordable, professional, and truly understands the art of massage therapy. I arrived to my massage 10 minutes late due to unexpected traffic and was frazzled because I was seeing a massage therapist I hadn't had before and I didn't want to make a bad first impression. Keely was exceptionally kind and understanding and made me feel welcomed and accepted. The ambience of the room and scent of eucalyptus erased my stress instantaneously. My partner and I had an amazing experience at Avivage! We got the essential oil infused couples massage, and booking online was a super simple process. The space was clean and inviting, and Tai and Carmen did an excellent job. Their location is accessible by bus and there's plenty of street parking in the neighborhood. As one other reviewer mentioned, they are located on the second floor of a building, so stairs are unavoidable. All of this is mentioned in the extensive FAQ on their website :) read more

I came here last week for some really painful upper back problems. I really enjoyed the experience - the masseuse was very pleasant and talked as much or as little as I wanted and focused on my problem areas while still working on other tensions spots along my body. I'm not sure what sort of Faustian bargain was exchanged between Rachel and the fella from downstairs, but my back and peace of mind are forever grateful for it. My friend and I got massages here for the first time today and both of the therapists were great, and the customer service can't be beat. They went above and beyond to make our experience wonderful.
