Oh my goodness! This is a family-owned restaurant and it is simply the best! Upon walking in we were greeted and seated with menus. The food was amazing and everything was cooked to order. So, if you are in a hurry then isn't for you. It is cooked to order and comes out fresh homemade food. It is filled with history and family oriented. They also have a little store to the side where you can purchase homemade apple butter which my husband purchased 2 quart jars. I love this place! It's a must-stop and supports local businesses . Food was fresh and expertly cooked. Joy, our server was, well, a joy! Friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, quick and responsive, always with a smile. Arrived a half hour before closing on Sunday. Beautiful older building with lovely interior. Still about 3/4 full when we were seated. Quiet overall and plenty of room to move around with your chair. I had the omelet aka victory and it was just average. A bit dry and could not taste all the ingredients or distinguish them individually. The potatoes would have been better if there were some onions cooked in. Iced tea was weak or diluted. My partner had shrimp and grits. She never had cornbread in the form of a pancake and really enjoyed it. The shrimp and grits were plentiful and tasty. She shared some with me and I agree. Next time I return I think I will order scrambled eggs with cheese and meat on the side instead of an omelet. read more

This place has high ranking with Yelp with 4.5 star average after 33 reviews. I had an early tee time at the nearby Rumbling Bald and wanted to stop in here for a post-round lunch but at 11am the place was packed. There was a waiting line and I decided to come back later. I returned about 115p since the close at 2p. There were only a couple of tables filled so my timing was better. I had some difficulty with my selection as none of their salads have iceberg lettuce. That seems to be a trend these days so I've started asking before I order. Usually you get the 'spring mix' which is romaine, arugula, cabbage, carrots and spinach. Their chicken tenders are all fried. They had no fish options. I decided to go with the french dip with a side of onion rings. It was a good choice, very tasty and the o rings were better than average. The service was good and I got steady refills on my sweet tea. The dining room is very small though they do have some big tables for large groups. Parking will be a problem if you go at prime time. This might be a good selection for breakfast if you can get there early. It was Independence weekend so it was a busy time and the weather was great so there were a lot of families out. read more

I believe that this is one of the more reasonable places to dine in the Lake Lure area. They have good home-cooked meals that don't disappoint. My favorite was Shimp and Grits. Also, the Greek Salad with Chicken was good. Our grandchildren had Chicken Tenders and Fries. On specific nights special meals are offered like fish fry and prime rib. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was like that of a home. Actually, it was an old farmhouse... There was ample parking. It is a quick ride from Rambling Bald and half the price of restaurants in the resort. It was evident that this is where the locals go as there were many contractor workers dining there when we were there. I am happy that we discovered this gem. read more

There aren't a lot of options for weekend breakfasts in the Lake Lure area, or so it seems. But Victory comes through, thankfully. It's not a big restaurant, and so you can expect to wait a bit for your seat. Hanging out on the covered porch isn't a bad thing though. Once a table opens up, service is fast and friendly, even when they're short-handed and busy. I was a little disappointed at the size of the omelets, particularly given their prices, but the flavor was good. And the breakfast sides were tasty too. The menu itself is pretty classic for Southern breakfast food. read more

Also came with a dessert with a choice of apple crisp, peach or blackberry cobbler (topped with ice cream). Not much dining in the Lake Lure area but would recommend here. This restaurant is in a White House with a front porch. We had the fish fry on the Friday special. Perfectly prepared perch, with home made coleslaw and homemade tartar sauce. Fish was quite delicious. Hush puppies were slightly sweet. Dinner included fish, fries, hush puppies, drink and dessert. Peach cobbler was superb. Lots of peaches, served hot. They are only open 5-8 on some evenings because they are mainly a breakfast and lunch place, closing at 2. We waited in a short line at about 4:45 to get in and it was well worth the wait. This was very close to the condo I was renting while visiting the Rumbling Bald for a wedding. I ordered the shrimp and grits for my meal and some pancakes/eggs/sausage for me to eat the next morning before getting back on the plane. The establishment was full. I got there and added myself to the wait list. About 45 minutes later a table was available. I was seated, ordered, and had about 7 cups of coffee before my food arrived. The shrimp and grits were okay. I think by the time my food got to me i was so hungry, i didnt care about the taste. But prepared for a wait when you get in. This definitely is not a fast food type of place, it will take a bit. I know you arent supposed to heat up pancakes, eggs, or sausage. But i def dont recommend it with that entree. This place seems to be the talk of the town and it comes highly recommended from anyone that's been here so naturally I had to try it. Everywhere around this part of North Carolina requires a drive it seems, fortunately for me I was staying next door at the AVF MotorCoach Resort close enough to walk but not this early in the morning. The wooden porch gives this place a certain nostalgic kinda feel this feeling continues when you walk through the door and photos doesn't do it justice - it's definitely one of those places that prides itself for its home cooking and time seems to stand still once you find your seat. The staff is very friendly and they wear many hats and share the duties so chaos is not out of the question, they clean the tables, take the orders, work the cash register and disappear into the kitchen often, only to reappear carrying plates of food table to table looking for the table that matches the food in hand. When a restaurant reaches legendary status complacency can become the norm no matter the frustrations by the customers they will continue to come I will say the quality of the food is outstanding but expect to wait for it each dish is prepared to order one order at a time the kitchen is not known for its ability to multitask. We ordered eggs, country ham, grits, hash browns and biscuits with coffee. The coffee is really good and I drank plenty of it, the wait was excruciating as I watched one plate at a time come from the kitchen and we had at least a dozen people ahead of us - once the plates arrived everything was perfect and delicious and the staff although unapologetic are really friendly and professional and the prices are moderate I wouldn't mind paying a few extra bucks for a meal if this would improve the wait time and get them fully staffed. Such a cozy little restaurant! As soon as you walk in, you're met with a sign, asking you to be patient as the food is cooked to order. Something I appreciate. We sat down, and our server friendly and attentive. Food didn't take long at all! It was quite delicious like a real home-cooked meal. The biscuits were delicious. Between a biscuit and a roll. We were on our way to Lake Lure for a craft fair and decided to go about 15 minutes north of Lake Lure to try Victory Kitchen. A word of caution: our GPS told us about a mile before it that we had arrived. Keep going! Pass the golf course and it will be on your left coming from Lake Lure. If you are in a hurry or do not like to wait, do not go here. Each dish is made to order and it is worth the wait. My husband had an omelet and our son and I had traditional eggs, bacon, etc. I like sunny side up but rarely get them prepared correctly and they were perfect! read more

The restaurant is in a beautiful old house. We were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in. My boyfriend ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with a bowl of cheese grits. On our way out of Lake Lure, we stopped here for a quick breakfast. The staff was so kind and friendly, asking us about our vacation and refilling our coffee cups. If you are staying in the lake lure area, avoid the restaurants in the main area of lake lure and travel to the northern part and visit this gem. If you are staying in rumbling bald, this is a short drive. You might miss it but it is in an old white house with a beautiful setting. Victory kitchen has it all: great service, great food, good atmosphere, great prices and it is very clean. We came as a group of 14 in the evening at 5 and we didn't have a problem getting a seat. Note: they are only open a few nights and the menu is the same as lunch with the exception of a nightly special. Most of our group got the shrimp and grits and the others got the fried chicken special (chicken, creamed corn, tomato with cucumber, green beans, roll and a dessert (cheesecake), all for 11.99. All the food was amazing. If you like shrimp and grits, you must try them. The service was also very friendly! Give the place a try if you like great food at an even better price. read more
