This small but nice restaurant is down town away from the touristy section where all the hawkers are. The service was friendly and attentive. We sat outside and enjoyed margaritas/beer and their very delicious guacamole. The jalapeño/pesto sauce they served with the chips was also delicious. If you are looking for a nice, quiet place for a time out, try this place. read more

We were in Ensenada for a wedding and this breakfast spot came highly recommended by quite a few of the guests so we decided to check it out! They staff was so friendly and the service was perfect! Everything everyone ordered was delicious and they served very large portions! All of our breakfasts came with a little plate of pancakes too! Let just say I was stuffed! Hotel attendant recommended this place that was across the street from our hotel. While food was very tasty. The service was awful. We sat at a corner window table and were completely ignored most of the time there. Each meal.come.with pancakes if I didn't have to check out of my hotel I would still be waiting for my pancakes, they never came. I paid my portion and walked out. Came here looking forward to the "machaca" and it was disgusting!! Not authentic machaca and had a nasty flavor and the hashbrowns were swimming in oil. My boyfriend got the guevos a la chata plate and his was nasty, the chicharrones taste like the pork wasnt cleaned right. Over all the worst food we've had here and the most we've spent. Victor's is a bit off the tourist path but, if you are visiting Ensenada, it's worth the walk or taxi ride from the hotel zone. We came on a Sunday and the restaurant was packed so there was a bit of a wait for a table. Our waiter spoke good English and it seemed like he was always showing up at the right time for coffee refills. My eggs poblano, stuffed with chorizo, were terrific and my wife enjoyed her chilaquiles. Every order also comes with some pancakes. This time the service was horrible, we had to ask the cashier if someone was going to take our order because people sitting after us were already being attended. Our waiter came all grumpy. This is the second time we're have been here and I have to say I'm disappointed in the service. We were put in a corner and ignored. Food was good but service was bad. When we complained they didn't care or apologize. I don't expect 5 star service but we should at least get food in a timely manner or asked for refills at least once. We stopped here while on a day trip to Ensenada. My husband and I ordered the chilaquiles. They were tasty, but the portions were big because it came with 2 small pancakes. The kids enjoyed their kids portion pancakes. The food was great, my husband really raved about the salsa. The reason I gave 4 stars was that because of the service. It took awhile to just take our order. I understand they were really busy, but two other tables that arrived after us ordered and received their food before us. We had to flag down a server. We ordered chilequiles, pancakes, and some other eggy item. The food is fine but it is nothing amazing. I think Victor's is like the equivalent of Ihop or Denny's in LA. Our Airbnb described in that way, saying we could get more exciting Mexican breakfast elsewhere and I think that's true. However, if you want to eat food that is alright and will fill you up in a generic breakfast chain restaurant this place might be for you. Friendly service! read more

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Went in on a busy Sunday morning and got seated right away regardless of the big crowd. Ordered a plate of machaca with hash browns, beans, and an over easy egg. Very impressed with the quality of food and service. Waiters were friendly and responsive and checked in with us constantly. What really hit the jackpot for me was the fact that "hot cakes " aka pancakes but better, are served with every meal. What a score! Will definitely be re-visiting this location when I return to Ensenada. read more

The food is pretty good. Average by my standards and I live in a border town in the U.S. The hospitality is where they really fall short. Restaurant is nice and clean looking, servers appear to be honest and humble but in reality there sketchy and dont treat you like a dumb tourist so they think they can get away with stuff for Example: we all ordered our food at the same time, chilaquiles, scramble plates ect. One of us ordered a sandwich, the easiest thing on the menu to make and they didnt bring it out until we all finished eating our food. We asked multiple times, they didnt believe us at first thinking he must have eaten it and taken his own plate back down to the kirchen. And after finally bringing it no apologies compensation, nothing. Pancakes were supposed to be included for all orders, we didnt receive the pancakes until we asked for then during eating all our food, THEN waaaay later when we were ready to just go then they brought them. They asked everyone around us what the needed, and were very attentive towards others but is was like our table was invisible. We asked for ketchup from one of the servers and instead of going and getting some, they took ketchup from my friends plate and passed it to me. I couldnt believe it. He then looked at me waiting to see what I would do, almost like he was challenging me. All in all decent food good prices, chilequilles plate was 11 bucks with coffee, but expect a little bit of bias if your american. You have to speak your mind here and pay attention. read more

We went at 12 hoping for lunch, but all they had was the breakfast menu. We ordered very simple plates and there were only five of us, yet it took 45 minutes to receive our food. It appears that the kitchen (in the basement) must be very small as we could see a ten minute window between meals being delivered to various tables. They did give us complementary pancakes about half hour after we ordered, but still the slow service was unacceptable. The food, according to the other four , was average, but my gorditas were completely inedible. The tortillas were about 1/4 inch thick and must have been stale, so I had to scrape the filling out and request flour tortillas to make a miniature burrito. The waiter said the gorditas were normal, although he didn't even try them. Finally, it was overpriced, not severely, but for mediocre food it should be priced accordingly. Suffice it to say, more than an hour and 15 minutes after ordering we returned to the hotel and saw another family eating Carls Jr. we all commented that would have been a better choice. read more
