I do like to get fitted when it's time to buy new bras just so I can make sure I'm getting the right size. Sonja greeted me warmly, with no judgment, and helped me find three bras that work well for me. She also gave me some advice on bra care, which is helpful because although I know I had learned some of it before I also had forgotten it. Some of what I learned: - Bra manufacturers anticipate one getting 10-12 months of wear out of a bra. - You should not be able to get more than two fingers under the band of your bra. - When purchased, bras should fit on the first set of hooks; the others are for when your bra inevitably begins to stretch out a bit. - Wear your bra no more than two days in a row. The heat of your body will contribute to the breakdown of the band (the heat is what helps stretch it out) so giving a 24 hour rest will help maintain the garment. Bare Moxie carries a good selection in even larger sizes, and if they don't have the color you want they can order it for you. I made an order of one of the bras in a fashion color that should get here in 30-45 days (it's a color that isn't shipping yet, which is why it will take so long). What's nice is that they'll call me when it comes in and since I opted to have them ship it to my home rather than me go pick it up, they'll ship it for free. Service was great, selection is great. I won't mince words; it's not inexpensive in the least, but it's possible that in smaller sizes than mine there may be some lower cost options. Absolutely a place folks should visit if they're looking for personal assistance in purchasing a bra--especially for someone getting their first bra!--or needs a harder to find size. They see clients by appointment only, so plan ahead and you can set it up on their website.
