Supreme Lighting and Electric Supply - Celebrating 50 years in 2021!

I have passed the store a few dozen times cutting through Laidlaw to get to Highway 7, but never had the chance to or needed to stop in. As soon as you walk in the showroom they have their counter space and desks to the left, so there is usually someone to greet you once you walk in. It didn't take more than 15 seconds for someone to approach me & ask if i needed any help. They didn't try to up-sell me on anything more expensive than what i was looking for. Answered all of our questions and really knew all of the products really well. Their showroom is very inviting with all the different styles of contemporary, modern, classic lighting options. Lots of lighting for indoor & outdoor plus they sell various shapes & sizes of energy saver bulbs. They didn't have style i was looking for, but it only took a couple of minutes to locate it in the catalogue and order it. The pricing was fantastic and beat everything i found online and at other lighting stores in Toronto. I went in to buy 1 kitchen light and ended up buying 2 because the price was so great - we got a deal on pricing for purchasing more than 1 product. Plus i wanted the 2 fixtures in the kitchen to match, so it worked out great. We placed an order on a Saturday and by Wednesday of the following week our lights were in! If you don't have an electrician, they have a 3rd party they can refer you to (doesn't work for Supreme LIghting) than can quote you based on the product and time it will take. Now it's time for some new outdoor lighting and i'm looking forward to going back to the showroom!

The location is superb for people who live north of Toronto. The showroom is a good size. There are lights for every room in a house, including hallways. There are many styles, mostly classic mainstream, contemporary and some latest LED lights. There is a separate room for chandeliers. The design of the various lights are quite nice. What I like is that the 2 salespeople I talked are knowledgeable about the built quality, the materials used and the history and reputation of the manufacturers of the few lighting fixtures I inquired. The pricing is higher than the usual Home Depot or Canadian Tire stocks, but that is to be expected. It seems to be cheaper than Union Lighting to me. There are some items on sale. Those items are priced very competitively.

I wrote a review on the old page, then told Yelp HD of the new address. === Crystal World is a wholesaler of crystal lighting, such as chandeliers, table lamps, wall light fixtures, etc. It is also in the business of wedding decor rental. You can rent directly from them, bypassing any middlemen or wedding planners. Since CW is a wholesaler, I didn't buy directly from it, but instead through one of its distributors. I like a few things about buying Crystal World products: 1) CW is a big wholesaler. Its distributors range from independent boutiques to chained stores (eg Living Lighting) to big boxers (eg Home Depot). I like the assurance that a wholesaler of this scale can provide, such as warranty 2) CW's warehouse is local. Unless an item is out of stock, customers usually get the lights they order in a week. No need to pay then wait 2 months to pick up your goods 3) I bought from a small lighting retailer just 10 minutes drive from CW's head office. My selection was not limited to the samples hung on the ceiling. I was allowed to select ANY LIGHT FROM SIX CATALOGUES. I felt like I was shopping from the wholesaler's warehouse. Though some selections were not what I was looking for, I nevertheless appreciated the freedom to choose. The shopping experience, unusually so for lighting fixtures, was liberating, fast, and one-stop-shopping convenient. 4) The built quality is okay enough. What we bought is no European light fixture, but it is good enough. And pretty enough. I can't comment much on prices, because it depends on where you buy from. Some stores let you negotiate, while some don't.

Sadly, over the years we've had some issues with the switch. We've tried to fix it ourselves and we suspected it needed a whole new socket. We attempted to dismantle it to no avail and I had even tried to find somewhere to take it but didn't have much luck at the time. I knew it was going to take forever to find it's equal. It had taken us ages to find this lamp and I was sad to think that it had seen its last days. In one last ditch effort, I searched again for a company that we might be able to take it to... and I found Ajax Lighting. I gave them a call and they said to bring it in. It has a beautiful oil rubbed bronze finish and I'm not going to lie, I was a little worried it would end up getting scratch but a few days later, I had it back and it looks and works perfectly! I couldn't be happier! I would definitely recommend Ajax Lighting for repairs.

We came here to get…read moreinspiration and to check out some lighting IRL instead of just me imagining through Pinterest. We wanted some statement lights over our dining table and kitchen counters. I don't understand why there are such low ratings here. I'm sure many people here are just browsing, and I rather have a sales rep give us the space and only come to us if we need help and seriously find a piece we're considering. So I have no issues with how no one really came up to us. There's a lot of lighting, but personally, not enough contemporary/modern lighting to our liking. We did take some pictures of the few we liked that are more contemporary-inspired. However, we don't love it enough to pull the trigger. The prices for the lighting are very high for the ones we looked at, about $1500 (for that round chandelier) to $5600 (Criss Cross silver lighting). We liked the look of the round chandelier the most. To our surprise, our neighbour has the same one. So loses that unique appeal. Also don't know how we would change the light if it burns out? Lighting is all personal preference. This trip nothing really screamed "this is the one" for us. If you're into other design themes like traditional, industrial, mid-century modern etc, you may find there is more to your liking than the modern/contemporary styles here. I still recommend to check it out though for yourself if you're in the market for lighting.

I ordered some additional fittings for a ceiling fan I had purchased. Their website indicated the fittings were compatible; however, once I had placed the order, I discovered they would not work. I contacted them immediately as the items hadn't been shipped yet. They refused to refund the order, even though the items didn't ship for another week and a half after I had ordered them. So, I now have $400 worth of unopened ceiling fan fittings that I can't use. This company is out of touch with their strict no refund policy on some items--no wonder people shop at amazon. I really wanted to support a local company, but I will never shop there again, and I would caution you against doing so, too.
