Hi- I've never written a yelp review before and probably never will again but needed to in this case to let people know just how horrible this place is. We rented a suit here for the grooms party for my friends wedding, 10 men, $300 per suit. My first issue with them was when i called to give my measurements, my phone call was answered by a very rude man who told me I could not possibly be that shape and size and they needed to come in (I'm pretty normal 6'1 190 lbs). I live in Manhattan so it is not very easy to get to. After some back and forth and a very complex plan involving an longtrain and expensive uber ride, I went into the store to get measured. This was the only somewhat pleasant part of the experience. He threw a suit on and measured me, no big deal in and out in ten minutes. When i checked the measurements vs. what I had tried to provide over the phone the only difference was the inseam on the suit jacket which was a one inch off (mine over the phone was longer). The wedding day came and it was time for me to get the suit. I had a friend pick it up since I live in Manhattan and it is not easy to get to. He gave my friend trouble saying they don't really give the suits to wedding party members etc. After some back and forth he finally let my friend take the suit. At the rehearsal dinner the friends who had picked up the suits warned me how poorly they fit and that they had to go back to have them adjusted. The wedding morning I put on my custom suit to find that the sleeves were about five inches shorter than they should have been. The suit clearly hadn't been altered from it's last "custom fitting." The pants, aren't custom at all they were a no belt one size fits most pants. I spent the entire day with my hands in my pockets to avoid the embarrassingly short jacket sleeves showing. When the suit was returned I complained about the size of the suit. They offered to return my $50 deposit even though I was "late, and the wedding was weeks ago." I never signed a contract or anything saying when to return the suit and the suit was returned 8 days after the wedding. After dealing with this company I decided to see how much these "custom suits" were online. The Ike Behar Evening Suit we had rented were for sale on many websites (for purchase not rent) at $150-$300. Moral of the story, avoid this place at all costs. You can buy much nicer suits for $200 or $250 and spend another $50 to have them completely tailored to fit your body (and they will actually fit your body) and it's something you can keep for more than 8 days. For any competition of Viktor Talbots, if you are going to be in the business of custom suits please at least provide your customers with well fitting suits and/or good customer service and experience because this was overall horrible. I would imagine any good recommendations on this page are from family and or friends of the owner or employees. read more

Enzo Enzo Enzo !!! He is the man to see here when you come. You want someone who is cool calm and collective. This guys knows his stuff and knows how to make you stand out and look sharp. Ask for Enzo when you need to get a tux, suit, or sport jacket. So one of my oldest friend was getting married and I happened to be one of groomsmen. So the groom told me to head over to Victor Talbots. I wanted to rent a tuxedo and I tried on the "rented " Michael Kors tuxedo and Enzo showed me what a quality Hugo Boss feels like. Immediately I could tell the difference in quality between the rented tux and Hugo boss tux. I contemplated on the price of the tux but I said to myself I will need a tux at least for a handful of weddings in the coming future so it only made sense to buy one. Keep in mind it comes with lifetime alterations if needed. And they also steam and press it for you. When the big day arrived I felt like a million bucks. I have never owned my own tuxedo and now I have one and now I want another one from Victor talbots. It feels great owning one and not having to rush back to return a tux which I have done in the past. We only have one life so why not look good. Now don't come here with your pockets empty cause this ain't no men's warehouse. This is prime time quality. First class goods here. Certain things are somewhat overpriced here but it beats having to go around trying to find what you need when victor talbots has everything you need. Enzo helped me the minute I walked in till the second I walked out. I wouldn't want anyone else helping me. He knows his stuff and he knows how to make you look good. I can't forget about Henry the master tailor that is on premise. He is very warm and kind and is very precise. If he has to do multiple alterations he will in order to make it perfect. Henry is great ! The 2 wonderful ladies who are sisters are wonderful. They both are very kind and respectable and they offer advice and will tell you what looks good and what doesn't. Thank you to the team at Victor Talbots. Let me just say I know when people bull shit me and just want to make a sale but Enzo is the man to see. I came here to get a tux for my wedding and had an absolutely incredible experience. We worked with Gary and I can tell you hands down he made the experience amazing. He understood my style immediately and put together my outfit quickly and perfectly. He was such a pleasure to chat with. People like him are VERY rare in retail. Everyone in the store was very warm and made us feel like we were the center of their attention. I could not hold this store and their employees in a higher esteem. Victor Talbots??? It all started 18 months ago when Darren sold me my first piece of what I would be addicted to, suit, well it was actually a tuxedo for my wedding. The service they give would make you go on a shopping spree and easily can be blind with the prices. People need to understand in this industry, actually in this WORLD, you pay for what you get! Quality over Quantity. I am 29 years old and I work in the hospitality business and Victor and his team dress me to the 9, well 10 lol. They do alterations there and they are good for life! You can let your suits, shirts, anything tailored that you bought from them be and its free for life. May I just add, the sales team teaches you style, taught me what to look for and how to feel in a suit. They also come through for my weekend wedding work, and tailored my work tux to look like its $$$$ when it's just a $100 outfit. The cashier girl, twins, are so sweet and always compliment you on anything your wearing even if it wasn't bought from them. You must go here if you are like me and don't want to wear the same pattern, style, that everyone has and bought at Nordstrom or Bloomingdales. Suits are $800 and up (comes with alterations that would be $400+ separately). Ties are $200+ Dress shirts vary. They carry all great brands but the best brand in the shop is there own, Victor Talbots. Also, they have there own cologne!! Very impressed with this place on Glencove road, and there is a great restaurant around the corner on 7acres of lush gardens called The Swan Club :) Def the best of the best.. No questions asked, just stop in by a tie, just to see the quality, and i will promise you it will be your favorite in your closet for many years!!! Or until you get another one at Victors! The first time I had the privilege to step into Victor Talbots was 5 years ago. I had taken a ride with a close Freind to drop off a tuxedo he had rented for event. Upon entering I was completely blown away by the displays, accessories, suits and ties adorning the store. I had always dreamed of having the opportunity to be able to go back one day on my own accord to get fitted for a suit of my own from this very establishment. I had recently gotten my film accepted into the Beverly Hills film festival and knew exactly the place that would be able to cultivate and deliver the kind of power suit that makes a statement on a red carpet. First let me just say that everyone at Victor Talbots are the best in the industry and masters of the art. However I had the distinct pleasure of being taken care of by Gary. Gary had put together my entire ensemble in no Time at all, watching him work was almost comparable to watching Michael Angelo pick up a paint brush. Words can't describe how happy we were with the service! They made us feel like we we're home surrounded by family! So glad we chose to come here for our wedding! My husband and I walked in one rainy day in search of a place to rent a grooms tux and were greeted by Enzo. He was dressed sharp and tailored with not a hair or thread out of place. Turns out all the staff is like that and they always look like that. Then and there i knew this place would be on top of their service and merchandise. You can easily see that they withhold an image of professionalism, and that they were proud and dedicated to their company's appearance. I was taken back by how clean and organized the shop is and how friendly the staff was. We were offered water and espresso ( which is DELICIOUS). Enzo took care of us as if we were family. He focused on every detail and made sure every piece of my husbands tux was perfect. The tailor as well who we met in person was a perfectionist and made sure he did things as many times as needed to leave it seamless and perfect. We decided to buy my husbands tux and brought our fathers grandfathers and groomsmen here. The service was spot on. We all were comfortable and were given undivided attention. Everyone the night of looked sharp. Even the gentlemen that rented the tuxs looked amazing. They focus on detail and fit so that the rental looks like a custom made tux and that was a blessing. Our ring bearer stole the show looking like james bond! Highly recommend their white evening jacket rental for kids! It was stunning. My husband is so excited to go back for a few suites for upcoming events. I definitely feel like home there. They even couldn't wait to see our pictures when we dropped off rental items the day after. They are truly one of a kind sweethearts there. Went to Victor Talbots for a tuxedo rental for my upcoming wedding. Came very highly recommended. I brought my Fiancee in with me so we could look at the selection before we brought others in our wedding party. We worked with Gary. When I said I wanted to rent he immediately tried selling me on the purchase of a tuxedo since a rental would not fit right. I told him that I work in business and wear a suit everyday and there are certain labels that fit me perfectly. I could not get a word in edgewise with Gary since he thought he new better than I do about what does and does not fit me. Continuing with selling me on a purchase I explained I only have one other black tie event in the near future and was not sure if I could cost justify a $995.00 purchase versus a $225.00 rental. He said there was a nominal difference in cost between the two. He made it very clear through his body language and attitude that he could not be bothered with renting me a tuxedo. It was not worth his time to help me with a rental. Every time I asked a question he responded as I should already know the answer. Just simply rude. I work in sales for a living and I would never assume someone's budget without asking or try and size them up by their age, how they are dressed, etc. Out of principal we left and went somewhere else to purchase where the salespeople could not have done more to assist us. I came to Victor Talbots to get a tux for my wedding. Being a short guy at 5'5" where things don't always fit me like the mannequin, coming to Victor talbots to get a Bespoke piece of clothing was the way to go. I had a great experience with them. The guys on the floor payed close attention to what I wanted and helped steer my decisions in the right direction without being condescending or pushy at all. I received attention from Victor himself who could not have been more down to earth and professional as well as Gary who stepped in and was on top of his game when victor wasn't available. The tailors' attention to detail was awesome and gave me a lot of confidence as getting a tux for your wedding day is a big deal.
