Never have enough cashiers. I have walked out a few times. The people who work there are wonderful and helpful.

Two cashiers? Really? I guess this store has no interest in customer service nor to make money by moving merchandise. People have been leaving without buying anything because the line is longer than most department stores. Sad! I stopped into TJ Maxx to grab a few items. This is not one of their better locations, but it was hardly bad. I found some Crabtree & Evelyn skin cream, and some Hopificio bar soap. The line to pay was long, and it moved very slowly. The store has a large parking lot, and the price, as always, was very fair. I'll be back! read more

A decent location. Staff is friendly at the cashier. I was in the store for about an hour and did not come across one sales person: The store did seem very empty - I suppose right after the holidays and turning around stock. A lot of the cosmetics were leaking or had been opened. The bathrooms here are not sanitary. I feel that this was very disappointing - feces in the bathroom on the toilet and in the toilet. THE MOST RUDE STAFF. I asked for help from three workers, and nobody wanted to help me. They all pointed at another worker and said ask her. The manager ( short spanish woman with short thin hair) is rude as hell. All i asked was to check the price of an item because they were the sa.e yet priced differently. And she made such a scene about it. Then she said she didn't wanna deal in spanish like I won't understand. If you don't wanna deal work somewhere else. As for the store, it's the same as other t.j.max around. Cluttered but you can find some decent deals if you really look. read more

What can I say it's TJMaxx....always stocked up on name brand and high end designer brands, great seasonal decor with many opinions to choose from depending on home style. A little something for everyone. Lines at this particular store are awful most anytime of the day but worth it for the cost savings. read more

Maxxinista's unite! Plenty of parking. Fairly organized store. Large variation of products from mens/womens/kids apparel, jewelry, shoes, bags, beauty products, pet toys, luggage, and all sorts of home goods. The best part is that the store never gets too crazy but the lines can get pretty long at times. The worst part is the bathrooms. Totally gross so hold it in until you get home. The store isn't fancy but they have the lowest prices hands down. I always end up leaving with something I didn't even know I needed. TJ maxx really holds a special place in my heart. read more

I'm making the best effort to write reviews going forward, as I myself often rely on Yelp reviews when visiting an establishment. With that said, I wish I can give this store 1/2 of a star on customer service experience alone. But please note, this is the customer service experience from someone who is black, and in my experience today, my race mattered. It's not from an angle of paranoia, but from straight facts of what occurred. My husband and I visited this location TJMaxx store, as we have in the past, and enjoy the selection here. While shopping, my husband found what was a good deal: a 24" checkered Ben Sherman suitcase on clearance for $56. I informed him to check the wheels and open the bag to make sure they're no issues. While opening the bag, the price ticket was attached to the zipper and fell off. Jokingly, I said to my husband, "hope they don't give you any issues when you go to pay." Boy was my foreshadowing correct! Since we were still shopping, he brought he suitcase to the front and asked that they hold it until we were ready to pay. He gave the associate the price tag & informed her that it fell off while trying to open the bag. She said okay. When back to pay, we informed the associate that the suitcase standing behind the cashier was ours. Immediately, the store manager Pam (wish I got her last name) interjected and told the associate "that can't be the right ticket because it's Ben Sherman and that's a more expensive brand." My husband and I told her that was the correct ticket and it fell off when trying to open the suitcase. Unfortunately, Pam looked at us and decided she did not want to hear it. She insisted to us that the bag should be more expensive and our ticket was incorrect. My husband told her we found the bag in the clearance section and it was the last one or else we would have brought another one, but she wanted to go "look" for herself. I asked my husband to go with Pam since I had my kids with us, and also because I decided to keep my blood pressure low for the Lent season. While browsing the clearance luggage section, Pam showed my husband an Anne Klein suitcase with a higher price tag and told him, "Ben Sherman is more expensive than Anne Klein and this bag is $69, so there's no way your bag is $56." My husband started getting angry and told her, "Miss I didn't just pick up a random ticket, it fell off when I tried to open the bag." As a customer, this had already gone too far. But Pam insisted that my husband's tag story was not making sense. Disclaimer: my husband is way more patient than me because I would have left Pam and her bags in the back and left the store, but he really liked this checkered Ben Sherman suitcase and knew he had the correct ticket. Right as they were about to leave the section, Pam saw a red Ben Sherman suitcase on clearance. Aha! She was ready to prove us wrong! The price on the red BS suitcase: $56-same price as the checkered one we had, proving that my husband was never lying all along. Really Pam! Instead of apologizing, Pam said okay and just started walking to the associate's only room. My husband being angry and embarrassed, asked for her name and told her that he wanted an apology. She only replied that her name was Pam, a manager, no apologies-no remorse for putting a customer (a TJX cardholder at that) through the Spanish Inquisition. Instead she sent out a male associate to tell the associates in the front that our price was correct. He did offer a further discount on the bag, but that was not the point. Pam never came out to apologize for her accusations, her denial of our truth, and dare I say it her treatment of customers who look like me, black. Yes I said it because it is true. I am thrilled that in 2017, we are no longer afraid to call out things just for what it is. Like many other people of color, my husband and I are not not race baiters, we are paying customers just like everyone else. However, our shopping experiences are different as a result of internalized racism and implicit biases from people like Pam. TJ MAXX is a great store, but I have experienced similar issues at other locations in the past and need to start calling them out. Perhaps they can work on they diversity trainings a little more because whatever is being taught, or lack thereof, needs to be worked on. As a customer, we should have never had to spend 15 minutes trying to "prove" to Pam that we were not lying about the ticket falling off. She and the store may say otherwise, but there were other customers behind us, yes white people, who saw what occurred, and felt bad for us. So I'd like to call out Pam, TJ MAXX Manager, for her awful behavior and let her know that people like her are why we still have racial issues in 2017. Shame on you Pam! For years the worst store ever! About once a year I'm able to forget the horrible experience I had the year before and since it is close to my house try it "one more time" For some reason the managers insist on only having two to three registers open when there is constantly a line of 30-40 people waiting. This would be a beyond easy fix but apparently the management in this one store just doesn't care. Not only are they constantly understaffed for years but the few people they do have at the registers really seem not to care and almost appear to be as slow as possible as to not work harder than anyone else. I am online now at the register and had time to sign up for Yelp, confirm the sign up in my email and write this review. All while at the register for about 10 items. Right before I got called up to the register the woman at the register while looking at a line of 40 decided she needed to winded her entire station very slowly and for about 3 min. I also made the mistake tonight of trying to purchase three bottles of coffee syrup. The woman assisting me went to the end of the section (about 25 feet) to wrap each bottle in tissue paper) and rather than taking all three bottles down and wrapped them at the same time instead choose to walk to the tissue paper three separate times and did one bottle at a time. I fully appreciate these employees don't make much money. With that said if you totally don't care about your job and morale is terrible find another job! And the cherry on top of the experience was the sales woman overpacked a very thin brown bag and as I was walking out the bag ripped on the bottom right in front of the last register who just stared at me with my items on the floor I then asked after 30 secs "would you mind getting me Another bag?" I won't be coming back to this location ever The Elmont store has a much better and up to date items and unlike this store they bother to separate the clothes and items into sections Save yourself go anywhere else read more

I just just off the phone with Rick, one of the store managers. He is the reason I'm writing this review right now. I bought a belt from them 2 weeks ago and just broke, i'm not sure if it was just a shotty belt or that i'm fat! HA! Anyway, I don't have the receipt or anything and he is exchanging the belt for me no questions ask. That is what I call a good manager. Big parking lot, store is much larger and full of inventory unlike the one in Rego Park and the lines move really fast no matter how long it gets. This TJ Maxx is very well organized, all of the racks are full. The only downside I personally feel about this spot, the prices weren't as low as I expected. The mark downs were mostly roughly 30-40% off. I'm looking for 60 and up. The one in Whitestone, I've found some incredibly low priced high quality clothes. Over here, they have the quality, but the price tags just doesn't appeal to my eye. I'll come back again in a few more weeks. read more

I love bargain shopping. With that said, tj maxx is a great place to indulge your inner budget fashionista without shelling out ridiculous amounts of dollars. As with all these types of discount fashion stores, you really have to be ready to dig and search through racks and more racks of clothes. The different sections are organized well enough, but you have to search with an open mind and accept that sometimes you may walk out without finding the particular piece you are looking for. The great thing about this Tj Maxx is that they have a runway section, where they have the especially premium high-end brands that other branches of the store do not carry. read more

I get it its holiday season but at least make the best of it and don't be rude. When I applied for my job in Greenvale, I'm pretty sure proximity to this store factored into my decision. Sure enough, whenever I find myself back in the area, I give the place a go for old time sake. The selection is ok, which brings us up from one star. However, there are never more than three registers open at a time, and I have never seen lines as long as at this location. The employees not only do not care, they ignore the growing line. Only go out of necessity. read more
