Great Costco! I used to go to the Westbury one but that one was way too crowded. I usually go at opening or closing for a nice quiet shopping trip. The staff here are very lovely as well. Cello is the best! I have utilized the tire center here as well and they always have great service. Definitely great value for the membership. This is a great Costco location! I came here when the Westbury Costco's bakery was closed and the bakery here is great! It's also much less crowded than the Westbury location. Highly recommend and the cake for our baby shower was made to our specifications and the staff was friendly and helpful. The chocolate on chocolate is very tasty especially for the price. read more

We have had Costco warehouse club memberships shared in my family for a long time. I remember when Costco was still called Price Club and my buddy had a membership and we would go there to shop for our roadtrip ski trips. The frozen Wings of Fire are addicting and we polish off a 5 lb bag in one weekend! When our son was born, Costco was always there, fully stocked with formula & diapers and we'd load up the car with several hundred dollars worth of each. When I started my current job, they offered a discounted BJ's membership, so we started buying less from Costco for a while. But more recently, my son has had to use Costco while away at school, so we got him an extra membership card. It is also super convenient to have on road trips now that Costco has started offering discounted gas. This Costco in Melville is one of the older ones and gas pumps were never installed. It is one of the busier ones because cars are always parked out to Broadhollow Rd. But if you go in through the back entrance on Ruland Rd, you stand a better chance of getting a good parking spot. One of the best time-saving items at Costco is the ready-to-cook prepared foods like stuffed salmon, beef pinwheels, meatloaf or chicken pot pies that you can pop into the oven or some of the ready-to-eat dishes like shrimp cocktail or chicken salad. They are also famous for their $4.99 whole rotisserie chickens, hot out of the oven. The food service counter is one of the best things about Costco and one that BJ's can no longer match, as they have eliminated theirs. A lot of things have changed about Costco over the years, but one of the constants is the hot dog deal. Since like 1988, you can get a 1/4 lb hot dog on a bun and a refillable 20 oz drink for the bargain price of $1.50. The founder of Costco has almost guaranteed this as long as he's alive. Other prepared foods have rotated, but that and the $1.99 pizza slice are constant. I will miss the $4 sausage & peppers sandwich and the $1 churros though. read more

This Costco is fine. Much better than Westbury (no surprise there, the Westbury location is atrocious). Parking is okay but absolutely no place to put carts back within the lot which causes issues. Inside is spacious. The checkout line is terrible. One long line that doesn't split until you're right against the registers. Only one employee managing the line. Food court is smack against the line where they check your receipt before you leave which is a design flaw but it is what it is. Okay location. read more

I've been a Costco member since 1993 and I can honestly say that this is the best managed store I've ever been to. All the employees I see have a smile on their faces and they project a sense of pride. They treat you with respect and are always available to help. The tire shop is amazing good prices excellent warranty and perfect balancing! Yes the lines to pay are long but they move very fast because they have employees that actually scan the items in your cart before you reach the register. We went on a Sunday before Christmas. It's packed like a madhouse but usually I like that it's not as crowded as the Westbury location. Although Costco always manages to look way more crowded than BJs for some reason.. However as other reviews said it lacks in variety of prepared foods (Asian-no poke or sushi or seaweed and other Asian spices) and doesn't have lamb. The $1.50 hotdog is a great value! lol cheapest snack I've had in a while (although we waited 30 minutes to get it) also I got some discounted gift cards that took 20 minutes to redeem because manager was not there. They only had stamps that were flag design, no Christmas theme even though the website said so. Employees wee friendly. Not a long wait on the checkout line. Also the exit required you to make a left turn on a busy side street, was a bit rough. Nice and spacious location for Costco... large parking lot with ample spot and best of course parking is free. Just remember where you park your car. Inside is just as big and aisles are marked so it makes it easy to find what you are looking for. This location is easy to find things most of the time... came here a couple of times for specific items and able to find it. Great for Costco members. Staff is helpful and will direct if one cannot find specific items. Fresh salmon here is great for making sashimi - yum! Holiday shopping is great here especially for party items. Candies, chocolates, platters and all. Check out is easy - can either go to self-check out or to the register and staff is helpful as they make the checkout process quick and seamless. read more

This is my go to Costco because it's never as crowded as the Westbury one. The only negative is it doesn't have as much Asian products as the Westbury location if that's what you're into. The weekends here are crowded but lines do move relatively quickly. They have I believe 6 self checkout stations and then your regular cashiers. An FYI, if you have any recycled containers receipts, you cannot use them at self checkout. There is free parking which I don't have an issue finding unless I'm shopping on the weekends. You can still find one then but just a little more of a walk to the entrance. They recently started implementing the scanning of your Costco ID cards at the door and there's always an employee at the scanning machines. You can either scan the physical card or your digital card which you have in your Costco app. I know they have bathrooms but I haven't had to utilize them. There is also an eyeglass/vision care department and heading aid department which I have not utilized. Outside to the side they have an automobile department which I have not utilized either. No gas station at this location. The food court is decent with only SOME items being reasonably priced. I recently tried their Chicken and Bacon Sandwich and was very disappointed. A cold sandwich with dry bread for $6.99. Never again. The hot dog was still $1.50 which is amazing. The pizzas (pepperoni and cheese only) are a bit greasy and a bit on the salty side. You have the option of either self checkout or regular cashier at the counter. Someone just calls out your order number once your order is ready. Now for the main warehouse. It's your typical Costco sized big warehouse with a good selection. Kirkland brand (Costco's own brand) products so far has been amazing (I haven't found a Kirkland brand product I don't like and I've tried a BUNCH) and is cheaper than the popular brands. The warehouse itself is very clean and organized with plenty of space for shopping carts throughout the store. Like most people, I go in for a few items and end up spending 3-4x the amount I was planning. I don't like how sometimes they randomly move items around but I guess that's their way of making you walk around to look for it and hopefully stumble upon other items you might want to try haha. They have many types of products such as electronics, snacks, frozen foods, baked goods, books, clothing, toys, pet related items, drinks, office supplies, backyard items, furniture, gardening, live plants/flowers, seasonal items, auto related items, kitchenware, skincare, baby products and more! I use Costco's pharmacy for anything medication related, including medication for my dog and also his flea/tick treatments (yes, they have pet medications!)! I've been using Costco pharmacy for years because when I first did research, Costco had the best prices. I'm not sure if you need to have a Costco membership to use their pharmacy because many years ago you didn't but I've been a member for the past couple of years so not sure if that's changed. You can refill prescriptions over the phone verbally or if they send you a text reminder, you can just reply with a number to refill and refills are usually done quickly. The staff have been courteous and professional 99% of the time and I've been coming to this specific location for the past 5-6 years. I had an issue with one of the employees a few years ago checking my receipt at the door. This employee made a very unnecessary, rude comment for no reason and did not treat the customer in front of me that way so not sure why I was targeted. I filed a complaint and someone from management reached out to me very quickly to figure out what had happened. I haven't had any issues with returning items, which I do not do often. Sometimes the line for this can get very long. If you don't have the receipt, they can look it up in their system with your Costco membership ID. They will also price adjust. I forgot what the time limit was though (ie, price dropped with the past 14 days). You can also recycle glass bottles/cans/plastic bottles here. Sometimes it takes some time for an employee to come empty the machines but I haven't waited that long for someone. I used to go to Walmart because for some reason they would take more brands than Costco but their machines are always usually broken or it takes 5 years for someone to empty a machine for you. Costco also has a website/app which has different and a lot more items for sale. If they have the same item in store though, the in store price has always been cheaper. I believe because they add in the shipping to the online price. I have also ordered live flowers via their app and was VERY happy with them (price and flowers themselves). Overall, I'm very happy with this Costco location and will continue to shop here! read more

The absolute worst Costco I have even been to ! First the auto and tire shop . No one at the desk no one acknowledges you the kid at the front with the crazy blond hair just useless . They rotated my tires and put almost 50 lbs of air in them . Any even beginner mechanic would know a small passenger car wouldn't take anywhere near that . People kept coming into the shop and asking me is anyone working here ? Just utter incompetence and an " i don't care " attitude . Inn the store it was no better just confusion and rude employees , most were the same as in the tire shop NPC non playable characters just utterly useless ! Fire all the Managers of this dump ! This is one of the better Costco locations we usually go to due to less customers! We really enjoy this location a lot more and take advantage the great deals. This place is very clean and well-organized. Self check-out is quick and the staff is readily available when needed. Oh coupons are applied automatically at the registers so there's no need to clip them. After check-out, grab a cheap lunch, such as a hot dog, a slice of pizza, etc. I like to drink their frozen latte! The parking lot is huge as well. There is a tire shop right next door. We are very happy with our purchase at this Costco location! My partner and I have shopped at this location several times without any problems until now. I hold a BJS membership, while my partner is a Costco member. Today, I went to the store to pick up some Kirkland products, and after shopping for over two hours, I was set to spend more than $700. I was transparent about using my husband's membership and even had their credit card. However, the cashier, Viviana, and manager, Nicky, told me I couldn't shop with "someone else's membership." When I asked Nicky to clarify the policy, she sternly stated that I needed my own membership to shop. What was more upsetting was that she didn't ask Viviana to stop ringing up my items, almost as if she was anticipating a reaction. Despite my frustration, I stayed calm. While we won't cancel our memberships, we won't be returning to this location. I hope in the future their employees receive better customer service training. Monday was our fourth time doing this with my grandkids. Usual Costco supplies: PB & J, bread, cold cuts, once did the rotisserie chickens, chips, cookies, water/ ginger ale cans, paper bags. This time the girls suggested a cake with red, white and blue decorations for a group of Veterans who we often meet on 7th Street in the East Village. I picked up the cheesecake. Decorator at the bakery had left. Joanne and Ryan front end managers asked Jessica( on the floor) to please do this. What a sweetheart, she asked me what to write( told her what the girls requested). She came back to the front with this cheesecake( see photo) and a big smile and so much love as she handed me a second cake, a Chocolate Mousse cake with " Thank you " written on it; a gift from Costco and this team for the Vets. I have shopped at this location several years without any problems until now. Today, I went to the store to pick up some Kirkland products, and after shopping for over two hours, I was set to spend more than $500, I was using my wife credit card for years, because I only have a Mastercard. However, the cashier and manager told me I couldn't shop with my wife credit card! When I asked the cashier to clarify the policy, she stated that I needed my own credit card, I have credit cards but they don't take mastercard! They had not sent out a prior notice to me before the change of policy. we won't be returning to this location. I hope in the future their employees receive better customer service training. I'm a big Costco fan since i shop for a house of 6 bottomless pits in my home and this Costco location holds items i don't normally get to see in the Bronx. Prices are always good at Costco and just know that there isn't a return limit for food in case there is something wrong or you didn't like it once opened. I have been using Costco for a few years and my husband and I love it. It's great, because it's always been clean, and I've always seen them stocked. Sometimes I've seen fruit going bad, but it's always a small batch and never too much of it. The meat is always good. Sometimes I'll see lamb, which I'm starting to cook, and I love it that I can buy it there. I also love that I can get everything in one stop. Clothes, food, laundry detergents, books, drinks, etc. I never had a problem with Costco. We also ordered our dishwasher, which my husband and I never had one in our house. I did my Sunday shopping here today because i keep trying to go to the costco @ Westbury location but it always has a line to get in and people in line sometimes follow policy and other times they ignore it until they get to the store entrance. So I like driving to Melville because there are no lines, members follow mask policy as well as social distancing and the self checkout area expedites my customer experience making it a breeze to get in & out of this location. The self checkout area should be part of every costco as I value the amount of time dedicated to the weekly food shopping for my family. I also like the layout of this store, slightly different then other locations, seems like the staff is very attentive at making sure they run a efficient operation, staying courteous and engaging customers. What else can i ask for? Well i could ask for a gas stations but i am not sure they will do that just for me. Bathroom are always clean and well taken care of. The parking lot makes it easy to access the parking and or the tire installation area. read more

Welcome to Costco, the only place that you pay to shop at and they treat you like a criminal. This may be my last year of membership unless something changes. It never use to be like this but in the last several months I've noticed a shift in the quality of service. I was accosted three times during my shopping experience to see my Costco card. If that wasn't enough, I also had to show my license as proof that my membership card is mine. This is disgusting! They don't even check your ID this much at the airport. The employees at self checkout are like little thugs. You can not shop or checkout in peace. The wife of a couple that was shopping was stopped by the police (Costco employee) because her husband wasn't standing with her. She had to get her husband to come over to complete the purchase. This is not what we paid for. This whole company needs an overhaul in customer service. I hope this is not a nationwide thing because people will choose other retailers instead. They need to find another way to handle whatever the issue is they're trying to remedy because you are treating your customers like trash. read more

I've been to a variety of Costcos in life and this one seems to be the one that is a best fit for me and my family. From electronics to produce, Costco has it all. The staff is pleasantly friendly and has always been accommodating no matter what I'm looking for, or if there is an issue. I've purchased many products for my home and business here and if I've ever had an issue, Costco is always helpful with a return or a replacement, even outside of the standard 30 day window. The services and pricing for items is outstanding and is extremely convenient for family purchasing. I have also been using the onsite optometrist and eye glasses department which are both reasonably priced and have been a great asset to this place. The food court always has fresh food and the pizza, hot dogs, and ice cream are always a nice touch when leaving the facility. I recommend this particular Costco over many of the others in Long Island as it is clean and well organized. Only downside to this is the parking and check out situation. Just goes to show that more people have similar views that align with me when shopping at Costco. read more
