Growing up, my family always had a Costco membership and I've always enjoyed going to Costco for their food samples, amazing finds, quality products, and great value. Since 1995, Costco started their exclusive Kirkland Signature foods and household products. As an Executive Member, you can earn up to $1,250 on eligible Costco and Costco Travel purchases (this is a pretty nice reward at the end of the year), Executive Member Shopping Hours (usually an hour earlier than other members), includes 2 membership cards, and more. Costco Travel offers everyday savings on top-quality, brand-name vacations, hotels, cruises, rental cars, exclusively for Costco members. If you haven't taken advantage of Costco Travel, you definitely should check it out. There are some great vacation packages. Costco in Westbury, NY is conveniently located in the same shopping plaza as Five Below, Total Wine Spirits & More, Walmart, Best Buy, and a few restaurants. Parking used to be okay depending on the day and time you went, but recently it's been pretty bad all the time. What's worst are the lines to checkout. It wasn't always like this! Inside the warehouse, there are staff available for assistance and the shelves are stocked. I really like how Costco is carrying more and more Asian products. I've heard that the other Costco in Nassau County in Oceanside is not bad and much better. I love being a Costco member and though can be a challenge sometimes, I will wait in the long queues. It's the only exclusive "club" experience I get. lol. read more

I can't believe I'm actually writing a review for Costco but I've been here far too many times over the years and to say that a review is overdue is an understatement. First thing's first: if you're coming from the boroughs, please drive safe. Costco lies within a long stretch of big commercial boxes and shopping centers, so there is a ton of car traffic coming from opposite ends, and it happens to be at the intersection of a few major highways in LI--all of which are notorious as a overspeeding haven for lunatic drivers. Secondly, if you come here on a weekend, be ready for war--starting with the parking lot. The moment you pull into the parking lot is where you'll need to stay alert at all times until you leave the parking lot. It is a machine here and very much like the Hunger Games. Drivers are aggressive and a random car will pull into the space you're trying to park in. There is a ton of people with families and most do not seem to have any sense of situational or spatial awareness--anything from stopping their carts in the middle of crowded areas, cutting lines, walking on the wrong side, etc. We're usually able to find most of what we come for and there's a lot of inventory and good promotions specifically at this location. We mainly go to the Rego Park location (which is a monster in itself), which doesn't have as much or runs out quickly. The produce, on the other hand, isn't really that fresh and usually already picked over. The lines look insane but they actually go by pretty fast since they prepare a lot of employees who help make the checkout process faster. Pro-tip: The BJ's (just right behind) is such a breeze and virtually has no crowds, compared to this location. read more

This is the Costco nearest to where my stepson is moving this week, so we stopped in to pick up some things he needs for his new apartment. It looks very much like every other warehouse mercantile, but at the same time the orientation is somewhat different, so going to the area where we thought kitchenwares and consumables were for us in Bucks County, PA, did not bring us to them in this airplane hanger. Nevertheless, we found what we needed and also realized that this Costco was much more crowded on a Tuesday evening that we were accustomed to. We were almost ten back in the cashier queue and it took nearly an hour to wade through the line. In similar fashion the parking lot was jammed and a challenge to drive through. It also seemed that the parking spaces were narrower than permitted by us, and thus a ding and scrape utopia. Living on Long Island is sure going to be a learning experience for the young man. I love this Costco, but management really needs to do something about the checkout lines. I came here expecting a happy Sunday shopping trip, but unfortunately my experience was disturbed by the rude behavior of some customers and the chaos at checkout. The same day I visited, there was a tall, loud lady outside making sure everyone formed one line before scanning their membership cards to enter. And guess what? It worked. People followed the rules, the line moved smoothly, and nobody was confused. Then I got inside and headed to the registers... and it was a completely different world. Nobody was managing the regular checkout lines. There was one long line in the middle, people cutting in from the left and right, and every now and then someone would decide to create their own line like they had special Costco privileges. It was chaos. It was especially frustrating because some people were rude, cutting ahead of others, and acting as if the rules did not apply to them. What I don't understand is this: Costco already proved it can organize people. The same employee had hundreds of customers lining up properly outside before entering the store. Why not use that same approach at the registers where people are spending much more time waiting? The tall loud lady definitely had a loud personality, and at one point she even yelled, "You're not a retard!" at someone. Not exactly textbook customer service, but she was clearly trying to stop people from cutting and keep things moving. The words were too strong, but the line discipline was effective. Management, please assign someone to monitor the regular checkout lines, especially during busy times. It's frustrating when customers who follow the rules end up waiting longer than people who cut in front. On a positive note, the OTC benefit payment system was fantastic. Easy, stress-free, and worked exactly as it should. I love this Costco and will continue shopping here. I just wish the checkout lines were managed with the same energy and organization as the entrance line. The system clearly works when someone is actually in charge. Great value, good prices, and usually well stocked. That's why I keep renewing my membership. I just wish the checkout lines were managed better and it was easier to find help when looking for specific items. Costco has plenty of products. We visited this store one more time this week, looking or the one thing they carried that was unique to them - cartons of tzaziki sauce. They no longer carry it. I would drop COSTCO entirely and switch to BJs, but I love their canned whipped cream. Otherwise this store is a nightmare - parking there, finding anything, and checking out. read more

Friday afternoon and my sister wanted to return some items to Costco. Remember to bring your membership card because, unlike BJ's, Costco will ask you to scan your card to be admitted. Costco is an enormous warehouse which is always insanely crowded. If you hate crowds, higher tier Executive members are allowed in an hour earlier than regular members. Today lines were long as usual but not crazy. Food items are usually fresh. I usually buy my eyeglasses here because the optical department has good prices and accepts medical insurance. If you know your prices, I think you can save money. I understand there are YouTube sites which offer advice as to what is currently on sale. Tip: My brother taught me that items that end in .97 such as $xx.97 are clearance items. We ended our visit with a very salty hotdog and a soda for $1.50. Because the large crowds mitigate the shopping experience, I'll rate this Costco 3 1/2 stars. read more

This Costco used to be our regular stop way back when my son was still in diapers because they stock diapers & formula in large quantities as well as paper towels, toilet paper and everything else. We rarely left here without a long receipt of over $200 and that was over 20 years ago! We stopped coming here because it just got crazy crowded in the parking lot, as well as inside the store. For this recent visit, we happened to be across the street for a Yelp event and decided to get in a little shopping. This brought back all the parking lot nightmares. Once inside, it was just more unorganized chaos, but we found everything that we needed. One highlight was that they have Ahi Poké here in the prepared food section that is rare at other NY/LI Costcos. The checkout lines were long, but they moved quickly, with extra associates helping at each register. Lunchtime on a Saturday here is a mistake. At the food court kiosks, I ordered a whole pepperoni pizza ($9.99) plus a couple of 1/2lb hot dogs ($1.50 ea) & drinks because it's the best deal in town. But it took over 40 minutes to get our food because it was just that packed with people stacked 4-5 deep. Never going to come back to this again. read more

This place is well stocked, my compliments end there. Spent a lot of time looking for merchandise and there was no one to ask (they seemed to be hiding) when I finally found someone she directed me to the front desk. (That means abandoning the shopping cart). The lines to pay are very long but there are plenty of empty cash registers. Finding parking can be a mad house just like navigating the crowds inside One of the few Costco trips where I can say; I didn't overbuy and stayed within budget. Overwhelmed by the chaos. The store has a nice selection of products, staff do their best with the chaos around. I like that while waiting in line for check out that they had an employee scan all the products in my cart and we didn't have to unload and scan at cashier. I am submitting this review as a complaint regarding repeated unprofessional behavior from a cashier named Rosa O. (register 9) at the Westbury Costco location. Unfortunately, this is now my second negative encounter with her. As I was placing my items onto the conveyor belt, Rosa came over and began taking items herself and throwing them back into my cart. Several of my meat packages were placed inside plastic bags, and instead of scanning them through the bag opening, she forcefully ripped the bags open to scan them, causing liquid from the meat packaging to leak. When I mentioned to my partner to be careful because Rosa had ripped the bags, she immediately became visibly annoyed and developed an attitude toward me. To make matters worse, when the receipt printed, instead of handing it to me respectfully, she slammed it onto the counter and walked away to ask a coworker for a plastic bag. I waited and then had to ask her directly to please hand me my receipt. This is the second encounter I've had with Rosa's poor attitude and lack of professionalism. Customer service requires patience, respect and professionalism, especially in a public-facing role. If Rosa is unable to interact with customers respectfully and handle merchandise with care, she should not be working in a customer service environment. I hope management addresses this matter seriously so future customers do not experience the same treatment. read more

I went my daughter went to try to buy a pizza and they don't let her in because she don't have the membership since when you had to have a membership from Costco to get into the food court to buy a pizza that's so stupid that's ridiculous. I've been here 3x in 1 week- my first ever Costco membership experience. This location is definitely like a madhouse like how other reviewers described it and it doesn't matter what time or day you go, it's always going to be crowded & busy but the lines do move fast though. It's pretty stocked for the most part- I especially love getting the snacks, frozen meals, prepared and pre-marinated foods. I finally understand the hype and why so many ppl love Costco- bulks at a cheaper price & can't forget the $1.50 hot dog combo + pepperoni pizza. I usually go to this Costco location even though parking can sometimes be a bit challenging, because the Optical Department there is simply fabulous. Ann is just outstanding: so attentive, knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful. She made the whole experience easy and pleasant for the whole family ( my daughter , my dad and myself). She has a great sense of humor and such a positive attitude that every visit becomes a pleasure. Truly exceptional customer service. Thank you so much, Anne=! This Costco is always a pain in the b--t to park, then you go inside to shop and its always very busy no matter what time you go. But i have to say it has a lot more variety than BJ's and prices are pretty good. Then to pay another challenge, long lines but they are pretty quick. So my advice if you are in a rush don't go, just order online and have it delivered. save yourself a headache. read more

3.5 stars! I came to this costco to get some groceries and the moment you walk in they ask for your card. Once your scanned in the shopping begins! This costco is huge but one of the only costcos in nassau county so it get super crowded. I park by five below and walk because the parking lot can be overwhelming. They have such a great selection of all items and everything is always pretty much stocked. Lots of organic items and cultural items to spice up your at home meals. They have a great food court and have such great prices. My only complaint is the prices on red meats. They are overpriced in my opinion compared to other supermarkets even though they sold in bigger packages. The value of the kirkland brand is amazing and I will definitely return. read more

Although it can get very crowded, this is my go to Costco store. I usually arrive 30 minutes before they open so I can get a close park. As all Costco's it's a huge Warehouse. There are a variety of things from clothing, foods TVs, car oil , the pharmacy and their infamous rotisserie chicken for $4.99. I appreciate that I always get all of my produce, meats, and fish fresh every time with huge varieties. The customer service is always great and the lines move fast. So here's the thing. I absolutely love Costco for its wholesale pricing and having to be an actual member to even get in. However! The parking lot here gives me anxiety each and every time I visit. Parking IS available but you have to be strategic and not rush. Also the line to exit the damn place is always a nightmare. It's great they check each and every receipt but it completely slows the line down when you have already paid and just want to go home. Maybe they need more team members to handle the exit line? Otherwise, this location is huge with a ton of items to choose from. Prices are great. The employees are helpful. It's not a bad shopping experience at all once you're inside. read more

One of my favorite pastimes is browsing the aisles at Costco and sampling all the delicious treats! Lol. Despite the occasional chaos, I always enjoy shopping here, especially during the holidays when the store is filled with seasonal treats, decorations, gourmet foods, and so much more. For me, the membership is absolutely worth it. At the end of the year, I always get a check that I can use toward my renewal. Even with the busyness inside, I can always find what I need, and if a shelf happens to be empty, the staff will gladly check the back stock for you. The prices are great, often lower than other membership warehouses. They also have a separate smaller store for adult beverages, with some good deals. Costco goes above and beyond with its additional services, like RX refills, optical services, and even filling my dog's prescriptions! Oh!! Before you leave, don't forget to swing by the food court. You can grab a hot dog or a slice of pizza with a fountain drink for just $1.50, talk about a great deal! read more

This has to be the busiest Costco location on all of Long Island including the one in Astoria, which is really saying something. I grew up down the street from here and parking and congestion inside the store have always been an issue - but with the shops that have opened surrounding this location it's become even worse. The positives about this location are definitely the selection and the service. Somehow, despite all the chaos, employees here are always helpful and in a good mood. I've found items here that I haven't seen at any other Costco. The clothing section does sell out of small and medium sizes quickly, but if you hit the timing just right sometimes you have your pick when things first get put out. Obviously it's Costco, so you can't beat the value and the deals, and especially the return policy. But if you're the type of person who likes to peruse aisles at a leisurely pace, this is probably not the location for you. read more

Rude employee working self checkout. I am handicap and asked for help scanning items in cart and AGUEDA refused to help, saying all small items have to be scanned and she won't help. She then stepped in at last moment to scanned eggs only and nothing else. I didn't need her to scan the eggs I needed help with the small frozen food boxes and the spaghetti sauce is all. Plan ahead - maybe you can share things with a friend or neighbor. Good deals on loss leaders like rotisserie chicken and ribs; high quality meats and veggies. Some people swear by their baked goods. If you're buying electronics, do your research upfront. Cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, etc good prices. Paper goods may be more reasonable on sale at supermarkets and if you don't have a lot of storage space, many items will be too bulky to consider. Great for families read more

I've been to several Costcos in my life. Like most Costcos, most products are sold in bulk (aside from clothes) and truly meant for a family of 4+. I've been to a few in the city, but when we checked out this spot, I noticed it had more variety and was well-stocked. This was on a Monday morning though. We stopped by for a specific product and found it here. Costco is located in a popular shopping center with multiple other stores sharing the same parking lot. It was still appealing because Costco was huge with its own liquor store, tire store, and food court. They also have a can recycling area, which is typical of most Costcos, but this location seemed like many came here to do that. The employees seem to do most jobs pretty quickly and the wait is not long. I will definitely be coming here more often. read more

Always packed but centrally located on old country road- with five below, walmart next to it, Target within 5 min drive etc. it has a big free parking lot but always congested. It has tire department. Self service check out available. Customer service at return department is usually good. As I mentioned, it's usually crowded. Usually things are pretty well stocked. I just had the worst experience of my membership lifetime in Costco westbury. when I tried to return a Dyson v11 which I purchased for 630$ on line , the manager was very rude and unprofessional and refused to take it back and his logic was that this vacuum lived its life . why did he think that he is some kind of engineer to make this kind of assumption??? and a $630 vacuum should last 20 years like my old model that's still running after 25 years . Nick ( the manager ) took it upon himself to change Costco's return policy which was shocking to me . and his approach I found rude and disrespectful. I shop at this location happily for past 20 something years and I spend a lot of money on weekly basis and I didn't expect this approach. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at any Costco. On September 30th around 7 PM, my membership card was suddenly frozen during checkout at the Westbury, Long Island store. A staff member who claimed to be the manager told us it was because of a $60 rebate check from our previous visit -- and that we now had to pay it again in cash or by credit card before we could finish shopping. What made it absolutely ridiculous is that the same person had told us during our last visit that using the electronic version of the rebate check was perfectly fine, and that everything had already been settled! When we pointed that out, he admitted it was their mistake -- but still insisted that we had to pay for it! How absurd is that? We asked to cancel our membership on the spot, but were told we couldn't even do that unless we first paid that $60. Every single employee we spoke to just repeated robotic answers like "there's nothing we can do," showing zero empathy or professionalism. It honestly felt like dealing with robots, not real people. A few days later, we got a call from Costco customer service -- just a short apology and no solution at all. This store's management and customer service are beyond disappointing. Costco should seriously look into how this location is being run. We deserve an explanation, an apology, and compensation for the wasted time and frustration caused by their own mistake. Avoid at all costs. No matter the hour or time you choose you will encounter a packed store that could be considered a borderline fire hazard. Management should do a better job of managing the layout of the store, regulating the number of customers permitted into the building, or taking other measures to stop the permanent traffic jam that is Westbury Costco. There are other costcos on Long Island and I will be making the drive to them instead. read more

Usually don't have much of an issue with this Costco - people just mind their own business. But this time I was hounded by 3 staff at checkout trying to get me to sign up for the Executive membership even after I listened to the benefits & politely declined the first time. At some point while 2 staff members were telling me how much "I could save with the cash back" for the 3rd time, the cashier checking out my items decided to chime in & started loudly announcing my checkout total and that I was buying SOO much stuff so I should upgrade. I had to say no over 5 times; they only stopped because I had already paid and was pushing my cart past them to leave. Also, apparently they had no inventory of Kirkland Signature brand TP? There was only Scott's brand toilet paper (1-ply) left and no other brands. read more

I haven't been to any Costcos outside of this location, but I always enjoy my experience here. The inventory is extensive and well stocked, the employees are friendly and the selection of the perishable merchandise is always fresh. One downside is that it can get very busy and crowded during peak hours, leading to long lines and extended checkout times. The food court is similar to any other Costco and the workers are usually polite and bring your food out quickly. The prices are very fair compared to other supermarkets and of course you are buying merchandise in large quantities for this luxury. read more

You can find anything from food, stationary, cleaning, clothes, etc. you name it, Costco has it. You can even get plants here!! I have a household of 3 adults, and still consistently shop here Review of THIS Cotsco location in Westbury: 1-2/5. Truly an exhausting and daunting experience. From the second this store open, likely until it closes, it's packed. There is rarely parking in the area and I've seen the poor cart gathering employees travel far and wide to retrieve the carts. Also the etiquete of the clientele is often horrendous- people blocking aisles, putting things back in the wrong spot, stopping short, etc. We make the trip here as infrequently as possible. If the Melville Location is close-ish to you, or really any other location, I would 110% recommend making that detour read more

I rated them 4 stars although think they are about 3.5 stars. Everyone knows COSTCO so I'm not going onto great details. PROS: convenient, warehouse pricing, some items are cheaper in store than online, this location is very clean, the help is nice when you can find someone. CONS: Not enough staff to assist customers in the aisles. Hard to find certain items, long lines to check out, see photos. This particular location was well stocked and open later than the one in Brooklyn. Parking was better here than in Brooklyn as well. I would recommend this location although traffic in the area on certain nights snd weekends can be unforgiving on Old Country Road. read more

During COVID the lines for this Costco sometimes stretched to an adjoining mall which was a huge turnoff. Often times I'd drive by to check the line and leave when I saw the line to get in. It's not just the line to get in but once inside there was also a line to check out that would stretch from the front to the back and sometimes double up. Then as any Costco shopper knows, once you get checked out, you'll have to deal with yet another line at the door to leave. Recently introduced Self checkout lines have helped alleviate some of the checkout wait so kudos to Costco for implementing. Now if only they could do something about the customer return line,..... This Costco for some reason does stock some harder to find items I could not find at other Costco locations so that's a plus for this location. Keep that in mind if you are searching for something that you can't find in other locations. On a recent visit I needed minor medical attention and met with several really helpful staff at the front to provide assistance. Bandages, towel, antiseptic spray was provided which was really thoughtful. I think it was a manager that provided the assistance so kudos to the management team for their help. read more
