I've been into Ruby and Jenna about 4 times. All 4 times, not one person acknowledged me walking into the store. All 4 times, neither of the 2 workers offered assistance. I'm not one to write bad reviews, but today was the last straw. I walked in with my mother, looking for a birthday brunch dress. I had thought to the store was empty, but turns out they were in the back, sitting, talking about their relationships. Not only that, but they were recording an Instagram reel, even though they had both made eye contact with me. It wasn't until 20 minutes of me being in the store, they started to put away merchandise. This store has cute clothing - for a good price - but the customer service is what I do not look forward to. I love shopping here! Me and my daughters always come to this store. I was in the store on monday and I've been coming to this store for years and every time I come in I find beautiful blouses and jeans and the girls are so helpful!! The prices are also so great already and now they have become a discount store so everything is even cheaper. I don't always like shopping in person because it's tiring and I don't always get the best service at the mall but I do no matter what location I go to for Ruby and Jenna. This review is about the Garden City location. I anticipated writing this review because I am not one to ever write negative reviews, but I feel others should be aware. I frequently shop at Ruby & Jenna because I love their clothing. During one of my prior visits I noticed a Store Manager (with dark hair) speaking to one of the sales girl (a petite little thing) who was so pleasant and helpful, in a demeaning manner. This same sales girl that I have seen before has actually assisted me in purchasing multiple items. She was pleasant and eager to help. Very often do you see sales girls act this way, so it made my shopping experience wonderful and encouraged me to return. When I visited today, the Store Manager was there again and began to address this same sales girl terribly. It was apparent she did not like her. What "boss" reprimands an employee in front of customers and makes everyone uncomfortable? Only someone that does that on purpose because they are a bully. Totally unprofessional!! The store is on the smaller side, so it was not difficult to hear. I do not know if that young Store Manager was on a power trip, but if her bosses saw her acting this way, I am sure they would not be happy. I will not be shopping in this location again because of it. Bullies need to be reported and shown disciplinary action OR maybe the owners of Ruby & Jenna need to only hire mature middle aged woman to run their store. This is a terrible representation of their name and in today's world, where small businesses are struggling, I feel it is very important to hire people that will not abuse their title and jeopardize sales, which for me, did just that today! I would definitely suggest you shop in their Plainview or Roslyn stores or only shop in this location if the Sales Manager is not working. read more

I was there 12/14 looking for a cute top to wear for my birthday celebration in the city, associate Acerbera was super sweet and very helpful. She understood what I was looking for and I was happy with the top I got. You don't get nice young ladies these days and she was very nice and kind. I've never been really inclined to stop in but there was something cute in the window so I decided to check it out. The store was clean and there was an associate sweeping. I was surprised passing several associates and not really finding what I was looking for that none of them even said hello. There weren't many size options on the racks and finding something that was on the mannequin didn't go over well on my own. I was no longer impressed and bidded the rest of my time to check out the sunglasses. While they were really pretty, they didn't have UVA/B protection so that pretty much defeats the point of having sunglasses in my opinion. read more

Very disappointed. I really liked these jeans but they were damaged. I was offered 10% for the damage but i decided it wasnt worth it. A few days later they went on sale for 30%. I asked for the addt'l 10% I was offered before for the damage but I was told no bc they were already reduced. So actually the pants came out to 20% w/ damage. I bought them anyway bc I really liked them BUT they lost a great shopaholic with 2 shopaholic daughters. Hope those 5 bucks was worth it! read more

I've been stressing a lot about finding an outfit for my birthday and knowing Ruby and Jenna is a great boutique I was so excited to have a sales associate help me put together an outfit. The three girls working could care less that any customer was in the store. They were talking VERY loudly about how much they hate this location, it's too big for a boutique and that the Plainview location is much better. I didn't even feel comfortable asking them for help. I hated everything I tried on because it fit me horribly. I didn't want to ask for their help, I just wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. read more

Was in the store today staff was horrible they were too busy talking about there break outs about going gro Starbucks and about what they want to eat. Not one person asked me if I needed help. I asked a sales associate if they still had this shirt I had seen in the store a few weeks ago and she said no they're all gone. Then I found about five of the shirts on a rack. I had some personal problems occurring in my life, not to mention it was the holiday season so things were hectic. I went into the store to return an item I had purchased a week ago. She went in and when asked if she needed help finding anything explained to the manager that she needs an outfit for going out in a size large. The MANAGER Jamie then had the nerve to say "we don't have any going out clothes in that size that would look good on you". I am baffled at this behavior especially coming from a manager. Staff is nice and helpful. It is in a nice location with plenty of other shops. The clothes and jewelry are of good quality and are very trendy. Their clothes fit women with a variety of body types; however, they do not accommodate plus size. This is one of my favorite places to shop. read more
