I found this small shop after being disappointed by a local dress shop (Designing Dreams in Mineola) that had extremely overpriced, gaudy communion dresses. Cathy was so lovely and helpful. They did not have the dress I was looking for so they special ordered it for me with no additional charge. The dress needed alterations and they were done for just $40, quickly expedited and it was seamlessly executed. I ended up buying my daughter's shoes, purse, a lovely little keepsake bouquet, a dress for my daughter's American girl doll, a personalized t-shirt for my daughter, as well as a gorgeous suit for my 5yr old son to wear to the communion (only $59!! Jacket, shirt, vest, pants and tie!). I highly recommend this store for anyone looking for religious children's wear or dress apparel. read more

I scheduled an appointment @ Cathy's and I was treated poorly. The young lady seemed very uninterested, a woman with lack of professionalism/ retail experience. My appointment was at 12, and she was 5 minutes late to open the store. Meanwhile I was stressing to make it time on time because they don't take walk ins. After trying on 3 beautiful dresses on my baby, I fell in love with one specifically, and asked the lady if I can have the dress on hold for at least ONE HOUR! She said she couldn't, because she would need a deposit that is non refundable( on a $555 dollar dress). I insisted if she can at least give me 30 mins, she again said no. Another customer walked in, and she asked for a dress she had on hold from several days before. I left the store with a bitter taste in my mouth, and as much as I loved the dress, I won't go back, simply because I refuse to give my money to a place that treat there customers like this. I found another boutique that order the dress for me, money well spent else where. read more

This place is horrible!!! Do not patronize them. I heard through so many people who have daughters in the upper grades that the service here stinks, but I went in anyway just to browse for a Communion dress. The place is so unorganized and dresses are shoved in so tightly that you can't even move them on the racks. Once you pull one out, good luck shoving it back in...the busy ladies come around and grab it from you as if you are making it dirty. The awful little dressing room has no privacy, and mirrors had to be shared, Loehman's style. Poor little girls were scolded by staff to be careful with each dress they tried on. Yuck! Some girls were lucky enough to try their dresses on with the hoop skirt, while others were just out of luck. It was very unfair. They should order more for their customers to use if they are going to have hoop skirts-requiring dresses at all! It was supposed to be a nice mother-daughter time, but it was ruined by hefty witches who hem and haw every time you say no to a dress, who are rushing you to decide so they can take orders that they can't even fill on time. I heard a woman complaining at the counter about an order that was placed in December that was still not filled, even after 8 weeks, and the salesperson was not apologetic at all. She continued to try to sell this woman a pair of Communion shoes for $40 instead. I found a cute dress for my daughter there, but when we heard it would take "one week", we walked out. I just overheard it was not going to be just "one week," and they were not going to make things better when they can't fulfill their order. The prices are much better online, so I ordered online and received it already. No waiting or dealing with those nasty ladies there. I would definitely not come back here again.I DO NOT recommend Cathy's Touch to anyone. Pashley's worth the drive. *P.S. Went there to shop for a Communion veil for my daughter and was ignored. Literally not ONE sales person said hello, may I help you, or goodbye. And one of them knocked into my mom and I walking over to help someone else, and didn't even apologize. For a small, local place, you'd think they'd be all about customer service, but they couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge our presence (other than, you know, tripping over us). read more

I bought my older daughters Communion dress here some time ago. I was excited to come back after so many years but this time my experience was HORRIBLE!!! I walked in and there was not enough help. The salesperson kept saying we are waiting for the help to arrive. Ok... but when other people walked in behind me and got assistance right away I was not a happy camper. I didn't want to make a scene in front of my child or other people's children. But what's right is right. The women who were there assisting had no clue. People would ask them a question about an item and that was it...they were helping them from that moment on. They should have a system. Come in and write your name down and the next available salesperson is to assist that name. I have another daughter who will be making her Communion in 2 years. I will NOT be back! read more

We purchased the "Lorenzo" boys christening outfit from Cathy's Touch in Merrick NY for my grandson's christening this month in August. We placed the order August 13th and received the completed tailored outfit on Friday, August 23rd. This was amazing since the suit was custom made to my grandson's measurements. Lorraine (the owner) took special care when she took the baby's measurements. We requested a knicker version of the outfit instead of the long pants and we complemented it with ivory knee high nylon socks. This particular suit is ivory so we purchased ivory shoes on-line to complete the set. My grandson looked so beautiful and everyone commented on how well the clothes fit right down to the jacket and hat. The quality of the fabric was excellent. He looked like a prince in his suit! People came over to us to comment on how unique the suit was and asked where we bought it. I cannot thank Lorraine enough. She stayed in touch with us to update us on the status of our order and was so helpful. I highly recommend this store. The quality of the clothing is amazing! read more

I cannot rate this poor excuse of a business any stars because it deserves a negativerating...I went weeks back and ordered my daughter's Communion dress,shawl,purse,veil and gloves. It was very $$$$..I had no problem with that, because I knew all th prices, what I did have an enormous problem with was the treatment I received when I went to pick up my items. What I ordered and what was presented to me was the exact opposite of what I KNOW, I ordered..the dress instead of alabaster was now Diamond White...and then Cathy tried to tell me the shawl that she was putting on my daughter (which did not fit) was what THEY TOOK UPON THEMSELVES TO ORDER!!! TO put a little more fuel on the fire the purse did not .match the new colored dress, as well as she told me that I was in possession of the gloves!!! She talked down to me as if I had lost my ability to comprehend English and then proceeded to shrug her shoulders!!! I informed her that would take the dress and everything else would remain in the store!! Pleaded try to find an alternate place to shop before putting any money into this establishment!!! read more
