Our car broke down and we were unable to start the vehicle or put it in neutral. I informed our AAA service of this when calling, this was the company that was dispatched to us by them. Not only was the tow truck driver rude and condescending, he did not have the proper equipment or knowledge to complete the job and made it feel like it was MY fault by insinuating he'd never seen such a thing. I would assume a broken down car that doesn't start would be a completely normal job for a tow truck????? After repeating himself to me about how he'd never seen something like this and he couldn't do anything to help about 10 times, I was forced to call back my AAA service to ask a different tow company to be dispatched. The second tow truck took an additional 2 hours but at least this tow company was kind, helpful and said they could tow my vehicle with no problem. Overall this company wasted my time, made it so I had to wait over 5 hours to get a tow, the tow truck driver was rude and unprofessional. It's already stressful enough when your car breaks down, having a kind and helpful professional makes a world of difference. read more

I visited Petaluma on 10/30/21 only to get stuck in a new concrete island with a high curb (on one side); pics included. The design , curb height, was poorly constructed work, plus not visibly marked like the other new areas with cones, red rope and markers. If a pedestrian was to step into this spot that is dark at night or not watching where they were going during the day would lead to a broken leg and possibly worse. There's a 1.5-2 foot drop. Vic's Towing has been in business since 1981 and his level of expertise, was amazing. He's professional, friendly, very knowledgeable and precise. Granted the obstacles of the parking lot plus unable to maneuver his tow truck to utilize the wench; he got my car out- after figuring out the puzzle. He utilized wood and a foam block from his truck, plus used concrete pavers that the City left behind to wedge under my left back tire. Vic used a 4x4 piece of wood under my left tire after using the floor jack- so when I would drive up and out of the curb, I could drive off the curb straight with very minimal damage. He looked under my car and said the axle appeared fine, the sway bar was scratched but looks fine and minor scratching on one of my exhaust. It was completely drivable afterwards. Yay! The only minor damage received was molding clips broke off in 3 spots along the left side which he recommended an auto body shop could fix. Sure enough, this morning on 11/5/21, my local auto body shop, removed my back bumper, realigned, and realigned and secured the front molding area by the front right tire. Very minimal damage. Even though my insurance company didn't cover a quarter of the bill, the whole service that Vic provided, his skill level was well Worth it! Thank you Vic! You saved my day and made the rest of my day enjoyable. read more

So was making my way back from Tahoe on a snowboarding trip when almost home to Santa Rosa my car suddenly makes a weird noise and all hell breaks loose. I can't recommend Vic's Tow Service enough! I'm not a member of AAA, so when my car broke down I had to decide whether to sign up and pay the same-day fee of $75 or just go with a nearby tower. I'm so glad I chose to go local. I was anxious because my car had been broken down for hours on the side of Stony Point Rd. Vic was so calm and laid back on the phone. He put at ease. He showed up with his big, high end flatbed tow truck and asked me to sit in the cab while he took care of my car. I was greeted in the roomy, comfortable cab by his dog Diablo- gentle chihuahua who sat calmly with me while we waited. Then, Vic and I had easy conversation on the drive to my home. Turns out, Vic is a born-and-bred Petaluman who, if I'm not mistaken, took over the family towing business from his father. He's honest, knows his job inside and out, and seems to live what he does. I visited Petaluma the Saturday of 10/30/21. The parking lot for 246 Petaluma Blvd. N, the islands/planter boxes were newly constructed. The concrete seemed about a week old (still appeared damp in appearance). Some of the parking area had cones and/or red marker tape to rope off areas that were unsafe. My unfortunate incident had no visible cones/red tape, etc. Therefore, the area was unsafe to make a right turn as the island/planter box jutted out more than needed. I made a right turn at the bottom of the driveway that separated Buffalo Bills Billiards and this Brewery. My front tire missed the planter box, my back tire went up and over and into the planter box. The frame in front of the back tire and the frame kit behind the back tire before the spoiler, my car was resting on the frame while the left back tire was elevated in the planter box (about 1-2 feet down from the top of the planter box lip). There was no way of driving my car out of this planter box as I heard scraping (metal/plastic) on the underside of my car. My Car Insurance couldn't find a tow service to assist me sooner than 3 hours. I contacted Vic's Towing Directly, explained my situation, he stated that my car insurance already contacted them. Vic kindly put me in front of another service. He arrived and realized the obstacles he was up against between the parking lot, cars, pedestrians and the angle and unable to get the winch positioned with out hitting a telephone pole. Vic was professional and managed to figure out the puzzle of the obstacles mentioned above to allow me to get out of my situation. He used a 4'x4' piece of wood for my left back tire (to prevent the hard thud when my car drove off the planter box to avoid body damage to my car). Vic also utilized the city's concrete pavers (left behind), plus a foam block he had and carefully executed instructions. I had no major damage to my car (minor only). Underneath- my sway bar was scratched, the plastic kit as part of the frame had minor scratches. I parked my car, we did a final inspection and he provided instruction for the plastic clips as part of the plastic framing that popped off as I drove off the curb. All in all, he moved very swiftly. Vic's Towing his has been around for 21 years and I am pleased I contacted him directly rather than going through my insurance company (yes, it was mostly out of pocket but definitely worth it)! Luckily I wasn't blocking any traffic and he was able to get me out without blocking any traffic as well.
