I decided to have a pro look at my rear bumper that was a bit loose on the right side. Don't know how I managed that, but I knew I couldn't keep driving with it in that condition. So on my way back from previous appointment, I decided to stop by Gulick's Autobody, Inc, Petaluma's original bodyshop, they have been in Petaluma for decades and are involved with car shows & such. I figured what harm would it be to get an estimate without getting my insurance involved. So I parked in their expanse parking lot walked in and tried to explain my dilemma to the receptionist, before I could say more, Greg came around the counter and asked me to take him to my car, and show him the problem. And within minutes he told me what they could do, gave me an estimate, which was a very fair price and I decided to have them fix it. I will admit I was ready to try to repair it myself with a silly You Tube video & some product they recommended. But the more I thought about it, the safety issues, etc and besides who was I kidding, I didn't wanna get dirty or fail, I'm gonna leave this to the pros at Gulick's Autobody, Inc. I just needed to wait a couple days for a part, and that was fine because I needed my car for the weekend. We agreed, they called the next week day. While I was made aware that I could choose another shop, after reading the reviews here I stopped in for a quick estimate just a few days after the incident. The gentleman doing my estimate was thorough, thoughtful and quick. We made an appointment for me to leave my car on a Monday after work. The shop gave me a ride right after I dropped it off to the nearby rental car place. On Thursday I got a call that it was done early. I was able to leave my car with them and pick up my Mercedes. The best part is my car looks even better than before I got hit. They did a beautiful job and I could not be more grateful. What a wonderful car repair experience, or better said, truck repair. Truck was t-boned by a person who ran a stop sign. Fortunately, no one hurt but the truck had major rear damage. Insurance folks wanted the truck taken to one of their preferred vendors. That pointed us in a different direction, we called Gullick's and that was the end of the insurance preferred vendor idea. Greg was so helpful during the insurance process. Super smooth. Truck was back in 3.5 weeks. The repairs and paint work really so impressive! Other than us knowing the damaged area, no one else would. Impeccable work! don't know what exactly they did in preparing the truck for return, but it looked and continues to look amazing! Let me start this review off by saying I had really high expectations considering the history of this company my longstanding history of being a resident of this city and always happy to support local business owners. Went to get a quote for my 1994 Toyota Celica that had been in an accident and before he even got out of my car I could tell that I was going to be judged. I walked up to Ken the owner introduce myself he acted like he barely wanted to shake my hand. Literally grabed the top of my fingers as if I was dirty. I was always taught you can tell a lot by a man thru their handshake. Not impressed. didn't get more than 5 minutes into explaining why I was there and he simply said I would have to take this apart in order to even give you a quote. I thought to myself no problem so I responded with that would be okay then he proceeded to tell me that the repairs would be several thousand dollars and I should go through an insurance company I explained that the insurance will cover it the car is very old and I just wanted to get it fixed and pay out of pocket. This is where it gets ugly he told me it would probably be about $4,000 to repair the car more than the car is worth. I'm not sure if I look like I don't know anything about cars or fixing them but I was well prepared to pay the fees that I expected this repair to be and it went downhill from there. I came straight from work and was in complete business attire so not sure what the issue was or why I was treated this way. Long story short I left extremely disappointed feeling very much judged discriminated against and he treated me like I wouldn't have the money to fix my own car I'm actually sad that I was teared this way that's why I'm taking the time out to leave a review. I've referred several people to them before but likely will not be referring any other customers to them again. read more

Ken's staff was extremely excellent in handling all of the problems my car faced when it became victimized by a series of potholes. When I told my parents about my car accident word of it passed on to my aunt who then recommended me to Gulick's Auto Body in Petaluma. My aunt has brought her car to Gulick's for over 20 years and with excellent reason. The staff at Gulick's got my car back up to shape and on the road in no time. They even cleaned the inside of my messy interior to give my wounded animal of a vehicle a second wind. I was rear ended on 12/16. Over a week later and I'm still thinking about the service I received at Gulick's Auto Body and decided I should write a review to share my experience. I got rear ended on my way to work on a Friday morning. My insurance company suggested Gulicks and they were able to see me immediately and provide a quote. The following Tuesday evening my car was brought in and by 10am that Friday (12/23) I had my car back -looking BRAND NEW! I can't get over how clean they were able to get my car -even with the torrential down pouring of rain. The week before Christmas can be a stressful time and Gulick's went above and beyond to not add to my stress level. They informed me of the changes to pricing for parts and labor and worked directly with my insurance company. Jessica even went the extra step and gave me a ride to pick up my rental vehicle. Again, no stress, just great customer service going above and beyond.
