What a wonderful company this is. I reached out to them about a small issue using their online request an estimate service and received an immediate response that made me really want to use I made an appointment and brought my car in and they took care of it right away and the price was amazingly less than what they quoted me. Not only that, but they treated us so well we felt like the king and queen of the universe walking in there and while we were there -- the place is so clean and organized, and the staff are so friendly it almost makes you wanna be in an accident to have something big to have them take care of lol -- not really! But you get what I mean. If you need what they have to sell, you don't hesitate. You will be as astonished as we were. They were even nice to our dog that we had with us. read more

Charlene and the Shotwell team are simply amazing. If one word could be a review it would just say, "WOW"! The car was perfectly repaired. Delivered on time. They setup my rental for me. The estimate was beyond reasonable and then they came in under the estimate with the actual work. What repair shop does that?? Every other shop always calls to say we need to add this and that and increase your cost- Not Shotwell! And then when I go pick up my car I find it detailed INSIDE and OUT! The damage didn't affect the inside, but this team clearly believes in old school service - give it back to the customer BETTER than before the damage. Bravo Shotwell. Bravo. read more

I was parked in front of Cucina Paradiso and a car pulled over to let a lights and sirens firetruck come down the Boulevard. The driver of the car misjudged the distance and scraped my car. The driver called their insurance company, AAA, and accepted the responsibility. Their AAA person reached out to me and recommended Shotwell because they were less that 10 mins from me, AAA was connected electronically with Shotwell, and Shotwells was across the street from Enterprise. I went to Shotwell, and in a few minutes after the front office took my info, the Manager, Charlelene, came out to assess what they had to do to fix it. I could only see the scrape. She could see that the bumper scarred and the sensors near the wheel and behind would needed to be checked and calibrated, and how they would fix the scrape down to the body. So check 2 for competere. The highlight was Charlene herself, whose "having fun" personality meshed well with my own. They gave me the estimate the next day, and the guess was they'd need my car for 3 days. Turned out it was a day and a half. The desk staff were great. When I dropped of my car one the staff drov me across Petaluma Blvd N. I'm 81, and I wasn't about to try and navigate across that busy read with any expections of arriving alive! I had forgotten to take my garage door opener when I dropped off the car. I called later and asked if they could get it out of the car for. No problem! It would be at the front desk. Net net, The SERVICE component was off the charts. Charlene and her folks made it an easy peasy (and fun!) experience. Oh, and the car was in close to perfect condition. What was missing? The car had been cleaned, land the drivers side had a plastic mat to keep the diet from the person who took the car out for me had left that in there. Everything else was spot on. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate Shotwell a 10. And if the the plastic wasn't there I'd give it an 11. And if got to banter with Charlene for a couple of minutes, I'd go to a 15!! read more

OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE From the time they received our car from the tow company, and talking to their rep; you feel good about doing business with them. Once they got insurance approval they went to work, provide an estimate time to complete work, and then a phone call a few days before work should be completed. They finished the work a week ahead of schedule and go the extra mile to ensure work was done completely. You couldn't even tell the car was damaged (even though it was mostly underneath the car). Hopefully we won't be returning any time soon, but if you need work on your vehicle then search no further, Shotwell is a place to trust. read more

The two photos tell most of the story. Also got an appointment in one day and it was fixed in four hours and the cost was $100 LESS than the deductible. You couldn't get me to go anywhere else. read more

If I could give more stars, I would. My poor little car looked faded orange and had a dent where moi had bashed it in a bit on a garage pole, and its clear coat was peeling off. Shotwell assessed my 16-year-old car, advised me they could detail it inside and out for a more effective result, quoted me an outstandingly fair price for all this (which included smoothing the cave-in), then just gave me back a car that looks nearly new! BIG thank you not just for a job well done and affordable, but for working with me to assure my 16-year-old car is looking its very best. No longer ashamed to drive it! Just ... WOW. Beyond expectations. read more

My Lexus SUV was rear-ended and Shotwell did a fabulous job replacing it with a new bumper, and they detailed the car inside & out! Plus the staff were so nice, (I'm not good at remembering names, but all the ladies in the front office were friendly and helpful!) I'll definitely go back but hope I won't have to read more

I had an amazing experience getting estimates to repair a nasty scratch on my wife's Subaru. The first 3 body shops quoted prices of $6,000, $2,700 and $1,598. Then I stopped by Shotwell Auto Body and met owner/manager Charlene O'Connor. She inspected the scratch and said, "You know, I think we might be able to buff that out." So a couple of days later, I dropped off the Subaru and returned a few hours later to find it looking good as new. No sign of the scratch. So how much do you suppose that cost? $200 maybe? $300? "Don't worry about it," Charlene said. She did the job for free! I asked her why she suggested buffing instead of a higher priced repair. "We're honest," she said. Needless to say, I highly recommend this business. They can't do all the jobs for free, but you'll get a fair price, and their reviews confirm they do quality work. read more

I wish I could give 10 stars! Charlene, the owner, helped with my Jeep's repair and a cosmetic fix to the inside I could not say better things about her pricing, service, and truly everything about the shop! My repair was going to take a week and they were kind enough to give my car back for the Thanksgiving holiday and let me drop it back off. When I got my car back they had washed and detailed it (the best car wash I've gotten, every dog and horse hair on the inside was gone) even though they knew it was going to come right back to them and get taken apart for the repair. Their pricing was 1/3 the price of my other quotes. I truly had the best experience with them and will continue going back for years to come! I would recommend them to anyone to trust with their vehicle. read more

Fixed our Tesla right up! Nice people, quality service. Got us a rental car and everything.

An absolutely great experience! Charlene explained the estimate in great detail to me. The shop completed the repair on time and did an absolutely perfect job. When I got the car back, it had been cleaned and detailed, inside and out! I did not expect that. My 9 year old car looked like it was brand new. The paint was absolutely perfect, and the color match was perfect as well. There was a very high quality of work for a very reasonable price. The people at the shop were all very nice, and I recommend this shop to anyone who cares about their car. read more

I was in an accident and Shotwell's was highly recommended by a family member. Shotwell's is an hour and a half from me but wanted to take it to the best place for repairs. I would recommend them a million times over. read more

I've now used Shotwell's Auto Body twice (both times after someone else hit my car ), and both experiences were amazing. I highly recommend Shotwell. I damaged my car in a parking garage. I got three quotes from shops in Petaluma, and Shotwell was by far the most reasonable. They did a fantastic job fixing my car. I was especially impressed with the paint match. My car is 8 years old and I didn't think anyone would be able to match part of the car with new paint. It's perfect. I was really happy overall with the experience I had with them. read more

I put off getting repairs after a hit and run for months. I feared the experience would be uncomfortable and that I would feel taken advantage of, but this experience turned out to the be opposite. The repairs to the paint and plastic on the quarter panel, bumper, and fender are seamless, and I really enjoyed meeting and working with Charlene and Carla! They made an appointment, took photos, and submitted the estimate to my insurer quickly. The repairs started as soon as the parts arrived, I had my car back in a week as promised, and it was detailed in and out! Charlene was happy to teach me about the process, explaining the estimate in detail, and now my 2011 Volvo looks gorgeous all over again. read more

Just a quick shout out to Charlene and the techs @ Shotwell for helping me get out of a sticky situation!! My landlord keeps hitting my car and totally put me between a rock and a hard place... the damage estimates from 3 other shots were beyond unaffordable. The kind folks at Shotwell understood my situation and were able to make it look a lot better at a low cost. Very professional, efficient and responsive. I'll def. go back to them for any future auto body needs. Thanks so much for saving my day (& my housing, lol)! read more

Shotwell auto body is amazing. I had repairs done from G&C auto body 2 years prior, and unfortunately the repairs were less than satisfactory. Due to G&C's repairs, I inherited a horrible rattling sound that would emit from the driver side compartment of my car every time it was driven. I attempted to have G&C repair the work, which they refused and denied doing certain repairs... with that said shotwell took my car and with diagnostic, and time they were able to find the issue... and fix it. My wife and I are very satisfied, as this was a fix we didn't think would be resolved so easily. The entire out of pocket cost was only $720 dollars compared to what would have been an arm and a leg from G&C. Charlene, and Maurice are awesome and they were extremely helpful! read more

Excellent, honest service ! Highly recommend his local business. The service was good and timely and the communication helpful

This is the best auto body shop I have ever been to. Jerry was so helpful and they did an incredible job on my car. My family used to paint cars. And I have never seen a paint job like they did it was incredible. Many of my friends would ask me where I got it done it was crazy. read more

A few weeks ago I used Shotwell's Auto Body and it was the BEST experience I have EVER had with an auto body shop. When I first arrived, I felt sad and defeated from my accident, not quite sure what to expect. I was greeted by the most kindest and effervescent ladies, Charlene and Lisa. They both immediately put me at ease with their warm smiles, kind words, knowledge, and positive energy. I came in feeling sad but within 20 minutes I left feeling amazing and like I was in great hands plus like I made a few new friends :) I can thank this auto body shop enough for all their kindness and attention to detail when it came to my car. I'll be sending all of my friends and family your way! A special thank you to Charlene and Lisa for everything. It's rare to find such incredible customer service. I'm soo grateful! read more

This is overdue, but Charlene and the staff were absolutely amazing! I'd love to highlight Shotwell Auto Body for their excellent service. They have repaired my car on 3 different occasions. Charlene and Lisa are so knowledgable and helpful. This past fix they even gave me a discount because parts were taking so long to come in- something that was out of their control. Soon after getting my car back another issue started that they fixed without charge despite thinking it was unrelated to the work they had just done on my car. The customer service at Shotwell is the silver lining to the hassle of being without your car when it needs repair. read more

Working with Lisa (office manager) and Charlene (manager) really made for a seamless experience. There's a reason why Shotwell has five stars on Yelp. The service is quite simply amazing and they totally go above and beyond. Took my car there to get an estimate for a minor bumper repair and after noticing a scuff on the front bumper, offered to buff it out for me free of charge and even washed the car (which was in desperate need). Also, shout out to Charlene who is very prompt over email, very professional, and follows up all communications in a timely manner. You really can't go wrong at this place. read more

I needed a lot of cosmetic repair to sell a car and Shotwell made it so easy. Just so good it's stupid, these guys are stupid good. My wife wrecked her car twice in a week, yeah don't say a word or I will jump through this here computer. Anyhow, she wrecked the front drivers side with bumper and inside stuff was damaged as well, plus for an encore she wrecked passenger side door a week later, I was thinking maybe I should put off fixing it so she can wreck the back end and they can just do the entire car, but I went ahead and had shotwells fix it. Well we were originally at another body shop who blew it, I wont mention names but a chain that is more of a meat grinder for ins companies then an auto body shop. They blew it on customer service, so I had to switch in the middle of the process (no fun) to another company. I did not choose other company, my ins company choose them, but shotwells is also preferred with AAA ins, so the switch was painless. I cannot say enough about the staff and quality of the work. And they gave me 3 days estimate on both jobs, so I thought it was 6 days total, but they were done in 3! Man, the wife's car looks so new I'm actually glad she wrecked it. They went above the call of duty and did many items above estimate, I couldn't believe all the things that were fixed, and the car was detailed, and they fixed the headlights that were a mess. Man I am a shotwells customer for life, if your car is messed up or you want work, don't choose the other place, this is the place you want to go. Their 5 star rating is absolutely not surprising at all. Thanks again Shotwells, MB read more

As a new resident to Petaluma I was surprised to see that the reviews for many of the auto body shops were similar all had excellent ratings and reviews My 2021 Kia Soul had. two different occurrences where significant damage was done to my car The first thing I realized that there is one adjuster who services at least the three shops I visited. As one owner told me that wherever I went the cost would be similar and the quality of the repair indistinguishable Well that wasn't my experience . What distinguished these shops from one another is what I call customer service and having the experience and crew that is more like family with the knowledge and skills to address without any reservations to do the job to your satisfaction Charlene and Lisa are a team that. stands above any estimator and coordinates effortlessly to have your car ready to be repaired They are honest, reliable and committed to return your car looking both inside and outside as if it rolled out of the showroom, They know their job so well there work is seamless Whether it was picking up the rental car or trying to figure out why and how my screen had dropped one of its readings Instead of saying take it to a Kia dealer their repair person took it on to read the manual and figure out what went wrong and brought it to the tire company who had lost one of the tire sensors I have been a driver for over 50 years and never caused an accident but have visited many body shops on both coast and can say without a doubt this is the place to bring your car The other two places I visited it was subtle signs that made me wary for example one owner clearly stressed and on overload was so distracted (maybe a bad day. The other shop although wanting the business. did not make any tangible connections. All the shops were rated similarly but if you want something above the "usual" Shotwell is the place to go You will be seen and receive the best price the best repairs and a commitment to quality read more
