So I was a little afraid, but my fears were put to rest at Studio 51. I walked in and was promptly greeted by the owner who was working on a client. Another hairdresser, Madison, happily made an appt with me for a few days later. Showed up for my haircut and again greeted as soon as I walked in. Madison saw me promptly on time (my pet peeve with any appointment!), and spent a full hour on a wash cut and blow dry. She evened out my chop-job, was professional and friendly, and I already made my next appointment. Good vibe in this place and great stylists. Highly recommend.

The receptionist, while lovely, was very forceful about trying the Voesh Body Lotion on the desk while I waited for my stylist, even after I said "no thanks, I just applied my own". She then wanted me to try Amika hair & body mist- which I already own and didn't want any more on. I get it's part of their position, but it becomes uncomfortable when I'm repeating myself saying "No" five different ways. The front reception area (right when you walk in- first area you see) & to the left where the TV / product wall is was very dusty, faded photos and advertisements taped to the desk, it just didn't look kept up. (It was enough that I noticed, looked around to see other employees at their stations on their phones and wondered if that was acceptable to do when the salon isn't clean) The stylist at the first station on the left gave me a really nasty look when I walked in and sat down, and brought that up to my stylist because it just seemed...weird. As for my hair, Annie absolutely nailed it. Being it was my first visit with her after looking for a new stylist, I wasn't sure how that would go, but being my mom is VERY particular about her hair and it always looks fabulous, I took a shot with her and am going to return next month. I had a full head highlight done, on long hair, with a cut & dry. Annie took her time, but was very efficient, absolutely lovely to talk to, and knows the profession well. She did exactly what I was asking for. I can put the dust, faded taped up photos, nasty looks, and "try me! Pressure" aside for Annie. 100% recommend her. She's a hidden gem in the local area, and she's my new stylist and I'm so happy to know whenever I go to her, I'll come out feeling fabulous!

I called the day of and I got an appointment the same day because there was a cancellation. When I got to the salon I realized I had actually been there before a year prior! I was in a wedding party(maid of honor) and we actually had all the girls hair and makeup done by the hairdressers at Salon Doriano. At the time I was living 6 hrs away. The hair and makeup for everyone came out great and everyone was completed in time -- STRESS FREE. So now that I find myself back here I was pretty excited. My hair was kind of a two toned ombré mess before stepping into the salon and I honestly wasn't even sure how to fix it so it looked healthier and flowed better. My appointment was with Melissa and she was amazing. Besides being super easy to talk too, she really knew what she was doing and completely transformed my hair. I'd say i'm not usually the easiest to please when it comes to my hair but I absolutely love my new hair color and cut.
