Shipyard+fries. Hawaiian king bread, hotdog, pulled pork and coleslaw. It's pretty yummy. $13 plus $4 fries.

After walking around the magnificent battleship IOWA. It's time to try the Vickys doghouse. I got the shipyard. Pulled pork with hotdog in Hawaiian king rolls. Add fries. It's surprisingly good. Eating good food with a good view what else can you ask for? Go visit the battleship and try the hotdogs.

If you're going to have a hotdog make it special Vicky's hotdogs house it's on the historic USS Iowa and it's free to get on the ship for just the hotdog restaurant which also has beer and you can sit on the sunny deck and enjoy watching the ships pass by on this beautiful really cool battleship there are tours available and I highly recommend it. Also they have clean restroom facility and helpful people ready to answer. Any questions you have about the ship I love their chili cheese, dog and a Heineken.

Food all good quality ingredients. Note the Orange Crush drink is gone. Fries are really good Service was quick and polite on this Wednesday at noon. Sit at tables (without cover) to hear your order number called. Remember a portion goes to the foundation for the ship. Yes you can visit Vickies without an Iowa tour. Parking- swipe your credit card on the way in and on the way out to complete the payment.

Steel Beach BBQ and Destroyer.

The hotdogs were delicious and the location (on the USS Iowa) was really great. The only problem that we had was the tots and onion rings were a bit overdone and it tasted like the oil was old. We had the Steel Beach BBQ and the Destroyer.

I went here to help support the folks at the Iowa museum. Let's run through the basics: 1- parking One hour free parking. Remember, downtown Pedro charges for parking so this is a bonus! 2- admission This does not get you a tour, but it gets you to the back where the small food hut is located. You enter via the rear gangplank. The security team will ask if you're there for food or tour, but access to the restaurant is free. 3- seating They have a whole bunch of tables with a tent on the back 4- ambiance Gotta say it's way cool. You sit looking at the rear turret of the 16" guns, on the teak deck of the ship. Across the channel is an active port, so watching the longshoreman work is really fascinating. 5- food Wait, you took to point five for food review? Read on, dear yelpers. It was a bit pricey, but every museum I've ever been to has had a wee bit of a price premium. BUT you are supporting the museum and getting fed. The buns looked like king Hawaiian buns. This was a pleasant surprise. The meat, I opted for Italian sausage, was super good. Well cooked. We got both the destroyer (chili) and the u boat (sauerkraut). The chili was fine, but the sauerkraut version I felt was superior. Really good kraut. Not overly vinegary (is that a word?) The service (it's order and pick up at the hut) is super fast. You're easily in and out in an hour, with plenty of time for eating, enjoying the view, enjoying the ambiance. The only downside was the onion rings. They weren't quite up to the level of the dogs. I'd opt for the fries next time. Overall... a very cool experience. I think there's enough real estate back there to have several food huts available. Different styles and types of food. They could turn it into a cool food court.

Regarding the service: my bill came to $26.99, and my change was $13.01. I was handed $13. I asked about the penny. "I don't have pennies," she said, "It's only a penny." She told me they only have quarters. And yet they charged me an amount that left them with my change. Theft is theft. They should either change their pricing structure, or eat the cost themselves instead of ripping off customers. The food was ok.

The perfect way to end our time on the USS Iowa museum. The food was fantastic. The corn dog was phenomenal and my husband absolutely loved the Flat Top hotdog. Very large portions of fries and perfect for both my teenage sons. We would visit the museum again just to eat here. Food was fast and great price for what you get! The gentleman cooking was very nice.

I was very excited once I heard they were opening a small food spot on the USS Iowa, and it did not disappoint. Ordered a couple of their hot dogs with toppings, a side of fries and a beer. Everything came out very fast and it tasted very good. Prices are a bit on the higher end for street food but not a big issue. The reason why I can't give it 5 stars is that all the toppings on our hot dogs were extremely cold which felt weird to eat. The fries were underwhelming as they were soft and soggy. But the flavor of the bread, Franks, sauces and toppings was good. The place is beautiful since you can sit next to the water, on the rear side of the ship and look at the port and a lot of the waterfront. It's a pretty cool experience. Service is good and friendly, no complaints there. Definitely will be back and hopefully they'll have crispy fries and warmer toppings. To find the place you just need to go to the back of the ship, and walk to the other side along the water. You will see a little container just in front of the rear cannons. Forgot to mention that part of the 4 star rating is because they use a lot of plastic utensils and cups. Being by the sea, I would expect them to use some sort of ecological option.

Visited the new Vicky's Doghouse located on the #battleshipiowa after I saw the article on LA Weekly about their grand opening this past weekend. HotDogs were yummy served on a kings hawaiian bun with this beautiful view which made our lunch even better! They also have 805 & modelo on draft We've never been here before so it was definitely worth a trip. (Dog and kid friendly ) Parking is free for the first hour and doesn't cost to go on the ship. Someone mentioned that they use a lot of plastic which is true since they're by the water, hope that changes soon! Great experience and everyone was really nice. Dogs and toppings were perfectly proportional.

Do I have to pay for a tour to eat here or can I just buy food?

You do not have to pay for a tour to eat at Vicky’s Doghouse. You can come up the back end of the ship after you check in with security to let them know you’re only going onboard to eat at Vicky’s. You are more than welcome to purchase a ticket to… Read more

Can I bring my dog along? (Small 20lb dog)

I don't know if this is late but I am assuming you can't just because the restaurant is on the ship. But there was no sign of no dogs allowed.

Not only do they have all the sandwiches that you could be craving, but they have an extensive breakfast menu served all day (breakfast burrito is my go to at all hours of the day), multiple salads (Cobb salad is bomb), tacos, dogs, and burgers all served in different ways to satisfy that craving you've had for days. There is this one incident that really hits home with me several years back. On my way to work, I work nights, I ordered via Yelp as always, and as I'm pulling up the shop, I realize I don't have my wallet. @#%$!! I'm friggen hungry, I look at my watch, I don't have time to go back home and get my wallet and still make it to work on time. I decide to walk in and tell them that I'm sorry to have ordered what I did and not have the means to pay for it. I'm thinking, what a waste of food! So, I walk in and I tell the owner what happened and that I apologize. Before I can walk out he says, "Hey, that's ok. I recognize you and things happen. Go ahead and take it and get me next time." Wow! Amazing! NO ONE DOES THAT ANYMORE! Now I'm not saying these guys are going to give you free food, but I will say they have HEART. A lot of establishes have lost heart, but they have it! So that's my feel good story for the year. Enjoy that bomb sandwich land tell 'em Sarge from down at the docks sent ya!
