The Forest Dr store is nice, with lots of indoor/outdoor seating and very clean, and a good amount of parking too. The hard rock music was a tad loud at 7 am but that is a personal feeling, not a criticism. The staff were upbeat and helpful all around. The food was good! I've been back twice...the fried green tomatoes were crunchy and well seasoned and came with a side of ranch. You can order individual slices rather than a full appetizer! (the appetizer comes with pimento cheese and I think okra) The "custom bowl" I made had grits, fried chicken, eggs, and cheddar cheese - generous portion size and a good deal price wise.. I even tried a side biscuit to try the butter and jelly bar - fluffy, nice size, and most importantly well baked/baked through.The standout accompaniment for me was the maple burbon butter, but regular butter (fluffy and easy to spread) and the variety of jams were nice to try. I'll start by saying the food itself wasn't bad. My group got the "Vicious", "Animal Farm", "Crab Benny", and "Sweet Puppies". All were very good (highly recommend the sweet puppies). What I have an issue with is the service. It took an hour and a half to get food on the table and one of our people's dishes came out after everyone else had finished their food. The servers were clueless running around inside and outside with the same food or drink items multiple times, and our server wasn't even sure what the different between a mimosa and a bloody mary is. Food is good overall but if you want any level of decent service and timing then I would go on a weekday. read more

I went there for the first time after hurricane Helene because the power was off and the restaurant was highly recommended. The atmosphere was welcoming, I placed my order and I observed the owner lead his staff by example with his friendliness and personable character as he made rounds to chat with his customers at their tables and the ones in line waiting to place their orders. The food was fresh and delicious and was served with warmth. Great customer service from the whole team!! I have revisit since then and I saw the staff working quickly to turn the tables and made ready to accommodate line of customers that was outside the door and along the side of the building. We went here for lunch this morning. I ordered huevos rancheros, and my wife ordered a Seabiscuit. My huevos rancheros was great perfectly cooked eggs, nicely, flavored, black beans, pico de gallo, avocado slices and a nice sauce. The Seabiscuit had very good crispy shrimp with a nice sweet sauce and red cabbage. Both were excellent. Service was quick, great selections! Highly recommend this place! read more

I'm back and better than ever! Decided to visit South Carolina and catch up with some people whose face I haven't seen in a while. Decided to get brunch at this spot and honestly, it wasn't too bad. Environment was pleasant, and I loved the variety of breakfast options. I didn't receive my food though for another ten minutes when I got almost the same thing as the other two. Mind you I ordered 2nd out of 3. Down below is pictures of the food of my friends along with my empty spot of nothing. My good buddy Bezos enjoyed his meal, and so did his wife. Although her bacon was burned. Me on the other hand when I finally received my food, it was solid! Potatoes were extremely dry, but the runniest of the yolk and the sauce was used to combat that. All three meals though fell under one thing. There was no WOW factor. I understand it's a breakfast lunch place but when I sit down anywhere I expect to have my eyes widen, my mouth salivate waiting for the next bite, and my socks completely off! It was just alright. Not only is the food excellent here but the staff is absolutely fantastic! I was not in a very good mood this morning due to some physical issues I was having after a bad fall last week! While all of the staff appeared to be working well, I want to mention two of them specifically because they literally turned my day around. Kenya and Tore were magnificent not only at their jobs but also in their dealings with the public (and not just grumpy old me). Great food, excellent service. The biscuits were so good, soft and buttery. They have a great bar with butter and jams it was a nice touch.

The food is good, (few, if any, healthy offerings but you should know that going in with the name containing the word BISCUIT.). It's also very loud so you really can't carry on a conversation. Not really a pleasant dining experience. Several things do need attention: 1) They don't want you to sit at a table until you've waited in line, placed your order and received a table number. This causes large groups, families with small children and elderly to stand for quite some time while waiting in line. If they want this type of seating arrangement they really should hire servers. 2) It would be nice to have salt & pepper in individual packets, especially after Covid or at least, shakers at each table. 3) The serve-yourself bar with butter, jams, etc. isn't set up where it's easy to spoon your butter into the little cups provided. It's difficult to get the condiments out of the tiny spoons into the cups. It takes a while and the line backs up. Other than those things, it's pretty good.
