Went for brunch and ate two bites of my food. Overpriced and bad quality. Also tried out brunch on the rooftop. Bad food and no tables for bigger parties. If you're 21 you'll prob love it. Don't go here if you're an adult that wants a good meal. Also - their dress code is questionable. read more

This place is great! I went here with a group for a special occasion and our server made our night. He was friendly and helpful when it came to answering our questions about the menu. He really made us feel well taken care of. I ordered the ricotta pizza and added spinach but even as a vegetarian there were tons of things I wanted to try on the menu! My favorite part of our order was the stuffed avocado. We all said it was like having the best toppings from a salad on one plate. I would get it again just to have for lunch on its own! Everything was excellent!! Definitely recommend the stuffed avocado and HOT PEPPER SOUP! Both excellent. Wood fired Brussel sprouts for the win. I don't normally like Brussel sprout but I'd eat these as a meal. Steak sandwich was good and large but I thought it would be slices of steak, not chopped up. We walked in without a reservation and were promptly greeted and seated by the very warm and friendly host staff. Directly across from the entrance was a bocce court. A few people were playing bocce when we arrived. The atmosphere here is quite vibrant and a bit loud. The noise level didn't bother us too much but I wouldn't suggest coming here as a romantic date, first or early date when hearing each other is important. The theme here is a whiskey bar. One wall is lined with what appears to be small lockers for individuals to keep special bottles of high end whiskey stored for their regular visits. We were seated at a table near the open kitchen. They have a large and very colorfully decorated pizza oven and prep area. We really liked how this looked and I enjoyed the watching the pizza cook doing his craft in the oven. The service and the food here were excellent, though I thought my iced tea tasted very odd. I had my wife taste it and she agreed. We both actually thought it tasted like cooked spinach. If we hadn't both come to the same conclusion I would have blamed it on maybe my taste being off. We shared a prosciutto and pear pizza and a chopped salad. Both were very plentiful and very good. I think Vice is good for casual dining but the sound level and club atmosphere prohibits beyond that. I would recommend dining here casually when downtown. read more

Came here for brunch yesterday after a very long night after looking everywhere for brunch and being denied other places we were delighted when they said they could take my party of 7 for my birthday our server was just okay doing the bare minimum and barely talked to us and almost all of our food was absolutely terrible. I sat there thinking how can you make French toast this dry and terrible but then I asked myself are you surprised because even the mimosa I got was absolutely terrible and it's only two ingredients.... Needless to say do yourself a favor and book a reservation elsewhere! read more

Visiting Buffalo for the first time and I was told clams are a local Must Have. Was happy that I found Vice within walking distance of where I was working. Delicious! Absolutely wonderful. Despite some worries I was going to be far too old to stop into Vice, I've now visited twice before heading to Shea's and had a quick easy bite with a few drinks. Been fortunate to find bar seating and have Sarah as our bartender both times. The arancini, meatballs, and pizzas have been great. Love this as a good happy hour stop. read more

This place was underwhelming Cocktail was made with crushed ice so diluted the drink. So switched to rose. Started with crab cakes which were ok A bit fishy for crab cakes. The server recommended the pork chop so I got it. This came out tough. Maybe I just got the wrong stuff but didn't love. read more

Went here with high hopes for a hip bar scene and good grub, but was sorely mistaken. Ordered a few appetizers, including the burrata and French onion soup, and then some pizza; all of the food was mediocre at best. Overpriced considering the quality of fare that we received. Food was adequate, though not amazing. Whiskey list is good. But the service. Terrible. Management is terrible. Note that this place turns into some kind of nightclub late at night. When that happens, security comes flooding in and stares at you while you eat, and all the terrible scamjob fees and service you'd expect from a nightclub come with it. This place is about nickel and diming you for everything, while providing nearly nonexistent service even if you're ordering $100 steaks and $50 pours of whiskey. read more

Tried vice after hearing lots of good things. They are the same owners as Neat on transit, very similar menu. After looking up and down the street trying to find it, we finally found it down a slight driveway, looks like a hotel entrance. So I'm going to say it's in a poor, hard to find location. Park on pearl for sure. We parked on the parallel street behind the building, our gps told us to go that way. On to the food and drink. I judge a restaurant based on their availability of craft cocktails. Anyone can pour a vodka cranberry or whiskey rocks. That being said, their selection was limited. Always a mule on these lists. Not a fan of ginger beer, too effervescent. The bourbon smash was really good, went down easy. My daughter ordered a daiquiri which was well balanced and not too sweet. On to the food. We ordered a variety of small plates, the beet hummus was presented well and very tasty. One complaint, the pitas were really crunchy. The meatballs were slightly over done but the bed of mashed underneath was fabulous. Crispy Brussels were really tasty. Last were the corn fritters, really good. We were there on a Saturday for lunch (2 couples) with maybe 10 other people in the place. We asked or separate checks for both couples. We were told this was not possible. Waitress said she could estimate what we had and round it off so it would be close and we could pay with separate cards ( I trust the computer rather than an unknow person's math skills and I don't want to have to tally up the amount when the computer can. We facetiously asked if we could just sit in separate tables that were side by side but this was not an option. She came back later to tell us the manager was going to make an exception this time. The reason given for this policy was that when they were busy it was to difficult to keep track. So they can remember what everyone ordered but can't input this in the register. I have been with groups where not everyone pays their way if the bill is split later and who carries cash any more. Food was average at best. Then the kicker mandatory 20% gratuity unless you complain. Who wants to complain if service is bad and feel like a jerk ruining an dining outing. read more

Walked in to have a few drinks around the bar. Hostess was leaning on her elbows biting her nails and seemed irritated to even talk to us. We asked to stand at the tall bar tables that were empty and told "No. we have to seat you at a table". Long story short, we left and went to WXYZ just up the stairs. Like the music, like the bar, like the ambience as a whole. Vibe is great, fun spot. Food is pretty decent. It really falls short on the service though. Bartender wasn't too knowledgeable of the drinks they had available when it came to whiskey bottles. Server basically took the order and dropped the food off, that's it. Can honestly say the server did not elevate the experience. Had to ask for silverware and napkins which I feel like is one of the few things you shouldn't have to ask for at a restaurant. I think there needs to an adjustment in level of service as a whole for people to come back and make this a consistent place. read more

Foods fine, service was kind rough but it wasn't a bad experience until the bill came. There we three of us and when i got the check for 300+ dollars i went to calculate a 20% tip. Unless something really goes wrong, i always tip 20%. i waited tables and tended bar my whole way through college, i know what they go through, and i appreciate it. But after a minute i realized that seemed like kind of a high price for three people. so I double checked. Glad i did as the server had already added a 20% tip without telling me. I get that this is standard practice for large partys but we had three people. and traditionally you're told, i wasn't. I almost tipped this guy $110 dollars on a $250 meal. Nice scam buddy but it didn't work this time. So, if you eat here, check your receipt before you tip and sign. read more
