The Ear and Eye Institute (aka EEI) building at 915 Olentangy River Rd isn't just for eyes!…read more Whereas I am here on the 5th floor today to see my eye doctor and get fitted for contacts, the floors below the fifth floor are occupied by multiple specialties, most not pertaining to eyes! The fifth floor is made up of entirely eye care (Havener Eye Institute), but the floors below involve the following specialties: hand and upper extremity, urology, plastic surgery, dermatology, and ear, nose and throat (ENT). The first floor is an out patient surgical area. There is an information booth in the middle of the first floor, which has employees that can answer questions to help guide you to the correct floor. Behind that is a small grab and go cafe should you need a drink or a snack. Often between 11-2 there are food trucks in the parking lot. This is a very busy building. I suggest giving yourself some extra time to find a parking spot. If you are handicapped, there are a lot of spaces but you may need to circle around a few times. The entire front line of parking is dedicated to handicapped, half of the second row of parking is handicapped. The institute is part of the larger Ohio State University System - Wexner Medical Centers. I visited for an ENT appointment, specifically for hearing issues. I received great care for tinnitus, had a hearing test, and counseled by a specialist. Dr. Brad DeSilva (Otolaryngology) and Meghan Hiss, AuD, were my care team and had two back to back appointments this day (hearing test first) and both Dr. DeSilva and Megan Hiss were excellent. I highly recommend them. Regarding the facility, I was disappointed that the coffee machine was down and there were no cups for the water. However, there was plenty of parking. I just wish I had brought my own coffee.

Well, my body didn't cooperate and I needed antibiotics however central scheduling insisted that I pay a co-pay and see a completely different doctor which was so stupid. It is the only reason why I am a star from this review was the offices reliance on this ridiculous policy of central scheduling. (Both in width and in regards to backing out of). People fly in this lot, so be careful. The building itself is older. Its near the city so its a bit of a hike for me and not my favorite OSU location, mainly due to the lot. They have renovated the inside of the building and it looks better than it had five years ago but still many walls are painted in a dismal institutional beige. Checking in is easy. There is a front dest. She routes you to a numbered stall where your information is verified. Then they give you directions to find your docs practice location. Tip: If they tell you go to the Brutus hallway that is aka as "to the right" of the front desk. I saw my sports doc here for an ankle injury: Dr Anthony. He is definitely 5+ stars. He is very good at listening to what is bothering you as well as he is examining/diagnosing/treating the injury. So far, I have avoided surgery, but he does that as well. . Highly recommend him as I have been seeing him since before 2020. He has multiple offices.... Usually see him in New Albany.

Physician, Dr. Joanna Peng…read more When entering the room, she does not give good eye contact or communicate well with her patients doesn't show much concerned about their issues at hand and very quick with answer to your concerns of health. when and if your in pain shows, Dr. Peng has no compassion and her staff, including Nurse by name of Kaitlyn, Is also very rude to patients as well hopefully Management will speak to her self Dr. Peng and staff to be more professional and caring to patients. Of course, every patient has to make their own decision, but I do not recommend this physician to anyone's care. We all have moments where we are not having our greatest day, but should never be brought to work. Always care for others, and of course, patients should always show respect to staff as well.

From the outset, any attempt to ask questions or participate in my own care was shut down. When I raised concerns about medications being prescribed and referenced the actual FDA labeling, the response was not clarification or discussion, but outright dismissal. There was no willingness to engage with evidence or explain clinical reasoning. Input from the patient was clearly unwelcome and seemed like she took any input personally. The interaction was tense and adversarial. The tone was defensive and combative, and I felt spoken to in a way that was dismissive and degrading rather than professional. Asking reasonable, informed questions was treated as a problem instead of a normal and appropriate part of medical care. What was most alarming was the complete lack of openness to being questioned or corrected, even when objective information was presented. That alone made me deeply uncomfortable trusting any aspect of the care being provided. To compound the experience, the billing felt excessive and disproportionate to the quality of care and communication I received, leaving me with serious concerns about priorities at this practice. I left feeling stressed, unheard, and shaken by how poorly I was treated for simply advocating for myself. Patients who value evidence-based medicine, respectful communication, and being treated with basic dignity should think very carefully before scheduling here.

I just had a surgery performed here this morning (tonsils, etc) and they were excellent…read more I was running late for my 6:30 arrival due to a cab not showing up and then our 150cc scooter breaking down on 315 and needing to call another cab. They were ok with it, and didn't threaten cancellation or anything like that. I got there by 7:10 or so, and it was all fine. Very clean facility. Nice staff. Quick to pick up the phone and/or call back. Private, quiet and professional. 100x preferable to going to a hospital. They do almost exclusively ENT related things, so you don't have sick people there, nor do you have emergency surgeries bumping your scheduled time. The anesthesiologist was nice and very helpful. The nurses were exceedingly attentive and swift. No awkwardness, signs of being overworked or poor attitudes. While I'm certain they all work quite hard, it didn't seem that any of them were pulling 18 hour shifts and hating life. The surgery itself was flawless as far as I can tell. I'm in significantly less pain and discomfort than I thought I'd be in from reading online. Not once did I feel that I was waiting needlessly on someone to get attention or to get discharged as often happens in the hospital where I've waited 2 hours just for someone to come and discharge me. Hopefully I'll not need their services again, but overall this place couldn't be better in any way.

Lol He excused himself and the wait for a provider began. While waiting I noticed this room smells weird. Gross weird. I dont even want to think about what it is but it smells like the trash needs emptied and the trash smells for lack of a more descriptive word. yucky. I think that conveys it. Kind of smells like a mixture of puke and disinfectant. Ew. See. Yuck. Doctor Haynes come is. Was relieved it wasn't another NP. Especially due to it being an upper back/neck injury. Thats mg big beef with this place the NPs. I explain some of my medical history. Explain the injury. She does an exam concluding its soft tissue causing the pain. And doesn't need an x-ray. I agree it doesn't need xrayed, but was wondering why she didnt lean to mri. Never did she mention it. Still holding fast to its an pulled muscle. I am 100000000000% sure it is more than that. So I ask for a referral to the spine clinic. She gives it to me I was sent home with lidocaine and muscle relaxer. I agree, those I needed. The entire visit took less than 30 from the time I sat down in the waiting room. The only thing I was surprised by there was no follow up call. Usually when you go to an ER in urgent care, especially with a neck injury staff follows up the next day That was not the case here no follow up was received.

The only positive aspect of this facility is the physical therapy team, who provided competent and…read morededicated care. Unfortunately, the clinical and nursing care my mother received was entirely unacceptable. My mother was admitted for physical therapy due to weakness 9/2026. Within three weeks, her condition deteriorated drastically due to severe neglect and medical mismanagement, requiring emergency hospitalization for pneumonia, blood clots and advanced pressure ulcers. The nursing staff demonstrated a lack of professional competence, including a critical medication error where she was administered the wrong medication. An incident report should have been filed and they never followed back up with me on this. Furthermore she was left immobile in her bed and chair for prolonged periods, leading to extensive pressure ulcers across her body. The nursing assistants were consistently unprofessional, dismissive and lacking in basic empathy. The situation degenerated to the point where I was prepared to call 911 and intervention only occurred when an advanced practice provider finally arrived. Communication from leadership is equally deficient. Both the nursing staff and administration routinely fail to return phone calls. While personnel are superficially pleasant during direct conversations, there is a systemic failure to address or resolve documented patient care grievances. Additionally, the facility's physical environment does not align with the promotional images presented online. Lastly, the food is served cold most of the time, the silverware is not wrapped in napkins which is very unsanitary. A pleasant admissions process cannot compensate for deficient clinical oversight. The administration has made it clear that patient health, safety, and family communication are not organizational priorities. I strongly advise families to shop around before you land at this facility!
