Brittany and Hidie Excellent studio - very clean, friendly staff, great equipment. Free shoe rental. Stats are emailed immediately after the class. VERY reasonable unlimited monthly cost. Special ride events. Swagggg. Great class times (works perfectly for my 9:30-6:30 schedule). Community outreach during holidays!

My cousin convinced me to finally take a sycle class! The 1st class is free ! How amaze balls is that! I have attended about 4 Classes so far and I can honestly say after my 1st class I was so so SO sore I felt like a sour patch kid but after going every week I feel like my body needs me to go ! After my second class I stop getting sore and I felt more energy, I didn't need the jacuzzi after class any more. I have only to one 6am mon and 3 6am wed both instructors were highly motivating great music kept me interested and peddling..I want to try a afternoon class so hopein to do that Soon! So far I love it no complaints everyone is nice and I can borrow shoes love it ! I deff need to check in next time I go lol

I learned of Spyn when I was registering for the Schwinn Spin Instructor course and was really excited that I would be able to attend this course nearby. Unfortunately due to the lack of people registered at this location I had to switch to somewhere in Valencia :( Total bummer! I didn't really have any real interest in trying the place out until my cable guy mentioned Sweat Shoppe (which I'd been wanting to try) and then mentioned this sort of spin off separation of instructors etc to the newly opened Spyn which then left me a bit intrigued to try both places. I paid a visit to Spyn over the holidays, twice! Once with my brother for a morning class with Brittany which I must admit I enjoyed. Having not cycled at small businesses' in quite sometime I knew I'd need to bring my expectation level down a bit. Your first ride is free which I feel is always a great perk! Why pay for something you aren't sure you even like? So Spyn gets it way right in that area. I didn't feel a very warm friendly, family, community type welcome on either of my visits. As they are just kicking things into gear perhaps they were a bit frazzled but I never got any real sense they gave two damns if I were there or not which is totally fine but not quite inline with some of the other reviews that rave about the friendliness of the place. The bathrooms weren't up and running inside yet, and the lockers were available for use but do not have locks (which is common for a smaller business so not a huge deal breaker). They do provide towel service and free shoes which for some is a big plus, totting a towel around to every class especially when you may spin more than once a day is a chore. I have Look cleats on my Shimanos and they weren't set up for those just yet so I used a shiny new pair of theirs with SPDs. They also provide filtered water station. What they don't have: changing rooms, restroom indoors (soon to come I was told), showers, lockers with keyed entry Their top of the line Schwinn's do provide metrics for your ride which are totally different than the metrics I'm used to at Flywheel and I'm still getting used to riding Schwinn's but they feel fine. They mentioned the one real difference between them and Sweat Shoppe is their classes AREN'T heated, which can be appreciated. I want to work to the point that I am inducing sweat not having your heater induce sweat for me. During my first class with Brittany I felt the class was a great temp, when I returned for the Community Ride the next day there is no denying the room was very much heated which I feel gives the illusion your cyclist are working harder than they really are because they are sweating buckets. Seriously I must have sweat off pounds! I didn't care much for that ride, at all - and it really had very little to do with the temperature and more to do with that specific instructing style. This will always be the case anywhere you go, different strokes for different folks. Take several classes until you find the rides you like. You'll like different instructors for different reasons and some you won't want to ever take again, while others will love that class. I'd recommend taking Brittany's class because I know I'd take it again. She plays good music, provides a solid workout and is very clear in direction throughout the entire ride. I also want to drop in to take their head instructors class. Parking is not so fun - the first time there I parked on the side street next to Trader Joes without reading any signs and had no issue the next evening I parked there and the ride I enjoyed least now cost me $73. Give them a buzz if you aren't sure where to park to avoid mishaps like that. All in all, I think this is a nice option for the Toluca Lake area and everyone should give them a shot! Remember, indoor cycling is your ride - there's zero reason to ever be intimidated by it as you are in constant control of your resistance and workout.

One of the only studios in LA where you can track your performance! 3 months ago, barely able to hit 600 energy, today 750! Thank You Sycle!

One year later: Here I am, 3 weeks into a brand new membership with Sycle (Just finished my 8th class) & I have officially become addicted, heres why: First Class Back - Walking In: When you walk into a spin studio & you have no idea what you're doing you kind of panic. That was not the case here. One of the employees immediately greeted me & asked if I needed help getting set up. Without hesitation I immediately said yes & she grabbed me a pair of spin shoes & we headed upstairs where she familiarized me with the bike & settings. It was like the first day of school all over again, but this time I was excited & ready instead of nervous & nervous. Thank you Chelsea! Class/Instructors: I've sycled with three instructors so far, Brittany, Hidie, & Brandy. And yes, all three have kicked my ass. No not literally, but enough to burn over 700 calories within a 45 minute period each time & the best part is, they made it fun & exhilarating. When you're pushing yourself to the limit in these classes each of these instructors give you one important thing the whole time, energy & motivation. Ok that's two, but seriously, they know when to push you & how to push you. From proper technique, to yelling "last sprint give me everything you got!", oh ya baby, it gets intense & I love it. After class they each asked me how I did, how I feel etc. I love my sycle ladies & they are a big reason I keep coming back for more torture! Overall/Fellow Riders: After class even some of the other riders chatted with me & we mutually laughed at how tired we were, but most of all, HOW GOOD WE FELT. I never really liked doing cardio ever in life, until now. After each ride your RPM, Calories Burned, etc. is calculated & sent to you via email so you can track your performance & improvement. Does it really get better than that?! I think not. 3 weeks later I'm speaking the "lingo", going 3-4 times a week, improving more each ride, & best of all, I'm already down 6 pounds. They have a slogan at SYCLE that best describes your experience....... "Love. Sweat. Gears." ~Albee

To sign up for classes I used the phone app to reserve the bikes which was very quick to do. Shoe rental is $3 if you need to borrow shoes for the class. Before last night I had done one sweat cycle class with Yelp so this was my first real class and I felt so welcomed. When we arrived staff was soooo nice and helpful getting my friends set up on their bikes and helping me make sure that I had set mine up correctly. The room was so hot and humid that I felt like I'm in a tropical jungle. When class started everyone cheered and welcomed my friends and some other people who's first time it was and even the girl next to me gave me a high five and was so excited to meet me. I really loved everyone's happy and excited energy which definitely helped keep me pumped and moving. Being quite out of shape I can get self conscious about being new at something and slower at it than others, but everyone is so kind and uplifting! Latosha was very motivating while giving easy to follow instructions. The music is quite loud but I was able to hear her throughout the entire class. If you've been eyeing Sweat Cycle, I recommend just signing up for a class and just trying it! If you feel like it's getting too hot or you need a break, all you have to do is click out of the bike and go outside to get some fresh air and refill your water at the water station. Several people did this and then returned when ready to jump back into class. Listen to your body and have fun.

His method of movement and instruction is high energy, intense postures with fluidity, and a bit of cardio to get the heart moving. I loved that he made us take water breaks, but not enough to bring the heart rate down. His dance breaks kept the energy up when I thought I might give up. It is a class to attend and he is amazing. My second class was on Monday. The structure and outline of the Ali's 5:15 pm Mat Pilates class was great. It's my first time for any Pilates class and I think this was closer to the traditional with a little yoga and cardio. It was intense and strong. The only thing I would have liked would have been alternative moves for newbies in class for some of the more intense plank work with lots of movement. I just did downward dog with a little walk or knee movement or stayed in plank, if possible. But I wasn't sure if that was correct to do in the alternative or if there was another move I could have done. A verbal confirmation or suggestion would have been great. Who would have known that small step would have kickstarted such a new journey for me. I quickly became a huge fan, buying the unlimited membership and setting alarms to make sure I got into specific classes, not for the timeslot, but for the instructor. I quickly learned that what made spin so enjoyable to me was the instructors and the community, a community that has grown so greatly around me and one that I could consider a second family. When I found out 2 of my favorite instructors were leaving, Cara and Carli, I was obviously upset, but that feeling was quickly turned around when I heard the good news, these lovely ladies were going after their dreams and starting their own spin studio. What did I do? Set an alarm to sign up and was lucky enough to be the first! After months of anticipation, seeing snippets of the progress on social media and hearing about it not only from Cara and Carli themselves, but also the entire community that immediately threw their support behind them, I was on my way at 5:30 AM to ride in their first ever class, and it was SO WORTH IT. Pulling up was such a great feeling, seeing Carli and Cara beaming with happiness as their all their hard work came to life before their eyes instantly put a smile on my face. As I prepared for class, I saw other familiar faces pull up and the positive attitude from everyone was infectious. The actual class was amazing, I never leave one of their classes without being in a better mood than when I showed up. How they manage to keep teaching such high intensity classes while maintaining such an upbeat attitude is a testament to their dedication, they're not just teaching the classes, they built everything you see from the ground up. The class is a good balance of cardio runs with some heavy hills mixed in and an arm workout towards the end, so you definitely get a class that will make you sweat and leave feeling good. I am beyond excited to take more classes. I luckily have had the honor riding with the majority of the instructors they have on their schedule, and can personally say they were picked to be there for a reason. I can't wait to see this place explode with the recognition it deserves. This is a spin community, not a spin class. So much care has been put into every aspect, they really understand how to make a workout class feel special and so much more than just something to wake up early for, in fact, I ENJOY waking up early for this! I am SO excited to have a spin home.
