I myself haven't done Pilates in several months, so I loved how easy it was to jump back in! The studio consists of several reformers, all of which were in great condition. All the props you need are at each reformer, along with a chair in front, which we used for some of the exercises. The studio is conveniently located in downtown Burbank, with easy parking across the street at one of the free lots. It can get a bit parked up at night, but I always manage to find a spot when I'm in the area!

She made sure to come fix my posture and anyone else in the class to properly challenge ourselves safely. Classes are maybe up to 10 people MAX so you can be sure you'll be attended to. It does affect how you are able to perform some of the exercise exercises. Reason 2: The instructor did not ask if I had any injuries, which most instructors do. I was a couple minutes late, so maybe that's why she didn't ask. But seriously most instructors want to know if there's injuries or anything so clients don't hurt themselves.

I tried several other studios and none of them had the joy and thoughtfulness I've experienced at Personal Pilates. They really mean personal! All of the instructors have done a great job tailoring the moves to fit my injuries and specific body. Kim's basics class has been particularly game changing. She really explains things in depth, and the pace is slow enough that it's easy to ask questions. But that doesn't mean it's not a workout! I always leave sweating. Most importantly, this place feels like a community. The people are kind and welcoming. As a plus size person, I often feel anxious in exercise spaces, worried that people are making judgements about my body, or that the instructors dont know how to adapt moves in a way that actually works, or that they might make offhanded negative or cruel comments about fat people, or even just overemphasize external changes and weight loss over strength, endurance, and enjoyment. I haven't experienced any of that here. In fact, the instructors at personal Pilates have been extremely helpful and accommodating about personalizing the work without making me feel any different than other students. And the students are all ages and sizes, which also helps! Lastly, at other Pilates studios I have sometimes felt sort of... like I'm inside of instagram. Like it's all about aesthetics. That's not the case here. This is really a place to enjoy what your body can do and get stronger. There isn't even a mirror, which I really love. I can't recommend it enough.

Parking lot is small so plan to get there early, but I saw some street parking available a block away as backup The staff greeted me right away and asked if there were any body injuries that the instructor should know about. Space itself is bright, clean, and pretty spacious. The reformers are nicely spread out, so you have enough room to actually move without feeling like you're going to accidentally kick your neighbor. Everything also looked newer and well maintained, and they had plenty of props available throughout class. There are reformers closer to the mirror and another row further away from the mirror. Our instructor felt a little too fast paced for me but she walked around to make corrections. We also did a good mix of strength work and stretching, with modifications offered when needed. By the end, I definitely felt like I got a full-body workout without leaving completely destroyed. I actually felt really good afterward! I would just humbly request that we change up the music to be more upbeat during the exercises!

To say I am a bit particular about the human body, especially mine would be accurate. I was lucky enough to be referred to Debbie, and have not been sorry for one minute since. The days before I saw her, I could not sleep, was sitting on ice, there was not one comfortable position as my left hip was vexing! After my first session with Debbie it stopped hurting, and has not bothered me since. With two reformers, a pilates chair, and various "devices" there is never a dull moment, nor a session that is like the last. Debbie understands the human body, has a myriad of ways of working around issues, and she listens. There are times I come in and say "stretch, and murder my core" and she does. Other times she sees how I am moving when I walk in the door, and creates a great session on the fly based on what she sees, and it is always spot on. For the past two years, I've been going more regularly, and I can truly say that I have nothing but great things to say about Core Conditioning. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work with Elson, Antonio, Alyssa, Brandon, and many other therapists. I currently work with Jenica. Every single physical therapist I've worked with has been wonderful. Each has their own unique approach and strengths, but they have all been knowledgeable, attentive, caring, and genuinely committed to helping me feel better. Core has really become a place our entire family trusts. My husband and both of my kids have also gone to Core over the years for various issues. My kids went while they were in high school, whether they needed help with sports-related injuries or general back issues. We have all had such positive experiences there, and my entire family loves Core. The assistants to the therapists are also wonderful to deal with and very good at what they do. One of the things I especially appreciate about Core is that they recruit and accept students and graduates from various programs throughout the city, giving them the opportunity to gain valuable experience and further develop their skills. I think it's wonderful that Core supports the community in this way while helping develop the next generation of professionals in the field. The experience extends beyond the therapists as well. Vanessa, who handles the front office, is always such a pleasure to deal with. She is friendly, accommodating, and incredibly helpful. She even remembers to call me when there is a cancellation if she knows I'm looking for an additional appointment, which I really appreciate. Another thing I really appreciate about Core Conditioning is that they accept insurance, which can be so important when you need ongoing physical therapy. I personally have Blue Shield, and the entire insurance process has always been easy and seamless. I've never had to worry about it, which makes the overall experience that much better. Whenever someone tells me they need physical therapy, Core Conditioning is always the place I recommend. After 10 years of being treated there, I can confidently say that I have consistently had a positive experience and have always felt that I was in very capable and caring hands. I should've paid attention to some of the red flags. They are very limited classes. Sometimes you logon in the class is canceled. I could not find anything on their website that tells you how long a class is good for or a package if you buy one, and how soon you have to cancel your reservation without penalty. I tried to call the Burbank location multiple times but never got a person to speak with. So I went ahead and bought one class. I scheduled that class for Saturday morning at 8:30. Showed up at 8:18. I buzzed the door to get in. The first 10 seconds was silence. A lady that was working there that buzzed me in was doing a private with someone else. She asked who I was there for because she was the only one there that day. I proceeded to tell her that I was signed up for the 830 class. She told me she was unaware of one. I then apologetically said oh let me look at my app to make sure I didn't get the day and time wrong. I opened up the app and the class is now marked is canceled. No notification in the app, no email, no phone call, nothing. Just canceled without warning. The lady offered no apology. Just told me they send notifications through the app (they didn't) I always find it quite frustrating that you penalize customers for not canceling within a certain time period but you don't give the same respect to your patrons. I sent an email on Saturday, and got a response on Tuesday that my request for the payment to be credited back to my account would be granted, along with an acknowledgment of the instructor not sending a message out in the app. The person also did offer an apology. It's a very poor way to do business. It was a horrible first impression and I will never go back here. I hope they use this to do better for future customers.

Club Pilates has truly changed my life. I have a fractured spine, damaged knees, sprained wrists…read moreand for years I thought working out meant pushing through pain. Weightlifting and CrossFit would often leave me hurting for days and made it so hard to stay consistent. From my very first reformer class, Pilates felt completely different. It actually relieved my back while still giving me an incredible full-body workout. I'm strengthening muscles I could never properly target before without pain, and I'm finally seeing and feeling changes in my body because I can be consistent. And Club Pilates itself makes the experience even better. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, attentive, and encouraging, and the studio is such a beautiful, welcoming space. The music, cool AC, dim lighting, and calm atmosphere make the classes feel almost meditative while still challenging your body.
