From the: - friendly/welcoming instructors - bomb playlists that keep me energized - the overall vibe of the community - dark vibey environment I've been coming here 4-5x a week for the past 2 months and i absolutely love it! Such a great way to start off my day! They offer time slots from 5am and sometimes 8pm and it works SO well with my busy schedule. Some amazing instructors that keep my movements safe, effective and pushing myself to do a couple more reps: -JINNY (embodiment of total queen and badass! From corrections, to form, energy and encouraging/getting to know each client!! Amazing!) -Ayana (so sweet! Gives the best vibes even at the a** crack of dawn! gives u corrections/pushes u when she KNOWS you can do more) -Isabel (welcoming vibe and brings the energy! LOVE all her playlists too lol) Overall, the class itself is quick and over before you know it. They also have a short stretching and yoga section at the end of each class. I used to be adverse to affirmations, deep breathing and calming my mind as i do my stretches, thinking i was wasting time. I used to finish the class and dip out of there. But little by little i started staying a little extra for that moment to stretch out and clear my mind. DOES WONDERS!!! Literally it shapes the rest of my day and im so glad they incorporate this into the end of each class!!!! In the end, the price is a little high compared to other studios that offer a shower room and lockers. For $300/month, it would be a GAME CHANGER to have a shower, prepare, and go straight into my day after class. And sometimes emergencies or traffic or late coworkers happen, having to pay the cancellation fee is understandable. But if we wanted to reschedule for a same day class, we shouldn't have to pay an extra class fee. But that's just my opinion. I understand a spot is wasted if someone cancels, but i wish they waived the class fee if you wanted to schedule another class. In the end, i still love this studio and the one in studio city. It does affect how you are able to perform some of the exercise exercises. Reason 2: The instructor did not ask if I had any injuries, which most instructors do. I was a couple minutes late, so maybe that's why she didn't ask. But seriously most instructors want to know if there's injuries or anything so clients don't hurt themselves.

I tried several other studios and none of them had the joy and thoughtfulness I've experienced at Personal Pilates. They really mean personal! All of the instructors have done a great job tailoring the moves to fit my injuries and specific body. Kim's basics class has been particularly game changing. She really explains things in depth, and the pace is slow enough that it's easy to ask questions. But that doesn't mean it's not a workout! I always leave sweating. Most importantly, this place feels like a community. The people are kind and welcoming. As a plus size person, I often feel anxious in exercise spaces, worried that people are making judgements about my body, or that the instructors dont know how to adapt moves in a way that actually works, or that they might make offhanded negative or cruel comments about fat people, or even just overemphasize external changes and weight loss over strength, endurance, and enjoyment. I haven't experienced any of that here. In fact, the instructors at personal Pilates have been extremely helpful and accommodating about personalizing the work without making me feel any different than other students. And the students are all ages and sizes, which also helps! Lastly, at other Pilates studios I have sometimes felt sort of... like I'm inside of instagram. Like it's all about aesthetics. That's not the case here. This is really a place to enjoy what your body can do and get stronger. There isn't even a mirror, which I really love. I can't recommend it enough.

I was greeted immediately when arriving by the friendly staff who ensured I knew where everything was. The studio is spacious and has a lovely layout with a large mirror in front and reformers well spaced out from one another. The class I took was small and intimate which allowed the instructor to both demonstrate the moves while going around to offer assistance and corrections as needed. The reformers were all new and in great condition and the studio was also bright and clean with cute decor. There were plenty of props available to use. The instructor was great at really describing how to get into each move and incorporated a variety of exercises and stretches to get a full body workout. There were also modifications available, if needed. Afterwards, I felt amazing. They have a small parking lot that's shared with a few other businesses but I was able to find some street parking right in front!

To say I am a bit particular about the human body, especially mine would be accurate. I was lucky enough to be referred to Debbie, and have not been sorry for one minute since. The days before I saw her, I could not sleep, was sitting on ice, there was not one comfortable position as my left hip was vexing! After my first session with Debbie it stopped hurting, and has not bothered me since. With two reformers, a pilates chair, and various "devices" there is never a dull moment, nor a session that is like the last. Debbie understands the human body, has a myriad of ways of working around issues, and she listens. There are times I come in and say "stretch, and murder my core" and she does. Other times she sees how I am moving when I walk in the door, and creates a great session on the fly based on what she sees, and it is always spot on. If you make room in your budget and schedule for her, you will not be disappointed!

She paired me with Debbie who I've been working with in a committed manner - and I've been so grateful. The work takes time. Nothing is overnight. But the breakthrough is worth it. In this day, it is easy to run to the injections and/or surgery for things we don't give the time to heal and rebuild. It's harder to do the work and discover how the body has the ability to heal. I should've paid attention to some of the red flags. They are very limited classes. Sometimes you logon in the class is canceled. I could not find anything on their website that tells you how long a class is good for or a package if you buy one, and how soon you have to cancel your reservation without penalty. I tried to call the Burbank location multiple times but never got a person to speak with. So I went ahead and bought one class. I scheduled that class for Saturday morning at 8:30. Showed up at 8:18. I buzzed the door to get in. The first 10 seconds was silence. A lady that was working there that buzzed me in was doing a private with someone else. She asked who I was there for because she was the only one there that day. I proceeded to tell her that I was signed up for the 830 class. She told me she was unaware of one. I then apologetically said oh let me look at my app to make sure I didn't get the day and time wrong. I opened up the app and the class is now marked is canceled. No notification in the app, no email, no phone call, nothing. Just canceled without warning. The lady offered no apology. Just told me they send notifications through the app (they didn't) I always find it quite frustrating that you penalize customers for not canceling within a certain time period but you don't give the same respect to your patrons. I sent an email on Saturday, and got a response on Tuesday that my request for the payment to be credited back to my account would be granted, along with an acknowledgment of the instructor not sending a message out in the app. The person also did offer an apology. It's a very poor way to do business. It was a horrible first impression and I will never go back here. I hope they use this to do better for future customers.

When I had my first knee injury I had Kaiser and though I liked my PT, I don't think I grasped the severity of my injury. Today, I am still afflicted by my previous injury (6 years ago) and the adjustments my body has made to compensate. What I like about Core Conditioning is that they look at your injury through assessing your entire body (system). Who knew my knee injury would create weak muscle groups in other (related) areas??? Well, they did! The program they have created for me has focused on a range of exercises that I can do at home, combined with more intense clinic work and massage. Other pros: - helpful staff - clean office/clinic - appointment reminder calls - Saturday appointments They also offer a range of classes, such as pilates (mat & reformer), that I may look into after my PT sessions have concluded.
