I left a review last month after attending my first class and I just want to update my review to 5 stars! I really enjoy going to hip hop Tuesdays (and the occasional Thursday) with Cara, she is so upbeat and I especially love that she rides along with us. Other spin classes I take are also great, but the instructors isn't on the bike the ENTIRE time with us like Cara is so I really commend her for that. I feel like the sound system issue I mentioned in my last review has been resolved? Because I can def hear Cara just fine and I love her playlist. I have been spinning for about 5 years in LA and Orange County and Evolv is hands down the best spin studio I've ever been to! It is clean, friendly, mindfulness-focused, has an amazing sound system, dark room, dope projection screen, high quality Schwinn bikes, and has the BEST community vibe. I have literally met all of my closest friends just by coming to this studio, which is motivation in itself to work out with friends. Each class has an arm workout using the towel which BURNS MORE than you think it will! Be open-minded and treat it like a resistance band - great for toning! All of the instructors are incredible and coach their clients using high energy, incredibly fun and thoughtful playlists, and tons of MOTIVATION rather than yelling or shaming. They are extremely professional and will make you feel welcome from the first moment you walk in. DON'T BE LATE or you might not be allowed to enter the room - Evolv prioritizes preserving the space and the energy in the room, which I appreciate as a rider. This is NOT CYCLEBAR - it's not meant to foster competition or further our culture of number obsessions - we all already have to deal with that on a regular basis. I actually appreciate the 45-minutes of simply riding to the beat of the music, getting out of my own head, and not obsessing over my calories burned or how I compared to others in the class. I've been coming here for a little over a year now and it's been the best decision I've ever made for myself. The studio is nice, they have lockers for your belongings and the staff is very welcoming. I took my first class with Daisha and she was amazing. I did die a couple of times but what made me come back was her attitude and gracefulness. At the end of class she commended me for my accomplishment and had the whole class applaud for me. Although I felt defeated and had no desire in returning due to my own weaknesses, her gracefulness and adding the human connection made me come back and I haven't left since. If this is your first time ever taking a spin class, yes you will die, but you will get better. Yes, you might be embarrassed, but no one is even paying attention to you. We're all in this together trying to make ourselves stronger. I highly recommend this studio. You won't regret it. read more

Though I have given my overall experience 3 stars, I will say that the service deserves 5 stars. Other than that, I remain at the three star rating. First of all, the front check in needs a little more efficiency. It took a little while to get checked in, maybe because there was only one woman and one computer to do check ins. Nonetheless, the woman was extremely friendly and so was the instructor. I do appreciate the free shoe rental, towels, and lockers. The free shoe rental was new since all the other studios I ride at charge 2-3 dollars for the rental. The bathroom to put your shoes on was a bit tiny. You could barely fit three people in there and to use sinks to wash your hands, you had to access one of the stall since the stalls, I believe, are equipped with the shower, sink, and toilet. The class itself was just meh. The class was dark and had some neon lights and fun decor. I enjoy the dark classes so you can focus on yourself throughout the class. I will say this place needs a better speaker and microphone system. I could barely hear the instructor during class. For the workout itself, I definitely didn't feel that I got a great workout. I've never spent so much of class "in the saddle." I wasn't very sweaty after class, and I felt like I could've gone another hour. We weren't out of the saddle very much, so it didn't seem like I was burning very many calories. Also, some weights would've been nice for the arms portion of the class. We just held our towels, and it didn't feel like much of a workout. I will also add that I didn't know very many of the songs played. The music, to me, is the key part of the workout. It gets you going and you're supposed to cycle to the beat. Overall, I probably won't return. I enjoy my other spin studios a little more. If I'm paying good money, I'd like to be drenched by the end of my workout ;) TL;DR: - Service? Excellent! - Parking? Free and easy - Recommend? Eh, try somewhere else first. Such a lucky find in my neighborhood! It's been convenient, affordable and fun. My favorite instructor is JESSIE! She is the best. She hits all the marks of an awesome instructor- Explains each exercise clearly so you know exactly what you're doing, starts with a decent warm-up that builds in difficulty, great voice (sounds weird, but it matters!) And super positive and motivating. She knows what to say to keep you focused and engaged in your workout. **ATTENTION NEW/BEGINNER RIDERS** This was my first time in a spin class ever. My spin-obsessed better half was over the moon when I finally (albeit reluctantly) agreed to join her at her favorite studio in the world, EvolvCycle. Now I'm a decently athletic dude who figured that a 45 minute sweat session on the pedals wouldn't be too daunting... ok, who am I kidding?! I was TERRIFIED! (Does this sound like you? Please continue reading!) Upon arriving for our Saturday morning 8:30 class, we were immediately greeted with warm smiles and pleasant "good mornings." The man at the front desk, Joe, was incredibly nice and professional. There definitely seemed to be a healthy community vibe at this studio but at no point did it feel cliquey nor did I ever feel unwelcome. All of my reservations melted away as soon as we stepped foot into the amazingly clean and bright lobby. After strapping up my FREE SHOE RENTAL (many studios charge you to rent spin shoes) I got on my bike and before I knew it, the lights started to dim... I was in this thing now... HOLY SMOKES WHAT A WORKOUT! The instructor, Cara, definitely knew what she was doing (and she was a beast up there on the podium and had a huge, bright smile the entire ride). I was definitely humbled but far from discouraged. Even during some very difficult portions of the class (for me, at least), I would hear Cara's voice exclaim the perfect encouraging sentiment that got me back up out of the saddle and right back into the groove. Speaking of groove, talk about some awesome music! I'd be lying if I said that the music during this class is an exact copy of all my Spotify playlists, but it was undoubtedly PERFECT for this type of exercise. If anything, I discovered some new, interesting tunes thanks to Cara! The music in this class was extremely well balanced between the gritty "pedal fast and hard" segments, and the "mindful and focused" moments. Cara's class had quite the positive impact on me. After we finished stretching at the end of class I was greeted with high fives, fist bumps, smiles, and everything except JUDGEMENT. After just one class I can tell that EvolvCycle is a place where everyone is welcome, no matter your experience level. It felt great, I feel great, and YOU should definitely give EvolvCycle a try and have the experience of a lifetime! You will not regret it! ALL THE STARS!!!!! read more

After moving from the East Coast and lamenting leaving my local boutique cycle studio where I was friends with the owners and knew all the instructors and staff, I was sooooo thrilled to discover EvolvCycle in Studio City. Within a week of trying their great first month special trial, I knew that I had to make this my new go-to workout studio. Not only are the classes fun and challenging, but the front desk staff is awesome and quickly got to know me on a first name basis (special shout-out to Laura and Sam)! The studio is clean and the spin room dark with great acoustics, and all of the instructors are excellent in their own way. I'm especially obsessed with Mikey's Saturday Best Class Ever, as well as the more highly choreographed (dance party on a bike) classes by Katie and the energy of Cara! For those looking for a more straightforward cycling class, Stacy and Jessie fit that mold, so there really is something for everyone here! read more

This studio has quickly become my favorite of all the spinning classes I've tried in LA! Free parking - check Free shoe rental - check Free lockers - check Free water station - check These are little things, but it's amazing how many other studios charge for these basics. The bikes have a good amount of space between them so you don't feel too crowded like at SoulCycle. The room is dark with changing scenery lighting. My one complaint is that it is warm in the room - no fans or air - so it can get steamy. And so far all the different teachers have been great - the perfect mix of motivational, friendly, fun and upbeat. The music varies depending on the teacher. The class is a perfect 45 minutes, with a warm up, an arm section and a stretch cool down. It all started wonderful when I walked in and was welcomed by a big smile and hello from Laura who won my heart right away when she let me pet her furry friend Archie. (For the record,Archie was a dog, not just a hairy friend). I was nervous to get back into spin and was worried I was too out of shape to jump back in. Lynsey (the instructor), helped me get my bike setting just right, then lead us all in the most incredible, jam packed and exhilarating ride! I've been to this studio about 4x so far and love it! Super clean, staff is super friendly, they provide shoes, and towels. I have only had those eucalyptus towels after an 8:30 am class, but never when I take the 6:30 pm class...maybe they run out, who knows. This place is kind of corporate like corepower. All the instructors that I have taken have the same routine. Flat road, hill, arms, hill, "your alone time" and goodbye. This place is awesome, but I think there is some room for minor improvements. For example, the lights out thing is not good. I do not know how the instructor can even tell what the students are doing to help them improve. I have taken spin all over the place and the number 1 thing that students do is not put enough resistance. You just end up flying on your bike, burn no calories because the bike is doing all the work, you can injure yourself, and at the end you will get no results. Also, I love the towel arm workouts, but maybe they can add some light pound weights and have a spin+sculpt class? Just a suggestion. Thank you and see you soon! read more

I've been going to evolve for about two months or more now. The unlimited 1st month pass was a great motivation to start there. But trust me, that's not what kept me there. They have a great staff, towels, shoes, bathroom and a shower. It's not that type of place where you only go because one really great person teaches there. They have a ton of great teachers. And they all motivate you differently. Each class is different but just as great. It's also comes down to your own motivation as well. But they are there to try and keep you on track. If you are a beginner. Come a little early and someone will help you set up and get you comfortable. I've been to a few cycling places in the valley. I had my first class this week and really liked it! The facilities are pristine. Love the free shoes and filtered water. The bikes and shoes are brand new. The receptionist was super sweet and welcoming. Love the cold towel at the end. I'm sad that they don't record your stats. Hopefully they get the software!! I always like to know an accurate calorie burn, miles, max power, max RPM, and averages. I'm not sure if it was just the teacher I had, but he made it so we couldn't even see him (with all the lights off) and since it was my first time I didn't really know some of the terminology so I had to rely on looking at fellow classmates for direction. Music selection was good though! I also thought it was interesting we were never told a gear....just TWO BIG TURNS or FOUR BIG TURNS. It's hard to tell if I'm getting any stronger or faster without the stats/gear direction. Regardless, its a good calorie burner though. I had no trouble parking, which I was in fear of since they share a parking lot with not only Trader Joe's but other businesses. I'll be back Evolv!! =) read more

I've been spinning for about 6 months now. A new year's resolution has turned into a new life commitment. Evolvcycle is the perfect place to work out, not be judged and just do your thing. Desk staff is super friendly and supportive. There's no tracking of progress which makes it your own personal journey. Carli is inspiring and easy to follow. I love that she says: if you don't fail today I'm doing something wrong. The goal is to push yourself but also to take resistance down if you need, go at your pace. I'm loving this place. I've tried multiple "Spin" classes and have never been left wanting more like I have with Evolve. EvolvCycle is Brand Spanking New, super clean, nice bathrooms with a shower too. They let you borrow their Cycling shoes FREE of Charge (classy gesture), they provide clean white towels on each bike (convenient), the bikes are excellent and oh so comfortable (no bottom/crotch pain the day after) and wait for it... you even get a yummy cold wet towel infused with Eucalyptus Oil (I literally live for this - no joke!) - to me it is the BEST reward after a high impact, sweaty class. Oh and they also have ear plugs in the bathroom for those of us with sensitive ears. The reception staff knew our names from the second day (nice touch!) and always welcome us with smiles. The actual cycling room is the perfect size, with beautiful dim lighting, energetic music and a beautiful backdrop of images of the Universe and Clouds. There aren't too many bikes packed in there, which is nice, I hate touching my neighbour or having to adjust to avoid a collision. You definitely have a good amount of room around you without feeling claustrophobic - like at some other well-known places. The teachers are awesome, super energetic, encouraging, fun and just amazing. My favourites are definitely Cara (best spin class I've ever been to), Carli (definitely the most fun classes), Stacy (solid class). You really do feel incredible when you leave. You can book online which makes it super easy and convenient. Seriously love this place. I just hope it doesn't get so popular you eventually can't get in! I would come to EvolvCycle for the great teachers and easy parking but they have even more to offer. The price of the class includes shoe rental, towel and locker. They also have a great filtered water station to refill any bottle for class and (if all of these were not enough to convince you to give them a try) there are cool eucalyptus towels waiting for you when you are done. I've been taking classes at EvolvCycle for several months now, and I cannot say enough great things about this studio. The staff is very friendly, the studio is beautiful, and the bikes are nice and up to date. Cara is my favorite instructor by far--she's probably THE best I've ever taken class from at any studio. Book her classes in advance--they fill up! Today I forgot my socks and figured they'd sell socks for some outrageous price (because if you're in that position, you're stuck with whatever you gotta pay), but they were only $3 and some change! It's a small detail, but goes to show that they're not out to just make a quick buck off retail--they actually care about their students and want to get loyal long-time customers. They offer a $49 unlimited month with no commitment necessary and free shoe rental, and they also do ClassPass if you're a member. read more

Great spin class and studio! This new studio is great for many reasons. I'll start with the fact that they let you use their spin shoes FOR FREE! Super cool. Seriously. More great things: -The space is clean and has a water filter that you can use to fill your water bottles up. -There's free parking in the surrounding lot. -They have (2) showers for you to use. Also, I took a class with Cara and I really enjoyed her + the class. She was upbeat and full of energy and made the class go by quickly. First of all, I really like this studio. I've taken classes with several instructors. It's very clean, they have lockers for free, and hand out cold eucalyptus towels at the end of every class. Love it! I'm taking stars off because I took Stacy's class this morning, which started off with a very biased political discussion. Look, I get that the debates were last night, but you don't have to share your personal opinions and assume everyone in the room agrees with you. It's very alienating. Some of us come to class to get AWAY from our Facebook feed. Not a personal attack on Stacy, just maybe stick to instructing a cycling class and away from politics. read more

I've been coming here for about 3 months now, after years of not exercising regularly and trying places out without really staying in any of them, this place and it's team inspired me not only to stay but to come 5-6 days a week!!! I've done spinning classes before at other well-known locations however, I've never loved going to a place so much. Everyone here is so lovely and kind. They all know your name, from the girls at the front desk to the instructors (shout out to Cara and Stacy!) - you're not just a monthly fee. Classes are always fun and upbeat. Love this new spin gym (do you call it a spin gym, idk?) What I do know is that the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The actual gym is very clean, modern and offers showers. Brand new bikes, great instructors and great introductory offers ($49 for an unlimited month for new riders). Parking is in the Trader Joe's lot, so sometimes it can be tough but it shouldn't take you longer than 5 mins. Welcome to Studio City! read more
