I love coming to box union. The staff is great and has great customer service. My go to coach is Celina. I been coming here for almost a year now and have to say Celina makes you work out and pushes you. She so patient and def worth taking her class if you wanna grow them glutes

I started coming here in Aug and absolutely love it. I do a lot of group fitness classes at a bunch of different studios in LA and I can honestly say for me it's usually the instructors that make or break a place. Thankfully Box Union has a lot of great ones. Rico and Celina in particular are my personal favorites mainly because I feel like they hold me to a higher standard never letting me slack off and always pushing me to challenge myself even more since I take them so often. That said the rest of the instructors are just as amazing and I would recommend any of them to a first timer coming in. But as much as I love the instructors I think what keeps bringing me back and signing up for more classes is the hype crew at the front desk. Nanyamka, Shanairah and Matty from the very first class I came to as well as every class since then serve up an insane energy. I could be walking in sluggish and tired and they will have me hyped up and ready to go before I even step into the boxing room, Calling (sometimes yelling) my name as I walk thur the door, asking me 'are you ready', and always just making me feel well taken care of. But the hype doesn't stop, even after class they are right there asking me once again 'how are you feeling' and offering up high fives or a congratulatory dance moves asking me when am I coming back to see them. They say the first step of any fitness goal is simply showing up for yourself, which is true, but I think what keeps me motivated in the process is when other people show up with you and that's what Box Union does. There ability to show up for their members and bring such a positive atmosphere and vibe is why I will continue coming here. Finally I would highly recommend taking a Title 45 class as it helped me to learn all the moves and improved the work I was doing in their signature boxing to the beat classes.

I'm so happy I discovered this place, I started from coming once a week, then twice a week and after I got unlimited membership Stuff is amazing, all of them are super nice always. Coaches just rock they make you push yourself to the level that you didn't even know existed Trust me if you go once you're hooked. P.S Love u guys

Extremely happy that BoxUnion opened up a location in the valley! Combined workouts involving boxing and HIIT, each 45 min session is perfect for any level. Box to the beat of the music and you will get into the zone! What I love about BU are the coaches and the staff who are incredibly welcoming and encouraging at all locations. Their community approach focuses on building on both physical and mental health. What to expect: New or returning, the coaches teach the basic punches before building out a combination of punches. Prepare to shadow box, box in the bag, complete a round of ab workouts, and even test our your footwork and speed punching with a freestyle to end each session. All of this happens in a modern lit room with lights and music that make the mood incredible! Gloves, wraps, towels and water available to purchase each time. Free rental lockers available for use! Plenty of free parking, and next to the mall, so you can grab a bite to eat (much deserved after a workout right?) HIGHLY Recommend that everyone tries one class!

My wife has been taking our 5 year old to boxes classes at Apex for a few weeks. We heard from some friends that it was a great activity and gym, so we gave it a go. I had seen some photos and videos she had taken, which looked fun/cool, but today was my first chance to see the classes live. From the first few seconds, it was clear our son was already part of a community. He just turned 5, and it was so cool to watch him walk into the gym with confidence, fist-bumping and high-fiving other kids and the coaches. I thought I was going to have to coax him into starting the session, but as soon as we walked through the door he ran away from me/into the gym and was ready to go. The class had a mix of ages - my son was probably the youngest - but they all were able to do the class together seamlessly. Every single kid got individual attention, and each set of exercises were customized/adjusted to each kid's abilities. I properly met one coach, Constantine, but not the other one yet. They both were so good with the kids (and both are seasoned boxers themselves - some pretty cool photos/posters around the gym). It was also a legit workout - my son was sweating and completely locked-in/in the zone. It was so ridiculously cool to see. The coaches also are clearly teaching control, focus, and discipline in their practice, but in a subtle, sustained way. It was so impressive to see. While not necessary, the gym and equipment were also immaculately clean. As a side note, the other parents were also so kind. I had my 2 year old daughter with me as well who, understandably, wanted to wander and go up to everyone there, and I felt so welcome as she was met with nothing but smiles and parents in a playful mood. As the class wrapped up, they were prepping for the adult class, which I'm stoked to try out soon. Looks like an incredible workout and a great way to get in better shape. Very much looking forward to it. All that to say, I now get why my wife signed him up and was so adamant about how great of a place/class it is. It's unusual to see ANYTHING that has such high ratings as this place, but now it makes sense. Will be back next week.

So I called. Natalie answered the phone and we spoke for about 30 minutes. Natalie is one of the sweetest people I have ever met! I was somewhat intimidated upon walking in because I just started working out on my own; but, there is no need to be afraid. Everyone here is so welcoming, so helpful and very very friendly. After my initial evaluation with Chris (who is also amazing) he referred me over to Julian. I would like to start off by saying, that Julian knows what he is doing. Do not support this Row House location…read more I used to be a Row House member years ago at Long Beach. I also was a member at Long Beach rowing association and would row on the water at marine stadium during the week. When RHLB shut down (very sad day) I joined Granada Hills Row House since I would frequently come out to the valley. During my membership at Granada hills I would also row at other locations such as Tustin, Santa Monica and Westlake if I was in the area. I loved that I could access other locations with my membership. About a year ago I had to cancel my unlimited membership. I was commuting 90 miles round trip to work 5 days a week and it was exhausting and I didn't have the time for exercise. Fast forward to a couple days ago I got an email from Class Pass to join their membership as a trial. Now that I no longer commute and I was craving to get back into my routine and try new things I thought "let's give it a shot." I was excited to see that Row house Sherman oaks was on the system and I've been wanting to check this location out and possibly rejoin. I signed up for a class and got an email confirmation from row house Sherman oaks that I was in and to show up 15 mins early. So apparently I am "flagged" in their system for having too many Row House accounts. I get there at 10:15 (15 mins before class) and Ralph said I'm not in the system because I was flagged. He didn't give me any other explanation. I asked for a corporate number because I'm really confused as to why im flagged in their systems when I've been a paying member for years with no issues and have a trial with Classpass because it was offered to me via email. He said there's no corporate number. Ok Ralph. So I asked him what do I do? He gave me no resolution. The class wasn't full and apparently there were many cancellations and he said I couldn't take the class. I live in Woodland Hills so the drive to Sherman oaks took me about 30 mins with traffic on the 101. I didn't even get a phone call. Or an email. I booked the class the day before. Clearly they have my information if I'm in their system. They don't care about members or future members. It's all money and business. What a waste of time. In hindsight I'm glad this happened because had I ended up joining Row House again I would not choose this location as my home base to support. Also the parking here sucks. Thankfully I have a concept2 erg at home so I'll just enjoy it on my own time and if I feel the need to take a class and purchase a single session in person I'll go to row house Granada Hills even if it's a little further drive. :)
