Came here on a Sunday 7/8 for a 11 am class, I live in Woodland Hills and came in for a class that's supposed to be 10am and was told it was full for the next (3) classes- felt like it was just because I was a beginner and the instructor in Woodland Hills wasn't patient enough to teach, HOWEVER, Studio city on the other hand was 10/10 amazing and best instructor Stephanie was very patient on explaining me detail by detail on the equipment and how the whole class works, told her I did hot yoga and weight lift and actually this workout is by far the best one til to this day my core is hurting. I would actually come back and make the drive to go here rather than Woodland Hills just because of my experience with Stephanie, would 10/10 recommend trying this location! read more

The Service: Laura is my instructor. She is such an angel. She knew it was my first class and she took her time to explain the machine & her teaching style. She has great energy and super inspiring. She motives me in the class, when she saw me struggling with some pose, she would modify for me. Super accommodating! The Class: My first ever MegaBurn 45 class. OMG! I have never sweat that much in any other kind of work out in my life. I could feel the soreness of certain part of my muscles right after the work out. Yes, this work out class really works! I love the low lighting in the studio with music. It is a non-stop work out for 45 minutes but we do every pose in slow pace so that it really works on those body parts. It is amazing with just one machine, it could accomplish so many different exercise. I don't think I will go back to normal gym & jumping from one machine to another machine anymore. My favorite instructor by far is Fernanda - because she is super nice, knowledgable, always creates variety in the workouts and you can't forget, she has a fun reggaeton playlist! The studio is also dim so if you tend to get self conscious, it's a good studio for you. I have been meaning to write this review for quite a long time. It is only now that I recently resumed Pilates again with more professional and thoughtful Pilates instructors that I now have the courage to write this review. I think the studio itself is good. However, their instructor, Maria, ruined my pilates experience. Around 8yrs ago I started pilates and was enjoying it until I had a class with Maria. During a class I had to stop for a break during the exercises as I was having issues with my legs and feeling incredible weak. While I was trying to rest and recovery, she came over and while standing over me viscously scolded me saying "You can't just lie there". I was scared not only because of her piercing eyes or the anger in her voice but because I didn't know what was happening in my body. That experience was so shocking that I quit Pilates altogether because I never had that happen before on top of the callous treatment I received from Maria. I was very young and visibly healthy, it was only later I found out what happened was due to issues with my heart. I hope the studio no longer employs this grossly negligent instructor and that that whoever else they employ make client safety their utmost concern. read more

I've been going here for almost two years already and I'm in love! I've never been into working out, never liked the gym or any of the HIT classes such as training mate or Barry's. This isn't your traditional Pilates workout, it is full body strength training workout that really tones your butt, legs, core, and everything in between. The best part is that you start seeing results fast as long as you're consistent. All the trainers are amazing, Isabel, Stephanie, Shelby, Tay, Fernanda,and Jinny are my favorite trainers. The alternate between the studio city and Encino studio. I started in the beginning of 2023 and now I go almost every day. All of the trainers are helpful and if you're new to Lagree and the reformer, you can work at your own pace and overtime you get better and better. The workouts are always different so your body doesn't get used to the same thing and doesn't plateau. read more

Found this place about a year ago and don't know why I haven't posted before now! I had been a devout Pilates participant for years but had never tried Lagree. Let me tell you, 40 mins for a complete body workout (cardio AND strength)?! That's a no brainer. I love their monthly packages and the very versatile times they offer. I tend to work late so need to be at their later classes and really appreciate these options. Then on weekends they have a consistent set of times to choose from as well. The instructors are always friendly and knowledgeable. I LOVE Tay and Meg- they're enthusiastic and motivating but not in the fake way that other fitness classes at other places may portray. This place is GREAT for career women on the go who need to use their time as efficiently as possible. Without this option, I don't know if I'd get a decent workout in during the week. You would need two hours in a normal gym for the amount of good it does for your body in 40. The exercise itself keeps the body strong and toned without bulking. Keeps your curves in all the right places. I cannot say enough about this place and its staff! They've created a super fan! read more

I actually took my one and only class back in June through class pass. Another friend of mine, currently going through her Pilates teacher training courses, and I just had a discussion about it the other day and ended up ranting about the same issues. The machine itself is very large and complicated, and a beginner to this specific reformer should be taking a specialized class, not mixed with long-time students. Period. But I suppose that not the best financial use of their time. The music was LOUD. So loud. I could barely hear the instructor on her microphone...which is especially tedious when they are only supposed to give verbal cues to move from one exercise to the next. And when the majority of the class did something wrong BECAUSE NO ONE COULD HEAR, she aggressively said, now in louder voice so we could all hear "you would be in the correct position if you actually listened to me." Ahahah, broooooo. Maybe you should be using the voice for the whole class, since now it's clear you're capable of it. A good majority of the exercises were impossible unless that is your sole workout for months, which is fine, but we were given NO WAY TO MODIFY. So you can either stop, and sit in a workout class costing $$$, or do the exercise incorrectly in an attempt to get through it. When we did a side series - I was set up to see everyone exercising on one of the sides and it hurt the bottom of my soul - the variety of incorrect positioning: collapsed lower backs, knees not going over toes when bending, completely unengaged cores. And the instructor did not say a word to anyone, not even generic corrections. Or to be fair, maybe I didn't hear any of the loud, club music. read more

Pilate plus is truly a gem. It's one of the more challenging workouts but it truly makes a difference in tone! Noel, Megan, and Shiran are really wonderful. In fact, all the instructors are great. My first time there and I had the worst experience. Their instructor named Tei, was absolutely rude and refused to instruct me and set up my equipments ( my first time) because I didn't buy a pair of $20 socks from them. The first trial class is $20 and they wanted me to pay $20 for just a pair of socks. Fortunately I had a pair in my car but when I came back she didn't instruct me and left me alone. She was absolutely rude and ignored me when I asked her for help...I didn't know how to work the Pilate machines out, so I left...This place is horrible. I left and they kept my $20... we need less people like Tei in our community. There are much better Pilates studios around there... I'm sorry for her and people like her. read more

Got to check out this place again after my last review. I took the abs and ass class at 1 pm. It was a great quick workout and the instructor made sure to walk around and monitor form. It looks like they remodeled the place a bit since the last time I came, but still very chic and clean. I wish they have better deals on their packets though, for the moment I will continue class passing it. I would highly recommend it for those who want to work on their core and really get a good sore feeling for the days to come. The micro-movements for both the abdominal and butt area really hit the spot. If you have never taken a regular Pilates class, I would recommend taking the foundation class. But if you have done regular Pilates, this of the Lagree method as Pilates on steroids. read more

things have changed, i won't be back. just unprofessional. bought a class of 8 missed class 6 because i wasn't feeling well. Either Megan or Kristi proceed to cancel my class and charge me an additional 25 when i'm already losing a class for not being there. This is a real crappy policy, especially when you have reformers literally 2 inches from each other. I've had another situation in the past where I started my monthly cycle at the beginning of a class, asked Krist if i could make it up another day and she told me no. I've loved coming here for years! It's a great workout, but you have to trial & error which instructors are more your vibe. I recently took Katrina's class & was so annoyed that she wanted us to "push through" some really tough moves at the end of the class, but was playing slow r&b music... I was like no, not with this music!! Come on - if you're working out, give me some faster workout beats. Not taking her class again. Great workout! Can't remember class instructor name but class was challenging and went by fast. Only negatives are space needs a little TLC and could be cleaner. Parking is not ideal. I have been a member for over a year with Pilates Plus and I am appalled at the way this studio takes advantage of their members. If you are looking to pay 300 dollars a month for a regular membership and then pay an additional $25 if you cannot make it to a class for being sick, or having an emergency, I highly suggest you rethink joining! I am a mother and work, and emergencies and sickness happen! On Monday, I had updated my billing info as soon as I received it, and Megan suspended my class, put my account on hold, not even after one day! All because of the $25 fee I had to pay for being sick on Monday and being considerate of other class members. This fee could not be processed since my wallet had been stolen. Not only is it ridiculously overpriced and is the policy absurd, you are treated as dollar signs here not as a person who experiences life. They also do not offer any classes past noon on Friday, Saturday or Sunday! In addition to this, instructors come and go consistently. You will find someone you love, and the next thing you know they're gone and you're being trained by a new person with hardly any experience! This goes for the studio city studio, encino studio and burbank. It is not worth the money! Do not waste your time and definitely not your money! read more

Worst experience ever!!! I drove for 45 minutes stuck in traffic to get to my first class, which was just starting. The instructor Noelle rudely turned me away saying she already started the class and I was supposed to show up early for her to show me how to use the machine. No one called me from the studio prior to communicate any of this. The only thing I got from them prior to the class was a confirmation text. Also, no one ever picks up the phone when you call. I've done one on one Pilates on the machines for years due to a knee injury and she didn't even bother to ask me if I've done Pilates before and just assumed that its my first time on the machines. I paid for the class ahead of time and will request a full refund because I'm not planning on returning to this place ever again. Worst customer service I've ever seen in my life. read more

There is NOTHING like Lagree to tone and have the best body with overall strength and flexibility. Just the best exercise out there. HOWEVER, and quite unfortunately very, very FEW instructors really stay true to the Lagree Method. I have done Lagree all over Los Angeles, and I PROMISE you that you will never find a better instructor than Shannon Hearn! I drive over 2-hours to take her class when there are 5 Lagree studios in my area. SHE IS THAT GREAT! Truly the absolute BEST instructor in L.A. She is a purist and stays true to the Lagree Method and cares enough about her students to make sure they do too. She is very exacting and attentive during class. You will never find her phoning it in as you will in so many other places. She consistently corrects your form and is 'in contact' with her class. Just take her class and you will see exactly what I mean! I have been in touch with the owner of MOTIVATE, Cereza, and have requested that her instructors be TRAINED by Shannon. Word of wisdom: Never underestimate taking a class at Pilate Plus!!! It's definitely not your average Pilates studio, after all it's "Lagree", In my own words, Lagree means "hardcore/challenging/I can barely do it" :) I love Pilate Plus and it's honestly one of the most challenging core workout I have ever done! I really get sore pretty much after each class and feel like I REALLY had a workout! I have tried other Pilates studios and was NEVER this challenged physically! Some instructors are harder than others and some are more attentive than others too. I can't say I have a favorite. read more

I'm addicted to this place. Addicted. I have been going religiously for months now and let me tell you, it doesn't get any easier! Haha! I try to force my friends and fiance to come all the time so they can understand how much I suffer and so I can watch them suffer. :-) I love all the instructors, but I have a particular hard on for a few of them- Beth. She enjoys being evil, which is why I try to take all of her classes. The more you suffer during class, the more she laughs and the harder she pushes you. I think she kept us in a plank one time for 15 minutes. Her classes are the best and her music is the best. My fiance swears that this is her part time job and her full time job is torturing inmates at the detention camp in Guantanamo Bay. Yup, no joke. Shannon. Very good instructor and super super super sweet. If she says anything to you in class it is just to make sure your safe and you don't fall off that machine (I've seen people eat shit on that machine hahhaha). She will work your legs on one move for 5 minutes, so get ready for that. I definitely shake non stop in her class! And if she teaches the advanced class she takes no prisoners. She is also very good on form. Lisa. She always changes it up and I like the flow of her routines. I'm guaranteed to sweat in her class. Kristi. Pilates Plus has changed my body, and more importantly changed the way I view my own body. Yes, if you can dedicate yourself to this practice 5-6 times per week you are destined to see physical results and feel the mental results (get the discounted month and see for yourself!). I have disc issues and this class is how I cope. The slow, micro movements have helped me build a stronger core which has overall lessened the pressure on my back. Breathing and improved posture have also come as results of a few months dedicated to this practice. Here is a breakdown of my favorite classes/instructors (FYI I work in Woodland Hills but live in Studio City, so I split between the two studios -- SO convenient if you're a valley girl like me!) .... 1. Shannon's class is my favorite 55 minute, but holy cow I only can handle it after I get a continual week under my belt. Her class will make you shake guaranteed. I know when I'm looking to up my game, I need to come to her morning classes. What a way to start the day! 2. Tay's classes were my favorite 40 minutes classes. She is super sweet, the music is great, and she will keep a strong pace of the class. 3. Beth's classes are also fun, I prefer her 40 minutes, but have taken her 55 when I'm feeling able to handle it. The music is older electronic music and brings me back to Vegas trips. Expect to work hard and have fun. 4. Arielle's classes are great for when you need extra instruction. She is excellent with form assistance and will re-position you as needed. 5. Katie G's classes are also great! She is super nice and really helpful if you have any questions. Music is fun, and the 55 minute classes don't seem quite as long as they are. I've been to Pilates Plus Megaburn 55 classes twice now and have really enjoyed myself. Having never done Lagree Method and really only ever been on a reformer a few times in life, I felt this class to be challenging (which I love! What's a workout, if it's not a challenge?), yet rewarding and easy to follow without frustration. It's not the type of challenging where you can't follow or keep up and feel you've wasted your time sitting around not being able to workout which I can't stand. As a new client here, one may think they will not be able to follow along but there are always people in class who aren't beginners that you can glance up at to catch on. Take breaks when needed and get right back in it. Both instructors have been friendly, and encouraging - walking the room to make minor corrections which is something I can really appreciate. Allowing someone to do something the incorrect way can only lead to one thing, injuries! Which is the LAST thing I need. This is the type of workout that has me checking the clock - I love these types because I know I'm checking to see how the hell much longer I've got to endure and push through. I love a workout that breezes by, but those where I need to check the time I know REALLY have me working in ways I may not be use to. I definitely would choose the 55 over the other lesser times because I want all the time I can get in here. The oblique work really stands out to me here. I've booked classes via Classpass but this may be an option for me to consider adding to my on going workout routine. I walk here from home, so parking isn't an issue. I bring my grippe socks, water bottle and towel. I'm usually sweating within the first 5-10minutes of class and walk home feeling accomplished I've been able to do something new and different for my body, to help improve my overall athletic performance by strengthening muscles I may not have otherwise been targeting in my other workout routines. I'd recommend checking the place out, regardless of your athletic ability as I'm a firm believer that everyone is capable of doing just about anything, and you can always work with your instructor for modifications if needed. read more

I frequent Wundabar down the street and love it there but decided to try this place out bc I always pass by it. This place is no joke. It's extremely challenging, and the weights are heavy. It's hard for me to do some of the moves sometimes. I do have to say that if you're coming here for the first time they aren't as thorough with the moves and explanations. I've just learned to look around and see what other people are doing and get corrected from that point on. For some reason, I haven't had instructors that I thought were welcoming or friendly at this location. I also visit the studio in Encino and enjoyed it a lot better. I do have to say I prefer the set of of the machines all lined next to each other in a single row as opposed to two rows. Anyway, I always leave the studio extremely sore which is a good thing. There's also a few parking spaces in the back lot and ample street parking. read more

Lisa and Brittney's classes are the best. I feel like as I get stronger their classes get harder, and I love it. They push you and make you feel great about yourself. Shannon was a great instructor and really paid attention to everyone's form and corrected me when I was doing it wrong. With Pilates form is so important. That extra inch really makes a difference. Having never done pilates anywhere before, I had my reservations about trying it, even after years of people nudging me towards it. As a guy who has done all kinds of fitness routines, I (naively) had my own assumptions about what it might be like. Boy was I wrong. I finally made it into Pilates Plus in Studio City after a friend told me about the megaformer (aka torture device). Without any jumping around or intense lifting (a la CrossFit) this is the hardest workout of them all, with almost no risk of injury. After each of my first few classes, I was sore in places I didn't know I could be sore. (Which is to say, I was hooked.) I took the 1-month unlimited membership, and looked forward each time to the days where I went in for their workouts. By the end of my month, I made it a point to go to most of the trainers. And while they're all really nice, the intensity and vibe are very different from one to another, which I found to be a good thing depending on how I felt that day. (I suggest your own trial and error to see who works best for you). For me, however, there were a few that I really enjoyed going to, again and again. Lacey, Lisa, and Luke -- 3Ls, as if it were meant to be -- and Paola (though I only went to one of her classes) who was quite good, too. Here are my two cents on what makes each of them good, and why you'll want to come to Studio City for yourself. Lacey, who usually does mornings, has an amazing energy about her, and somehow manages to cater each workout for the most beginner and most advanced students all at once. Even at 6 or 7 or 8 or whatever ungodly hour she's teaching, she makes the pain of another reverse bear slightly more ... bearable. I've taken maybe 6 - 8 classes with her, and I'm pretty sure she only knows how to smile. Her positivity alone makes taking her class the best way to start a day. I've probably done Lisa G's classes the most, mainly because she teaches a lot at my times of the day. I also went b/c I really enjoyed the variations she runs in her workouts, as if they were meticulously prepared days ahead of time. (They probably are.) She is a perfect blend of drill sergeant and cheerleader, knowing just the right way to tell you how great you're doing while making it clear that she won't let you quit, or rest, even if you're in excruciating pain. Haha And Luke is who you'd want to take to a.) get the absolute most out of your workout while b.) having someone who corrects your form down to the very inch. After you realize how much better you get at the moves from just a few of his classes, you will come to appreciate his meticulous attention to detail. I feel like a pro already, even though I'm far from it, and it's because of his classes. You can't go wrong with any one of these three instructors, or any of the others here really. The studio is clean, is run well, and has proven to be one hell of a workout. I just wish I'd started it a long time ago. I have lots of love now for Pilates Plus SC. And, naturally, a little bit of hate! (In a good way.) You will too. read more
