You can access the main bus transit station and the mall from one pedway and the other residential neighborhoods via another pedway. During busier times of day there is a convenience store within. Generally it is a pretty useful lrt station if you want to access the mall or bus station or any of the surrounding neighborhoods. It is clean and well-maintained.

They do a great job of keeping it clean and I like that they have one of those little convenience stores in a good location so it doesn't interfere with the flow of foot traffic like the one at Century Park where the line often cuts you off from the bus schedules. I also like that because it's so close to the mall it's easy to just use the washroom in Southgate before walking over and catching the train which saves me a trip into the sometimes dirty ETS washroom. There isn't as much room as I would like indoors to hide from the elements during winter time but people who come through this station are generally pretty respectful so I don't worry too much about being bothered or having my personal space encroached upon. I wish all of the stations were as good as the one at Southgate.

The buses themselves are not that much different from my usual ETS bus with the exception of the padding on the seats. It might not seem like much to someone who doesn't use public transit but for those who sit more than half an hour at a time on their way to and from home trust me your posterior starts to feel it after awhile and I really wish ETS would take a page from St. Albert and add much needed cushioning to their buses. I found the drivers to be friendly and knowledgeable. The two I talked to today not only knew their own routes well but also what ETS buses stopped at the same stops once in Edmonton to connect their customers to transit centers that St. Albert does not service. The weekend service here is also impressive as I am used to dial a bus service in other cities like Sherwood Park but they do infact run regular routes for most of Saturday in St. Albert. The only reason I feel the need to deduct stars is because of the fact their online trip planning tools are absolutely atrocious. They rely on Google transit as opposed to having their own independent trip planner on their site like ETS and once I got over my frustrations I had to laugh due to the fact their instructions for changing the date and time when using google transit are wrong. When I finally did get it working it was still painful as there weren't any listed instructions with stop numbers and addresses just lines on a map with different colors corresponding to what route it was asking you to take. If you wanted to zoom in and take a closer look the site was absolutely unforgiving and you had to make darn sure you clicked the EXACT right spot or it would not give you the info you were trying to get out of it. I would love to see them expand their customer service hours as well as get their own on site trip planner then I could easily see this turning into a five star review. Even then I think they do a great job of providing transit to locals as well as those commuting in and out from the Edmonton area.

Besides being right across the street from an excellent junior/senior high school McKernan station…read moredoesn't have all that much going for it. There are no public washrooms at the station and the hospital which I believe is the closest easily accessible washroom is still a bit of a hike up the street. There is a stop in front of the station for the routes 106,4,and 313. The 4 is often a very packed bus but it is worth noting that it as well as the 313 will take you almost to the front door of the cross cancer institute which is nice if you or a relative are receiving treatment there it cuts down on your walking and time spent outside in the elements which can be important if you're unwell. Being a surface station with no fully enclosed shelters can make it a misery in the winter. ETS likes to boast about the heaters they installed there but they installed them so high up to prevent things like vandalism that some days you don't even notice that they are on. Honestly if you can find other connections to get where you're going that don't involve this station I highly recommend it. It is just a minimal surface station that gives off the impression that city council had some extra money laying around the year they built it and decided to use it on an LRT stop.

This is the station closest to my home so one of the ones that I use often. It is a nice big…read moreoutdoor platform. Unfortunately right now it doesn't have a lot around it. That will change over time as the South Campus of the University of Alberta starts to expand into this area. I really look forward to that time when this area is hustling and bustling with University Students and Staff. As far as the station goes it is a pretty bare bones outdoor platform. It gets the job done. There is an enclosure to stand-in if the weather is too chilly for you.

I also find it easy to make most of my bus transfers as the buses are quite close to the train compared to some of the other stations. There are some great routes available once you get off the train if your looking to get to the Leger transit center as well as WEM. I find the transit peace officers tend to ignore it in favor of the downtown stations which some may like and others may not. I can honestly say though in three years of using our public transit I have only been stopped for a proof of payment check here once. There are washrooms available over by the buses as well as vending machines. My one and only gripe with this place is the fact the glass shelters to hide from the elements in are not fully enclosed which seems really silly in a city with Winters like ours.

It serves both the Capital Line and the Metro Line. It is an underground station located beneath Jasper Avenue between 103 Street and 104 Street. It is named for both the former Hudson's Bay Company store and Enterprise Square, the University of Alberta's downtown campus. The concourse level is connected to the pedway system through Enterprise Square In general, I try to only travel LRT during business commute hours or in large groups for a football game, etc. Otherwise, the buddy system is the way to go!
