The spa part itself was fine, but when it came to shaping and painting my nails, things went left. I have thick nails on my pinky toes and Cindy didn't file them down or smooth them out. Immediately that day they were snagging and catching on my shoes and sheets. I also had a cracked nail that I thought she would either repair or trim. She did neither and just proceed to paint over it, crack and all. What really got me was that I selected a bright green color that needs several coats (or a good technique) to look opaque. She did two streaky coats and attempted to top coat. I had her remove the polish twice and finally paint the large toes with white polish beneath the green so it looked decent. The end result looked tacky, with nail polish flooding my cuticles and appearing very unprofessional overall. I generally do my own nails at home but decided to treat myself. Honestly I would have done a better job. The best part is that after she finally finished painting my nails, she forgot to top coat my nail on my left foot. Also, I was never offered a beverage even though they had a fridge of soda, wine and water. Service here was lacking. I would find another salon if you're in the area.

I didn't feel like traveling over the mountain, so I decided to locate one on my side of town. I found Fancy Nails in the Festival Shopping Center near Burlington, and decided to give them a try. They are a smaller shop, much like the size of one of Regal Nail salons in Walmart. Their equipment is updated and clean and they offer many different services to enhance your visit. I opted for the deluxe pedicure that included about a 15-20 minute soak, sugar scrub, cooling mask, hot towels, honey butter lotion and all the basic stuff you normally get with a pedi. With this service you are offered complimentary wine or water. Compared with the services you get and the price, I think it's an awesome value. The older lady who did my service was great and I was very pleased with the finished job. My legs and feet felt like silk and my baby pink polish was perfect. I could tell she was pleased with her work as well and was very conscientious about it. I appreciate that. There were several ladies waiting to be serviced, but I didn't feel as if I was rushed. Their health score was a 95. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and feel like I received high end service for a great price. While they do not offer some of the fancy options such as hot stone massages or organic products, I am ok with that. I will be a repeat customer.

Overworking my nail bed has made them very brittle and I've been struggling with breaking nails, even with the gel on, by doing simple things like ripping tape off a box. I try not to leave negative reviews on small businesses but it's been weeks and the state of my nails is getting worse by the day because of the job they did. I'll never return here.
