As the sun shifted, I felt like I was boiling. The service was slow but not terrible. I ordered the lasagna, which was one of the worst I've had, and I've had my share of bad lasagna. It was mushy and not to my taste. My partner's spaghetti carbonara tasted overwhelmingly of pepper. The fried guanciale slices were the highlight, but the overcooked egg resembled scrambled eggs, mixed with powdered pepper flavor. It was inedible for us. Perhaps this is a traditional Venice way of cooking but I did not like it. My Prosecco was good, but they serve Pepsi instead of Coke, which wasn't great either. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

When we arrive the waiter says the kitchen doesn't open for 30 minutes but we can sit at a table and have a drink. We have a bottle of water for the table and a glass of rosé. A couple sitting next to us ( obviously tourists as well ) were told the same thing. A group of people walk up, obviously locals and start chatting with the waiter, he seats them and immediately brings out wine and bread to them. Within 10 minutes he brings out armfuls of various pasta dishes to them. Meanwhile we wait another 15 min before he even acknowledged us again after serving food to yet another group of 6 locals that just arrived. We finally get to order, the food is fine, then sat with empty glasses and plates on our table for 15 min again without acknowledgement, we have to get his attention to ask for the check, he brings 10 min later, I immediately put my card in the holder and sit it to the edge of the table so he can obviously see it's ready. He NEVER comes back, so we think " oh maybe we need to pay inside ". We go inside, I am waiting behind a local at the register ( but I am leaving room for people to pass thru because it is a small space ) and when the person I a waiting behind leaves two local step right in front of me and the lady at the register says nothing. After they pay I step up to pay, I say hello, she is silent, she runs the card put the receipt down and walks away. In short, worst dining experience I've had in Venice, they obviously hate tourists and are not shy about it.
