Ask for Hugo and Cody. Careful and efficient with our items. The admin was confused and didn't know what was going on

We are retired seniors and this is our 6th home move. It is not our first rodeo in selling a home…read moreand moving. Originally as we were moving out of state, we tried one of the national moving companies which we will never do again. As everything is only done over the phone. They wanted half of the quote money up front, did not even have half of our belongings listed and the CU (cubic units) was short, about 1,000 cu. Plus, other issues we will not mention. We felt they lacked proper communication and dealings were not professional from our standpoint. My husband contacted "VALLEY CUSTOM MOVERS" from Nampa, ID and we cannot say enough great things about them. Corey is one of the owners. came to our home and physically walked through and listed everything with us. He listened, answered all our questions and always personally returned all our calls after were gave him the job. Yes, their quote was right on, matched everything we wanted moved and the quote was a very great price for what we needed. His crew did complete packing, loading and storing all belongings in their warehouse until we have a new home out of state. On our job we had 1 owner & 5 crew members and each one of them were very efficient in what they were doing. They each knew what needed to be done. The packing of our home (1,900+ sq ft) home was completed in about 5 hours. The next day it only took them about 2 hours + to load 2 trucks and take our belongings to their warehouse. My husband was thrilled with their professionalism, quality of work and how they each asked questions. To be sure that what was being moved would go into the trucks and items that needed to be left. They are like a one shop move with the same crew packing, loading, storing and delivering our belongings to our new home and setting up all our furniture. They all get an A+ rating from us from Tara in the office to Corey and the other owners and all their crew.

There were two sets of men packing the truck and on the end unpacking. I was a little worried about that but, it turned out that everything was great. Both sets of men were friendly and did what I asked as far as packing and unpacking.

We hired Cross Town Movers after talking with a few other companies in the valley. I spoke with…read morethe manager who was able to give me a quote over the phone and schedule me for the day I needed without issue. I had to reschedule once and there was no issue. I can tell you his pricing was better than everyone else's and he was much more accurate at estimating time needed then any other company I spoke with. I met with the team of movers at our storage unit and they were there and ready to work before I got there. I showed them the three storage units we had and was told it wouldn't take long. They even turned in my keys with the storage unit so I wouldn't have to stay while they loaded everything. It took them an hour and a half to load everything, which was absolutely incredible. They met me at the new house, did a quick walk through and started to unload. They even helped us to unload the POD we had in the driveway. These guys were awesome! Professional, helpful, and willing to do whatever needed to ensure our experience with Cross Town was top notch. The overall move took only 4 hours, which was less than was bid. The bill was exactly what I expected, no hidden costs, and the team was beyond my expectations. I cannot thank Evan, Elliott, Paul, Zac and Andrew enough!

Then I requested another move within a year from same upstairs room to a 2bd apt. The first team was late. About midway into loading the truck, I was told there was a problem with the first team not competently loading their truck fast enough, then causing a SECOND team to show up at the destination. This was going to be betterand faster and should cost about the same as last time. NO. The first team failed me. (One of the team members kept going into the moving truck and taking vape hits. Now, I didn't think too much of that at the time. Thought it might help him enjoy his job better?) ugh. Then I overhear a comment saying "There's so much little stuff." Really? since when do movers bitch...lol So the second team was in and out and done by dark. There was some time where the apt peeps messed up and had to wait, but. Still, I was charged $1650 for this ridiculous move. (I was shocked. I have never in my life paid close to that.) I did make a comment about what it would be to move a house. $20,000? Really? so toss in the bucket fee to these guys. and I tipped them too. will I ever learn. Anyway, Double charged for DOUBLE THE TROUBLE. I will never use them again nor recommend. I am moving next year and happy to try someone else.

We hired Reliance Moving to help us move the end of April 2019. They must have overbooked that day,…read morebut chose to do our move anyways. We requested 3 guys and they sent 2, neither of which knew what they were doing. They were slow, one of the guys took at least 5 breaks that totaled over an hour. The guy who took all of the breaks complained multiple times that things were "too heavy". The truck was only about 2/3 full when they told me it was a full load. Instead of using dolly's to move stacks of boxes into the truck they carried one at a time regardless of its size or weight. We have moved 7 times in the past ten years and have hired moving companies every time. In our previous move we moved from Boise to Meridian and hired a company that sent 2 guys who moved all our things in one load in under 3 hours. It took the guys from Reliance Moving 2 loads and almost 7 hours to move the fewer items to our new house that was less than a mile away from the old one. They also damaged our wood floors by dragging a piano across them instead of using dolly's. When my wife pointed our the damage the guy blamed her and said she should have "put plastic over the floor". I called and messaged the company about the damage and never received a response. At the end of the move they tried to charge me more than was agreed upon and couldn't provide me with and invoice. It was clear that these guys were not Reliance Moving's "A-team" and I'm guessing they weren't even employees, but guys they hired for the day to help out because they were overbooked. If you're going to portray yourself as a professional moving company you need to employ professional movers and deliver the service that you advertise on your website.

I've generally had ok experiences with movers but a few bad apples give the rest a bad name (ahem,…read moreit rhymes with shmironman) . I wish all movers were like Cameron and Eric from Reliance. A few of the many things I appreciated...They were polite, and very professional. If they didn't know where something went, they asked. I know it sounds simple but a lot of movers don't do that. They did not mess around either. They were working at full speed all day. They were also extra careful with wrapping my baby's things so they would stay clean. I had my infant son and my dad was helping me with unpacking and organizing and they frequently asked if either of us needed help. My dad, who had never used movers and thought it was ridiculous that I was hiring people for something we could do ourselves, said "wow!! That was totally worth it!" I will use them for my next move without hesitation and whole-heartedly recommend their services.
