Beware of using this company to move The first time the move took about 4 hours. 3 flights of stairs 2b to a one room upstairs in a house. erything went well. Fee reasonable. Then I requested another move within a year from same upstairs room to a 2bd apt. The first team was late. About midway into loading the truck, I was told there was a problem with the first team not competently loading their truck fast enough, then causing a SECOND team to show up at the destination. This was going to be betterand faster and should cost about the same as last time. NO. The first team failed me. (One of the team members kept going into the moving truck and taking vape hits. Now, I didn't think too much of that at the time. Thought it might help him enjoy his job better?) ugh. Then I overhear a comment saying "There's so much little stuff." Really? since when do movers bitch...lol So the second team was in and out and done by dark. There was some time where the apt peeps messed up and had to wait, but. Still, I was charged $1650 for this ridiculous move. (I was shocked. I have never in my life paid close to that.) I did make a comment about what it would be to move a house. $20,000? Really? so toss in the bucket fee to these guys. and I tipped them too. will I ever learn. Anyway, Double charged for DOUBLE THE TROUBLE. I will never use them again nor recommend. I am moving next year and happy to try someone else. read more

I used Crisstown Movers 2 months ago to move items from a home and from a storage unit into a new home. During the move, two brand new Google Nest speakers in unopened packing went missing. Two months later I have determined that they did not get to my home. I called Crosstiwn Movers recently to inquire about this. The person I spoke with told me she spoke with two of the four movers about it and they had no knowledge of what may have occurred. She said she would speak to the other two and get back to me, but I have not heard back. I wouldn't just throw this out willy-nilly, but it is evident that the speakers are not in my home as I am 100% unpacked. They are small even in the packaging, and I am left to wonder if they were stolen. In addition, my directions for how I needed items placed into my garage weren't followed. I asked for shelves to be put up against my wall and for open walking rows to be left in between stacks of totes. I had recently had elbow surgery. I had to completely unpack my whole garage by myself in order to re-organize it because the directions weren't followed. I did this with one arm. read more

However, when we recently unloaded the the stuff from the storage garage to move to our new place, we found that they badly damaged the top of our dining room table when they stacked things on top of it. We hired Cross Town Movers after talking with a few other companies in the valley. I spoke with the manager who was able to give me a quote over the phone and schedule me for the day I needed without issue. I had to reschedule once and there was no issue. I can tell you his pricing was better than everyone else's and he was much more accurate at estimating time needed then any other company I spoke with. I met with the team of movers at our storage unit and they were there and ready to work before I got there. I showed them the three storage units we had and was told it wouldn't take long. They even turned in my keys with the storage unit so I wouldn't have to stay while they loaded everything. It took them an hour and a half to load everything, which was absolutely incredible. They met me at the new house, did a quick walk through and started to unload. They even helped us to unload the POD we had in the driveway. These guys were awesome! Professional, helpful, and willing to do whatever needed to ensure our experience with Cross Town was top notch. The overall move took only 4 hours, which was less than was bid. The bill was exactly what I expected, no hidden costs, and the team was beyond my expectations. I cannot thank Evan, Elliott, Paul, Zac and Andrew enough! read more

Our most recent moving crew, Gage and Colin were on-time, professional, and had the best 'can-do attitude'--even when moving the big stuff upstairs. I used these movers to help me load a truck for a one-way drive. They arrived on time and began loading. They worked steadily and tied things down along the way. They were courteous and efficient. Booking the movers was simple. There were no travel fees associated with my location, so the cost was just the time the movers spent loading for me. The only thing that I would have liked is if they had sent me an email confirmation of my time slot reservation. There are so many things to remember when you are moving and without a written confirmation I was a little worried something could go wrong. Nothing did, so that's great, but I did call them back several to double check for my own peace of mind. All in all, it was a positive experience. read more

In my experience, there are two types of movers. It is not divided between those who know what they're doing and those who don't, nor is it divided between those who are strong and those who are not. The difference is attitude. Movers can pause what they're doing when you're not looking, or they can keep pushing to get the job done. They can move one box at a time, or load as many as the hand truck can carry. They can "check messages" or they can leave their phones in the cab of the truck. I surely hope all Crosstown Movers' guys are like George and Luke, because their positive attitude and pride in their work made all the difference. I would not recommend them to even move a dog house they damaged several pieces of furniture plus they sent a crew that not how to move a sleep number bed despite being asked ahead of time to make sure the crew knew how to do this. They did get the repairs done on the furniture. read more

Brandon and Daniel were professional, personable, polite to us and very respectful of our belongings. When they discovered that the HEAVIEST piece of furniture that we owned wouldn't fit right upstairs, they moved it back downstairs without complaint. Lesser men would have thought, "she said upstairs, so we'll leave it up there." Instead they pointed out the curved walls and how the piece would block the windows. They were right. There would have been no way my husband and I would have been able to move it after they'd gone. We used Cross Town Movers 23 years ago the last time we moved and they are still just as excellent. Please be aware to never use Crosstown Movers. I have used them for 20 years with great service and excellent moves. I recommended them to my daughter for her move into her new home. That move was the worst move I have ever seen. They did extensive damage to her furniture and is now refusing to fix anything because my daughter is going to give them a bad review. Refusing to fix your damage is just bad business and all this over a bad review. In addition to the damages (which I am sure they did minimal securing of the items) I am sure the 4 TVs won't work either. During this whole move they were lazy and just hung around driving up the costs of the move. I even helped them move things into the truck and our realtor even unloaded furniture when they arrived at her new house. In addition, they took apart the beds and then just put them in the rooms and left them unassembled. I will never use Crosstown Movers ever again and it is a shame as I have used them so many times in the past. read more

The company quoted me an hourly rate along with no travel time costs. When I reviewed the bill, the rate was much higher and there was a travel fee. I paid the bill because moving is hard work and I didn't want to create a conflict with the movers. Additionally, I gave both of the movers a very generous tip....AGAIN - it's hard work! And really...the final bill was within my budget. I just felt that this wasn't right. Later I called the company and reviewed my notes with the manager who politely insisted that the rates (hourly and travel costs) on the bill were correct. What else would he say? I told him that I wasn't asking for a refund and complemented the movers. Julie, the owner took my order and I asked if she would call me back. Julie promptly called me back. She was very nice...what else would you do when you have the upper hand! She also insisted that her hand written notes reflected the pricing on the bill. I informed her again that I wasn't asking for a refund. I was calling because of the inconsistencies between my notes and the final bill. I reminded her of the detailed conversation we had about pricing, and after her quote which consisted of an hourly weekday rate, estimated hours to complete the move (truck with two man crew included),and no travel costs, I choose her company. Additionally, we reviewed several dates before booking the appointment. She recalled all of the conversation with the exception of the pricing scheme reflected in the final bill. LESSON LEARNED - "Again"!: Moving companies are notorious for "switch and bait". Julie would not had needed to take notes if her pricing (hourly rate and travel costs) were standard business practices. Get a quote up-front that includes an hourly rate, estimated hours to complete the job and any ancillary costs. Now, don't be fooled! There are many variables in moving, and seldom does it all pan out where the final bill reflects the estimate. But these companies are pros in the business and should not leave you with mixed emotions - Glad that your stuff is moved and Gouged! read more

Best moving experience ever. I can confidently say, this company knows what it is doing and their movers are stellar at what they do. My family has actually used Cross Town Movers three times, two of which in the past month or so. The first time around we had Dustin and Dakota, who did an awesome job of taking apart my bed (and putting it back together at my new place!) as well as lifting LOTS of heavy objects (think super heavy couch, dresser, etc.). The really amazing part of all of this is that they did not damage anything. Not my furniture, not my old place, not my new place. Everything was left just as they had brought it. Super friendly guys and quality work. It's no wonder we used CTM again to move some of my brothers stuff, where once again, they did a great job. I chose Cross Town Movers because they are a truly local company and they had great rates and a low minimum number of hours. The movers were prompt, friendly, and worked with a sense of urgency. We had our entire house moved in 3.5 hours. The only two points of feedback I have are: tell customers ahead of time that you don't disconnect/reconnect washers and dryers, and tell us where you put all the lightbulbs so we can use our lamps that first night in the new house. read more

They moved a three bedroom apartment-sized load across town and expertly placed and assembled everything in about three hours. They were friendly, fast, and didn't scratch or dink a single item. I had asked Chris to call me if the young men could come early, and they made it about 4 hours before their scheduled time which worked out wonderfully for us. We used Crosstown Movers on Saturday, February 16th to move my mother. While she was only moving a short distance and we had already moved much of the "small stuff", Justin and Eric were AMAZING! They were extra careful with the antique pieces she had. She was moving into a home which had just been painted and had new carpet laid, and they used runners to protect the carpet (no extra charge). They arrived on time, and were both friendly and professional. Pricing was quoted at an hourly rate with reasonable time allowed for their travel. Justin and Eric did not mess around to increase moving time and the cost of the job. This was the second move for my mother in six months, the last move we used another company (AMS), and the cost was twice as much, and service was not good. Items were broken, and when we spoke with the owner, nothing was done. During this move, we realized that the last moving company had also somehow ripped the bottom of the mattress. They wrapped everything and pretty much charged for each little thing they did. Many pieces of furniture was wrapped with plastic wrap (we did not ask for it), and then we were charged for it! Over all the pricing and services were just a cut above the rest. First let me say that Jordan and J.D. were incredibly professional and pleasant. They were prompt and curtious when they arrived and were ready to get down to business. Second, all of our belongings and furniture were very well taken care of and when need be wrapped and secured to prevent damage. After a brief overview of what they were moving they got started. And in less then 2 1/2 hours our belongings were moved without a scratch. They busted a move on our furniture and we couldn't have been more impressed and happy with the services. Horrible customer service! When there was a problem following the move, the customer service rep told me they would make it right and take care of the issue. Two weeks later, I received the rudest treatment from the same customer service person, and he left me without a solution. This is after spending nearly $3,000 with their company for moving me out of my house, storing my stuff for a couple of months and then moving me into my new place. The moving crew was very polite, worked extremely hard, and seemed to be careful. They took apart beds and when the beds were moved into the next house (two months later) the hardware for one of the beds was missing. That has left me without a bed for two weeks now. Initially, I was told the hardware had been ordered from IKEA and it would be in in 10 days and their repair person would come and take care of putting the bed together. It has been a HUGE inconvenience to not have a bed for two weeks. When I called today to find out what was going on, I was treated SO rudely by the customer service manager. I asked that he contact IKEA to figure out where the hardware was, and when I can get the bed put together. He told me that he was totally within his limits of taking 120 days to resolve a claim. Then, he emailed me a bit later to say they would reimburse $60 and the cost of the 3 movers looking for the hardware for 45 minutes. So I am still without hardware to put the bed together, and anybody to do it. I will not use this company again, not becase of the service I received from the moving teams, but because the horrendous lack of customer service, and extremely poor treatment from the person who says he is in charge of customer service and says he has noone he reports to. If you use this company, hope that you do not need any assistance after the move because of damaged or lost goods. read more

I have used Cross Town Movers here in Boise several times over the years (I'm always looking for a "better deal" on apartment rates) and have had a great experience every single time. They are always prompt, efficient, professional and have never damaged/lost/broken any of my personal items. Yesterday I hired them to do a "couch/hide-a-bed" exchange which were too heavy for me to move. Again, an excellent experience. This is the third moving company I have used in 18 months. I just bought a house and called to ask if there was competent movers, that we capable of moving quickly and efficiently. I was assured multiple times that the company is very good and professional. Well, when they arrived they seemed nice enough. They did not look professional in appearance, the clothes or hair. When they first got to the house they started out in a positive manner but by the end they were not happy and it was all over their faces and attitude when my real estate agent and the previous owner was there quite embarrassing actually. They were drenched in sweat and looked like they could pass out, and they were less then unfriendly at the time it came to pay. I mentioned that there was dents in a fridge that was moved, he said they couldn't have done that. So I pulled up photos (because I'm trying to sell the fridge and I took them right before the move) there were no dents before, and he kept denying that they did it. So I just dropped it. They also broke a small table. It cost 500$ to move 3 miles away, and about 6 hours. The price seems right but I've had a better experience with a different company that had younger movers(in better shape) that are in a better mood and just happy to be there to do what you need them to do. read more

I used this company in the past and they were awesome, but this time around, not so much. The young men, were like bulls in a china closet. They ruined the vinyl in the laundry room, scratched up the entry casing, scratched up my refrigerator and washer. They were in such a hurry, it didn't occur to them to remove doors! They took the longest possible route to get to my new abode and then after coming to their senses removed the front door there, but neglected to put it back on. Calling into the company to voice my concerns, was a joke and the owners took several days to get back to me, even after I wrote a letter to them. They did cover most of the damage, but it was a hassle meeting people down at my old house. read more

Very bad packing job. Since I was not there to watch them for 4 hours while they packed it as I was in another state, the movers did a horrible job packing. My couch, bunk bed, ottoman, kitchen table were all damaged/completely broken. My lawn mower was packed up on it's wheels and all the oil leaked out into the trailor floor. I called to let them know, and not one person not even the owner apologized for what happened, I was not even asking for a refund or anything. All they did was blame it on the truck divers "your things shifted". No, my large sectional was thrown on top of a bunch of little stuff and my bunk beds were used to hold up a bunch of heavier things, thus why they are now broken. I suggest a different company for your moving needs. I would give their customer service skills a 0 if I could. read more
