I've generally had ok experiences with movers but a few bad apples give the rest a bad name (ahem, it rhymes with shmironman) . I wish all movers were like Cameron and Eric from Reliance. A few of the many things I appreciated...They were polite, and very professional. If they didn't know where something went, they asked. I know it sounds simple but a lot of movers don't do that. They did not mess around either. They were working at full speed all day. They were also extra careful with wrapping my baby's things so they would stay clean. I had my infant son and my dad was helping me with unpacking and organizing and they frequently asked if either of us needed help. My dad, who had never used movers and thought it was ridiculous that I was hiring people for something we could do ourselves, said "wow!! That was totally worth it!" I will use them for my next move without hesitation and whole-heartedly recommend their services. read more

We hired Reliance Moving to help us move the end of April 2019. They must have overbooked that day, but chose to do our move anyways. We requested 3 guys and they sent 2, neither of which knew what they were doing. They were slow, one of the guys took at least 5 breaks that totaled over an hour. The guy who took all of the breaks complained multiple times that things were "too heavy". The truck was only about 2/3 full when they told me it was a full load. Instead of using dolly's to move stacks of boxes into the truck they carried one at a time regardless of its size or weight. We have moved 7 times in the past ten years and have hired moving companies every time. In our previous move we moved from Boise to Meridian and hired a company that sent 2 guys who moved all our things in one load in under 3 hours. It took the guys from Reliance Moving 2 loads and almost 7 hours to move the fewer items to our new house that was less than a mile away from the old one. They also damaged our wood floors by dragging a piano across them instead of using dolly's. When my wife pointed our the damage the guy blamed her and said she should have "put plastic over the floor". I called and messaged the company about the damage and never received a response. At the end of the move they tried to charge me more than was agreed upon and couldn't provide me with and invoice. It was clear that these guys were not Reliance Moving's "A-team" and I'm guessing they weren't even employees, but guys they hired for the day to help out because they were overbooked. If you're going to portray yourself as a professional moving company you need to employ professional movers and deliver the service that you advertise on your website. read more

My experience with the moving company started good, Cameron showed on time and the quote he gave me was good. As I have move often we usually pack most of our things and leave the big items for the movers, to wrap(couch, refrigerator, washer/dryer)My husband even disassembled our beds and move our furniture down stairs so that all it was to be move was down already. We had only the washer and drier up in the laundry room by the time the movers came. They come on the day of our move and started to move things in the truck, we even feed them pizza for lunch that day. When our furniture arrived to our moving destination I was here on the other end, my husband stayed at our old house since we move up state and he had work there still. As our furniture arrived we helped Cameron and the other guy to unload, Marisa, Cameron partner was here too. Me and the kids helped them unload a few items we again shared our pizza lunch with them. As I directed Cameron on we're to put my antique sewing machine I notice the one leg was complete off. I began to notice refrigerator was scratched and had indentations were the security belt is placed. Eventually all our things got unload and piled up in our kitchen, by know I have already scope our items and notice my washer was indented on the top, and a nob was not attach to the dryer. By the way the washing machine was purchased new in February 2014 and there was no damage before. Our dryers is gas and I do not know if there is damage, other items were damage and by the time It was done I had Told Cameron and Marisa of the damage. Their reply was "Oh!!!" I ask if they had insurance, and Marisa told me it was 250 deduct. Left it at that and told them my husband would keep in contact with them. In life, we all take risks regarding who to trust and who not to trust. In our case, we trusted you and your husband to move our things up to Northern California. This was our decision and we are now living with the consequences of our choice. There were a number of things broken or cosmetically damaged in the move. We will live with a scratched refrigerator; we have repaired the broken leg on a table and have found a solution for the scratch on the mirror. The damaged to the dryer was so bad though that the top and panel need replacing. Your husband will know that this was in good shape when he picked it up and badly damaged upon arrival. This was something that my wife immediately brought to your attention at the time that everything was brought in the house. We did not bring a professional out to look at it because just to bring him or her out is $99 (I.e. service call). This was done out of consideration to you. We assumed that because this was your mistake you would do the right thing and pay for the damage. We are more than glad to bring out a professional to fix this but a conservative estimate for this will be around $325 (inspection, parts and service). We would really like to see your business do well. The course of action that are choosing to take with us though will eventually hurt your business. A company's reputation is its most valued asset. If only I can give a ZERO!!! I wouldn't be able to rate their move because Cameron never showed up! He was apparently having mechanical issues with his truck but didn't bother to let me know until after I called and text him after not showing up on time to our appt. I text him 30 mins before our appt giving him instructions about getting through the gate and parking but got no response. After a few minutes of waiting for him to show up at 8 am I called him but again, no answer. I text him AGAIN asking where he was and it wasn't until then that he responds. This guy doesn't answer my call or call me back. He instead texts back saying the battery is dead and to stop calling him! At this point I am freaking out because I put my trust in this guy to show up on time and he doesn't bother to let me know what is going on until AFTER our appt and AFTER I contact him multiple times. Car troubles I can understand but it was the lack of communication and apology that is INEXCUSABLE. At that time I was so infuriated that yes, i told him I would have everyone I know give him a bad review. But who wouldn't be pissed at someone for not showing up to a job as big as this? Cameron was rude and unapologetic about this whole situation. I was completely shocked and disappointed at how he treated me considering his reviews but that's what happened. Luckily, I was able to find a moving company last minute hat has multiple trucks and communicated with me when they were on their way and even stuck in traffic. I usually try to support small and local companies but DO NOT take your chance with this one. If you want a reliable moving company go with one that have their own trucks and multiple movers. I'll be Updating as the move rolls on... Earlier this week I reached out via Yelp message to Reliance Movers, Cameron was quick to respond (called me within 2 hours of my message being sent) he quoted me a price for what I was looking for and it was all inclusive (truck, blankets, tools, tear down/set up and labor) I felt the price was dead on accurate and fair (if not a bit underpriced) We set a date/time and I paid my $100 security deposit. Cameron made it very easy for me to handle this. The evening before the move date, Cameron text me to confirm the time he will be arriving. The next morning he arrived 15 mins early and introduced himself and his partner and got started right away. We're about 40 mins in to the move and they we are nearly done loading everything. Just a couple TV, Bed, and couch left. The move started at 8am this morning and by 1030am everything was moved in to the new house and set up. Nothing scratched or dented. Cameron and Aaron handled business never once scoffed at the two staircases they had to go up n down and handled everything that was quoted without a hitch. This moving company is legit. The owner, Cameron and his help (Jake) show up to your place to move- he doesn't just send random people to move your stuff. He is there is make sure everything is safe and sound. Cameron was born to move your precious things because he and his partner will wrap and take good care of everything. Even things you might be neutral about taking, he will ensure it's in safe good hands. This guy has a brain for packing and maneuvering your stuff so it fits like a puzzle. We even asked him to go into our dark, spider invested storage and he was so cool about it. Almost....like....he loves what he does for a living.... Is this possible? He is gracious when fed to and humble about getting tipped but is a work horse when moving your belongings. Safe, fun and reliable and a real pleasure to work with. We were actually able to relax and enjoy our moving day. read more

I used Yelp to communicate back and forth with Cameron, the owner, and he always responded quickly and professionally. He and his partner showed up early and quickly went to work. He and his partner were very friendly during the entire move and communicated everything that they were doing. They worked very fast but in a safe and mindful manner. I used Reliance to move across town from the Barkley area to old Fairhaven Parkway about a month and a half ago, and I must say they were top notch! Cameron arrived right on time at 9am on March 15 and got right to work with his partner carrying all my heavy crap out of my apartment while my girlfriend and I did final cleaning and inspection Things. They were polite, professional, always asked how we wanted them to set things up when we were moving things into our destination and above all sought to make things easy for myself and my girlfriend. For the flat rate I paid, I got Cameron, his partner and a moving truck for four hours. They had everything moved well before then. Moving can be an ordeal... especially when you have to move in the middle of the week on a weekday, but Cameron made everything go smoothly. I used this service several times over the course of a few months for my business and everything seemed to be working well. Then I also received a couple of the broken down truck calls and finally no show and no call and no return call. I was using Cameron to move things as part of my business for a very large customer and this lack of reliability or communication almost cost me that client. This occurred several months ago and while I thought about writing this review, I did not as I had moved on. Last week, however, I received several large charges on my credit card from this company and left a message giving them an opportunity to explain it. No return call. Shocking. If you are needing someone to help you move, these are the guys to call. We had a logistical nightmare on our hands in that the company called PODS did not deliver to the town where we were moving. We needed someone to travel to Everett, WA (PODS most northern delivery center) and take the items out of our three containers on separate dates and deliver those belongings to our house in Lynden, WA. I anticipated it to be expensive, a scheduling problem and a trust issue due to past experiences with other companies. Cameron was on top of it. He and Michael made a great team. They handled our belongings with care. They were efficient and very professional. They were on time and worked there tails off until the job was finished. They were easy to get along with and you could tell they not only enjoyed their work but also working with each other. We really struck gold with these guys and couldn't give them a higher recommendation. No broken items, no headaches and reasonably priced. What more could you want? Call them.
