Dr.Alwen is the best - I just heard she opened up her new urgent care . I met her five years ago with my other dog at a VCA hospital and she gave the best quality care but the prices at the hospital were outrageous again I went to the hospital again in Pasadena because my dog was sick and they wanted to charge me $7000 and when I was looking around, I saw that Dr Alwen was working at Vetnow And it turned out that she was the owner and she just started this Animal urgent care five days ago. I highly recommend her and her price was are affordable. anyways, I would've paid but over the amount knowing that Dr. Alwen was seeing my baby. She's a very experienced emergency room physician.

Last month, late on a Wednesday evening, I came home from work and found my normally rambunctious, young, energetic doggy sneezing and bleeding profusely from his nose. I rushed my bleeding, struggling pup to an emergency hospital in Studio City. In my panic and haste, I accidentally came to this facility instead of the hospital I was headed to. One of the vet nurses saw me through the glass, running towards the facility with a bleeding animal in my hands, and swung the door open. Another nurse quickly took him into her arms and took him back. They provided first aid to stop the bleeding and make my Flash comfortable. When the doctor came in to talk to me, we figured out that I went to the wrong place and that my dog's condition required more advanced treatment. The team at the urgent care wrapped my doggy in a towel, covered my car seat since he was still oozing some blood, and carried him back to my car. The doctor, whose name I regretfully cannot recall, called the hospital that was waiting for us to coordinate care. They didn't even charge me, although they were the first responders to provide care to my barely breathing pup, and did everything they could for his dire condition. They showed so much care, compassion, and thoughtfulness. Unfortunately, despite everyone's best efforts, Flash didn't make it. But I am grateful to the entire team at VetNow for everything they've done for my best friend on his last day.

Dr, Alwen and staff we're great with Lilly. I ran into them by accident trying to go to the other vet hospital down the street. I'm glad I am as the other Center quoted me $5000 for something that they only charge me $1300 as a physician myself I appreciate the honesty and how caring and compassionate and bedside manner the doctor had.

I cannot believe how fast they were able to see us and they even gave us a free exam was pretty nice of them and they took care of my baby. I would definitely come back. I want to thank dr Alwen who is the best vet ever

The people working there are the best They make you feel so welcomed while also comforting you while caring for your pet. Dipcone is usually a grouch but he LOVED all the staff. They answered all the questions I had and even gave a goodie bag once we were discharged! Their prices are so reasonable and I honestly couldn't recommend a better team than the staff and doctors at vetnow. Thank you for all that you do

When I got there, vet techs were waiting for me. Some of them took her back, and one took my story on what happened, and her symptoms. I had to call Pet Poison Line so they could tell the vets how to treat her-that's fine-and they wanted to do a full workup on her since she is 12. I said that's fine, that's what insurance is for. It was about 11pm when I was sent home to rest while they took care of her. At about two, they called me to tell me that she survived the nightshade poisoning, but they had found a thicker spot in her intestines in the x-ray, and they wanted to do follow-up images in the morning, so I got another estimate for them to keep her til the next day and run another round of x-rays and do an ultrasound. She stayed and I went back to sleep. In the morning, a very kind vet whose name I don't remember called me and went over what is happening and why that spot could be there. She gave me advice on how to proceed after today. She asked what food my cat eats so they could give it to her there too. I was kept in the loop the whole time from when I got there to when I picked her up at 4:30pm. It set me back about $3500. Thank God for pet insurance. But considering all they did and the overnight stay, not terrible. My cat's idiocy may have saved her bacon if we caught something early, but so did True Care's thoroughness.

Calls are rarely returned, communication is almost nonexistent, and getting something as simple as a prescription refill has turned into a nightmare. My dog depends on his medication to eat properly, yet I was told I now need to pay for another doctor's appointment just because the previous veterinarian left over a year ago -- something they never bothered to properly communicate to pet owners. How is that acceptable? To make matters worse, they don't even have appointments available until mid-July. So what exactly are patients supposed to do in the meantime? Wait until their pets are seriously suffering just to be seen and get medication they already rely on? There seems to be a complete lack of urgency, compassion, and accountability. Pet owners trust clinics with the wellbeing of their animals, and this experience has been beyond frustrating and honestly heartbreaking

They took me in rapidly and the Doctor was very kind and empathetic to my nervous cat. They diagnosed his issue quickly and let me know it wasn't a complete crisis so that helped calm me down. They did a blood and urine draw which went very smoothly given how nervous my cat was, and overall the doctor/nurses walked me through all the steps very honestly and openly with estimates provided at every step which was very appreciated. As a layman I cannot say how much of the tests they did were strictly necessary and what was nice to have, but doctor explained everything very thoroughly so I left feeling like it was pretty reasonable. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because although I arrived around 7 when it was pretty empty, by 8-9PM when my cat was getting his draws and test results, the place became a lot busier and the doctor couldn't attend to me as much, so I ended up not being able to leave until around midnight, including at least one period of over an hour where I was just waiting around. But I can't really blame them that much-- I was in a private room because my cat is skittish so I didn't see, but when I left I saw the place was a total zoo with lots of people, so I think they were just overwhelmed. Overall -- very good service. Bill was a bit high, but they gave me options and walked me through every step with estimates for my confirmation. Only downside was longer wait time as the night progressed.

On December 1, 2025, my pup looked at me, and I knew it was time. Our family had called upon Dr…read more Gonzalez before, so there was no question in my mind who to call again. Unlike our previous experience where we were able to book ahead of time and plan for our pup's passing, this was a circumstance where our baby needed immediate services -- his body was failing. Once I saw our senior 13-yr old pup was telling me it was okay, I called Dr. Gonzalez at 7pm. She was at our home by 10pm. Our pup had been sick for several years, and in that last week, our primary vet had already told us his health was declining, so we at least knew the end was near. And I had already mentally prepared to be strong and let him go when he needed to -- so I had Dr. Gonzalez's number on hand. We live in an apartment building, so we reserved a spot for her in our lot as close as possible to an exit. She came upstairs to our home, and she had brought all her equipment. I had already imagined how I wanted this experience to go for my once in a lifetime soul pup. I sat on his favorite place on the sofa, and I had him in my lap. Dr. Gonzalez gave me a pee pad to wrap around him within the blanket understanding there could be an accident in the process as his body released his spirit. I had a candle lit. I had soft music playing. We had low lighting on to honor what was about to happen. Dr. Gonzalez was also super accommodating to our 2nd puppy who was curious about her and wondering what was happening to his big brother. She didn't shoo him away -- she invited us to keep the puppy around so he can know his big brother was about to pass on. She gave us time to speak to Nuxx, love on him, and then let him go. Then, it finally happened. And Dr. Gonzalez stepped out of our apartment for awhile, giving our little family time to grieve, sob, and hold our baby close. Our puppy sniffed him too and said his goodbyes. Then she came back, and she asked us if we wanted to be the ones to carry him out or she was happy to do so. My husband carried him, myself and our puppy followed along -- felt like a procession down our apartment hallway. We got to Dr. Gonzalez's car, and we gently placed our baby's body in her car, and said our goodbyes again. Then...it was done. Throughout the experience, Dr. Gonzalez was so incredibly supportive, gentle, understanding, and patient. What else can you ask for when such a heartbreaking thing is occurring? When a spirit is literally fading in your arms? I am still not over losing him, but at least I know we gave him the most peaceful send-off we could: in his own home, in our arms, surrounded by so much love. If / when we need to go through again, I will continue to call on Dr. Gonzalez. RIP Nuxx.

We had to leave our sweet Winston while they did more tests (ultrasound, possible tissue biopsy) and we returned a few hours later. She gave us the devastating news that there were significantly abnormal findings all over his lung, stomach and pelvic bones. It appeared to be cancer. Pricing seemed to be on par with emergency vets in Los Angeles. Ultimately, we decided to take Winston home so he could peacefully go over the rainbow bridge with all of us at his side. I was worried that she might have a luxating patella (dislocated kneecap). Although it wasn't a life-threatening emergency, it was the weekend, so we had no choice but to visit the ER. However, everything changed after we met Dr. Ino. Dr. Ino was incredibly kind, patient, and compassionate. He performed a thorough examination of Nami and took the time to listen carefully to everything I had observed and was concerned about. By the time she was examined, Nami had stopped limping and was acting like her normal, energetic self again. Dr. Ino felt that she looked okay and recommended close observation instead of unnecessary treatment. What impressed me most was not only his medical knowledge but also the way he treated both my dog and me. They prescribed a medication that wasn't even available until Monday. I was honestly willing to let that pass because I understand things happen, but the rude attitude from the receptionist was too much. It was our first time within the ACCESS network so we did not know that the Cardiology Department was separate from Internal Medicine and the Emergency Department. We didn't know that there were so many varying departments. It didn't set in that this was a specialty clinic not a traditional veterinarian office (even though "specialty animal hospital" is literally in their name...haha). The Cardiology Department was on the second floor in a building shared with other companies. The office was clean and peaceful. The women at the front desk were kind and patient. They answered our questions and were helpful. We were seen quickly in the consultation room and I love that the nurse drew a cute little picture with cat ears and whiskers, and put our cat's name on the white dry erase board that was outside of the consultation room. She listened intently to our concerns as it had already been confirmed that the referring veterinarian had provided our cat's health records. We fully expected to wait a while for the doctor since we were about forty minutes early but about five minutes later Dr. Cole greeted us warmly with a team of onlookers (supporting doctors, maybe interns too not exactly sure).
