    Core values of this business

One hopes they never need to visit an Emergency Vet, but if you have to, I highly recommend VEG or Vetrinary emergency group. The staff were friendly and super empathetic. They fully explained the process for evaluating our Frenchie Lady. One thing that set them above is not separating us. Our Lady doesn't do well away from us and they made sure she was comfortable and safe. Dr. Malik Chennault and staff were thorough compassionate and exactly what we needed today. It's likely a long rode ahead for us, but we are so grateful to receive care and bring lady home a little more comfortable and with a diagnosis. Thank you VEG groups and staff keep providing amazing emergency care! David & David Moose and Lady. Also, considering the work up required I found the pricing reasonable.

The triage ER that was so busy but there were only a handful of animals and at least 20 Dr's with their Starbucks. Waste of time

Waited 4 hours! Clearly you can see it was a huge waste of time. Very unprofessional and unorganized. Especially the young Dr Brooke Migdal. Looked like a dear in headlights trying to be busy.

I'm still a happy dog even when I'm injured!

Our 2-year-old Lab started limping after a rough playdate, and our vet recommended VEG for immediate care. Even though the ER was packed, we were seen within 30 minutes -- a huge relief. Dr. Centola was kind and gentle with our dog. Based on his physical exam of the hip and leg, he suspected a possible CCL tear. He provided pain relief, explained the options clearly, and referred us to an orthopedic surgeon if needed. He took the time to answer all my questions and lay out a treatment plan. If you have a large dog dealing with an injury, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Centola and his team. They truly care and take the time to explain everything.

I'm grateful VEG operates 24/7--it's reassuring to know help is available for pets at any hour. Parking was free and convenient, and the hospital is in a nice area. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. However, I'm unsure about the quality of care. Our dog was scratching excessively, and I suggested it might be an allergic reaction. The initial visit cost $225, and they recommended shaving the area ($136) and giving an injection to stop the itching ($230). I questioned the injection because I didn't want to just mask symptoms. Shortly after we declined, our dog developed bumps and hives, confirming an allergic reaction, which was then treated appropriately. While I appreciate the availability and kindness, I wish the diagnosis had been clearer from the start and that treatment options were explained more thoroughly. Only after I asked questions about the services recommended, we found out what each of the treatments were and most of them were not needed at all, not in the diagnosis stage or on the treatment after.

I wouldn't give this place even 1 star if I didn't have to in order to continue with my review. I am 75 years old, in those 75 years I have had the pleasure of owning MANY dogs. Never have I experienced a day like this one with any of my animals. My mobile groomer that I have used for over 10 years was that my rental condo ( our house. In Pacific Palisades had burned down, so I wasn't near my usual veterinarian) She was trimming the hair around the mouth of my 14 pound Yorkie Shih Tzu mix, and nipped the inside of her mouth. It was a small cut, but as cuts in the mouth will do it was bleeding a lot. I had remembered saying different veterinarians on Wilshire Boulevard near our rental condo so I asked our groomer to drive me up Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica California. On the corner, I saw a large red building with the letters VEG EMERGENCY HOSPITAL. By that time, Lily's mouth had stopped bleeding, as we went in the building she got scared. Her heart started beating, and her mouth began to bleed again. The receptionist showed us to the back to a room of the enormous space it occupies. A woman came in, who was not a veterinarian and asked me if I wanted bloodwork. I didn't realize that was something that would be needed for a cut in the mouth was not sure why she was suggesting it, but I assumed it was something that was needed so I said OK we were kept in that room without seeing the doctor we eventually saw for almost 5 hours. I was sick with a cold and could hardly sit up holding Lily. My groomer and I took turns holding her after being kept in that room for all of that time. We were finally taken out to the middle of the room where there was a metal table where a woman put Lily on it. She panicked, her heart beating so hard made her mouth start bleeding again. A doctor came over, began to give her oxygen or something, and then changed his mind. Look to see if it needed stitches and saw it did not. We went up to the desk, I handed her my credit card and we left. Later to see that I had been charged the exorbitant amount of $939.21. She was prescribed three prescriptions. The total over $200 that she never even needed. I called the vet several times asking to speak to the manager, Lauren Linville, but she was always either in a meeting not there or busy. It took me weeks to finally see her, I had to go in there and sit and wait for 45 minutes while she was " in a meeting" once again. I explained the situation to her. I even brought the prescriptions back to return to get a refund ( which I did not get ) and show her Lily never even needed any medication. They should have seen what the injury was kept an eye on her while we were there with her and we should've been out of there in 45 minutes tops and the charge should've been $230 for the Emergency visit. She said she would get back to me in four days, as she was going out of town. I spoke with her this morning. She said she had gone over the bill and was not going to deduct any charges. I'm planning on reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau. I would avoid this place like the plague. Lilly was so terrified from the experience that she hid under the bed for three days only to come out to eat a little and relieve herself. I just spoke to Laura Linville. She said she had gone over videos and the bill and was not going to deduct one cent. This is outrageous.

I want to thank the amazing people at veg for turning one of the most stressful experiences into something comforting and reassuring. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the difference. The facility itself is stunning--bright, clean, and designed with an open floor plan that immediately puts you at ease. There's no sense of being shut off or left in the dark; instead, you're part of the process every step of the way. You can actually see what's happening, which builds so much trust right off the bat. What really blew me away was the team. The doctors and staff are incredibly kind, compassionate, and truly passionate about what they do. They took the time to explain every single step--what they were going to do, why they were doing it, and what I could expect next. And the best part? They do it all right in front of you. There's no whisking your pet away behind closed doors or leaving you wondering what's going on. It's transparent, honest, and so calming. I've never been to a vet before where I actually left feeling better than when I walked in. Usually, these visits are filled with anxiety and uncertainty, but not here. The staff made me feel like everything was going to be okay, and that kind of peace of mind is priceless when your pet is in distress. If you're ever in need of emergency vet services--or honestly, any veterinary care--look no further than veg. I can't thank them enough for the care they gave to both me and my pet. This is the kind of place that makes all the difference.

Best vet related experience ever. From the moment we stepped in till we left, we felt taken care of and supported. The entire staff is incredibly caring and kind. Our little dog felt comfortable and was helped immediately. We loved that we could be with her the whole time. Beautiful, clean space with a wonderful diverse team! Keep it up, VEG! We will recommend this place left and right.

I was worried that she might have a luxating patella (dislocated kneecap). Although it wasn't a life-threatening emergency, it was the weekend, so we had no choice but to visit the ER. The wait was much longer than I expected--we waited about three hours. At one point, I was thinking that I probably wouldn't come back here again because of the long wait. However, everything changed after we met Dr. Ino. Dr. Ino was incredibly kind, patient, and compassionate. He performed a thorough examination of Nami and took the time to listen carefully to everything I had observed and was concerned about. By the time she was examined, Nami had stopped limping and was acting like her normal, energetic self again. Dr. Ino felt that she looked okay and recommended close observation instead of unnecessary treatment. What impressed me most was not only his medical knowledge but also the way he treated both my dog and me. He listened carefully, addressed all of my concerns, and provided thoughtful advice without making me feel rushed. His professionalism, responsibility, and genuine kindness gave me so much reassurance. I left feeling extremely satisfied with the care we received. Of course, I hope we never have another emergency, but if we ever do, I would absolutely return here and specifically ask for Dr. Ino to care for Nami again. Thank you, Dr. Ino, for taking such wonderful care of our girl.

I had to call Pet Poison Line so they could tell the vets how to treat her-that's fine-and they wanted to do a full workup on her since she is 12. I said that's fine, that's what insurance is for. It was about 11pm when I was sent home to rest while they took care of her. At about two, they called me to tell me that she survived the nightshade poisoning, but they had found a thicker spot in her intestines in the x-ray, and they wanted to do follow-up images in the morning, so I got another estimate for them to keep her til the next day and run another round of x-rays and do an ultrasound. She stayed and I went back to sleep. In the morning, a very kind vet whose name I don't remember called me and went over what is happening and why that spot could be there. She gave me advice on how to proceed after today. She asked what food my cat eats so they could give it to her there too. I brought my dog here because I needed an emergency ultrasound after finding a large mass on his spleen earlier that morning. They were kind enough to fit us in for a last-minute ultrasound (for a $255 emergency appointment fee). The ultrasound confirmed that the mass had already ruptured. I asked if they could operate that same night. I was told it would cost at least another $4,000 to do it that night. Instead, they scheduled a pre-operative consultation for the following day (another $255), and surgery would have taken place the day after that even tho they knew my dog was already bleeding internally (they gave me anti hemorrhage herb supplements for $67) Right after he was discharged, he started urinating dark brown. I immediately came back to let them know. Their response was essentially, "We'll stick to the game plan. We'll see you tomorrow for the first consultation. Fortunately, my first vet choice, called me back early Monday morning and after I explained the situation. Their response was: "We need to operate immediately." They came to my house to pick up my dog at no charge, performed another ultrasound at no charge, and took him straight into surgery without asking for a single dollar upfront. The surgery was successful. Afterward, the surgeon told me that if we had waited one more day, my dog likely would not have survived. I'm not writing this to hurt this establishment. The staff was very friendly, as you would expect when you're paying nearly $1,000 for an emergency visit and ultrasound. I'm writing this to help anyone who may find themselves in the same situation. If your pet has a life-threatening emergency, trust your instincts and act fast. For me, choosing Sevilla Veterinary Hospital saved my dog's life.

They kept my dog for 5 hours, and after everything, I still had to bring her to a different hospital so she could get proper care. There was also a problem with my dog's prescription. They prescribed a medication that wasn't even available until Monday. I was honestly willing to let that pass because I understand things happen, but the rude attitude from the receptionist was too much. I understand vet hospitals can get busy, but clients who are worried about their pets deserve compassion, professionalism, and proper communication -- especially after spending that much money. Very disappointed with both the service and the overall experience.

I'm grateful beyond measure for all their efforts, and as we all well know... It Takes a Village. I'd like to thank some of the heroes in this one. Thanks to: Rashit, Fritz, Orion, Louisa, Dolores, Lily, Gary, the pharmacy and especially to the amazing and talented Dr. Cha. I hope I'm not forgetting anyone, because everyone there is part of the dream team. My story is also a successful one, so I won't go into great detail. I've only shared here about the quality of my experience. I encourage you to read for yourself, and to build your own with them. I believe that you'll come to the same conclusion that all of us have. I couldn't be happier to have them along on my pet's journey back to health. Thank you We are truly one of your biggest fans. Sophie and family

We have been to LBAE a number of times for our Golden Retriever Byron…read more The latest incident required surgery for an obstruction. As always, Byron received great care and has recovered. Dr Ravi did the surgery and we appreciated the follow-up. Dr Lee and Dr Kerr also provided great support. Because Byron has IBD his symptoms could have been dismissed as part of his condition. We were lucky that when Dr Lee suggested an xray, we took her advice. Everyone at Long Beach Animal Emergency was amazing.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel it's important to share my experience…read more While the veterinarian appeared knowledgeable and competent, the overall experience was disappointing because of the lack of compassion, communication, and customer service. From the moment I arrived, my dog was taken to the back without anyone asking me to explain what was wrong or allowing me to be part of the initial assessment. My dog remained in the back for about an hour and a half before anyone spoke with me. I was eventually brought into an exam room--without my dog-and presented with a treatment plan and an estimate. As a pet owner, I expected to be involved much sooner and to have someone take the time to listen before making recommendations. I spent nearly five hours at the clinic, yet very little of that time involved communication or updates. Most of it was simply waiting, wondering what was happening with my dog. The payment policy was equally frustrating. You're given a low-end and high-end estimate, but you're required to pay the highest amount up front before any treatment is provided. When the original services aren't all used, it feels like other charges are added to bring the total closer to what you've already paid. Whether that's the intent or not, it leaves the impression that the estimate is structured to ensure customers pay the highest amount possible. The one bright spot was one veterinary technician who was kind, gentle, and genuinely caring with the animals. She showed the empathy and compassion that I wish had been reflected throughout the entire clinic. I also noticed that many negative reviews receive the same generic response asking customers to call the office. Respectfully, this experience wasn't the result of a simple misunderstanding-it reflected the overall way the clinic operates. I won't be returning unless I have absolutely no other choice. Veterinary care should combine medical expertise with compassion, communication, and respect for both pets and their owners. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

What in the actual BEEEEEP is wrong with this place? We were on vacay for 2 weeks and left my dog…read moreChase with a sitter. When we came back, he was vomiting and having diarrhea for 2 days so I took him to my regular vet and she told me to take him to the ER immediately bc he was severely dehydrated. I arrived here asap to admit my dog and see what's wrong. For the total price of $6251.15, we had 2 overnight stays with a diagnosis of Gastroenteritis and urinary bladder stones with elevated kidney lab values. The drs made it sound like Chase was going to die if he didn't get surgery within the next few seconds. She made it sound extremely urgent. Mind you, he never had any issues peeing prior to this so it was big news to me. She said he has a partial urinary blockage due to the bladder stones in his urethra but he was still peeing. The drs recommendations were to keep him to monitor him overnight and push for urinary catheter and surgery. I didn't agree to urinary catheter or surgery bc I didn't want to do anything invasive to him. They ended up doing the urinary catheter to try and push the stones back in however, they were unsuccessful and couldn't even put the catheter in bc they didn't have a needle small enough so it didn't fit thru his penile bone? So basically they tried and failed but I was still charged for it. Then they continued to push for surgery. Meanwhile all they did was give him anti-nausea meds and IV the whole time he was in there. I was all over the place like okay what should I do? He's my baby and I want the absolute best for him. I decided to finally just take him out the hospital and let him rest at home while finding another location for a second opinion. When I picked him up, poor baby peed like a racehorse for abt 2 mins straight. I have never in my life seen him pee this much and he is 6 years old! They must've kept him in there and not release him for potty breaks/walks the whole time. Vets and hospitals are expensive but this was unbelievable. A money hungry spot and way overpriced. I can't believe they charged 6k for nothing but meds to go home with. Never again.

The front desk was incredibly welcoming & it was an easy check in. We were put in a room within 10 minutes & the vet tech came in for the initial eval. She was thorough, careful of my sensitive not & listened carefully to our concerns. She let us know the vet would be in momentarily and not even 5 minutes later he came in. He listened to all of my concerns and explained how dogs experience shock with their GI tract so it was good I brought him in once he started vomitting. He recommended labs, x-rays, an anti nausea medication and steroids. I opted for the medications but not labs or X-rays. There was NO pressure at all to include them, but rather just an option given. My boy got his injection & we were out of there in probably 45 minutes tops. Our discharge instructions included his at home Benadryl dosage and schedule, as well as an explanation of severe allergic reactions in dogs. We will definitely be back for our urgent care needs!
