The thorn found in my dogs paw
    Victoria M.

I had the best experience. I went in at 9pm on a Thursday with my baby dog who is 14 with a possible bee sting and limping. They took her in right away and within 20 minutes we were out the door. The people in the front were so kind and welcoming and made us feel like we were in great hands. The vet techs were so sweet too and since it was just a thorn they took out right away, they didn't charge us for an exam! Thank you to all the staff for making my dog feel better and giving us a peace of mind in your care! Here is a picture of the thorn the vet took out right away. Thank you again!!!

Although I had a heartbreaking experience of not leaving the hospital with my girl, I wanted to share gratitude towards the team and a big shoutout to Dr. Louderback who handled the end of life stage so well. She also sent a card home with sincere regards. While the wait to initially get her seen did take hours, I'd like people to understand the circumstances the staff faces as well and remind everyone to be patient. They truly did their job and beyond. I thankfully have pet insurance so a portion of my bill was reimbursed, but because it was an emergency and she stayed a little over 24 hours, the costs were higher than I'm used to but worth it for my sweet angel. It was also reasonable and they discuss treatment plans to see if there are options to cut the cost. Thank you for continuing to do your best as a team to help these babies! It's greatly appreciated.

THE MOST PRECIOUS UPDATES FROM STAFF

My pet has been hospitalized multiple times and has been under the care of Dr. Maya Lottati for years since being diagnosed with IMHA. I truly can't put into words how incredibly grateful I am for this facility. This team has saved my pup's life at least five times over the past couple of years. Every single staff member is exceptional at what they do. From Dr. Beymar to Dr. Nordeldt, to all of the dedicated DAs, everyone here is compassionate, skilled, and genuinely cares. If you're debating where to take your pet, don't overthink it, bring them straight to TrueCare. I've had nothing but amazing experiences here, and my dog actually loves coming in, like he's going to the park. That alone says everything about how well they treat him!!!! Archuk 100% approved of TrueCare!!!

Is this a 24/7 emergency vet? If I needed to bring my dog at (let's say) 3am, would they be open to help? My current emergency vet is no longer open after 8pm so I am looking for a different place.

Yes, they are 24/7 and they are AMAZING! So kind, compassionate, and helpful. The facility itself is also the nicest emergency vet or regular vet office I've ever been to. I highly recommend!

    Do you take exotic pets?

I'm not sure but Studio City Animal Hospital does.

Is a referral required if I bring my 10-year-old (neautured) male indoor cat? I believe he has a parasitic infestation.

I don't think it does, but they are very nice and professional, and I'm sure they will take good care of your pet!!!

Do you have a Dermatologist on staff?

No. There is no dermatologist at TrueCare. There is an internal medicine department, surgery department and radiation oncologist in addition to the ER service.

Need hospital/ emergency services for my puppy when his vet his unavailable. We just had a scare & upon calling every animal hospital insight we were barely able to find one. Would this be a good fit for a puppy who is crazy and accident-prone?

I would like to recommend Holly Park vet for attentive care, you can google the name it is on El Segundo Blvd it is a no frill location although the vet is honest and cares for your animal. If you are in the Burbank area The best vet is Berkley…

Any top Internal medicine vets at this location ? Our aging pup needs a thorough kidney check up. Thank you in advance!

Whatever you do, don't take your aging pup there. Mine died due to their neglect. Go somewhere in Culver City or Koreatown, not as convenient but it'll save you a lot of heartache and prevent your beloved pup from possibly being abandoned mid…

Hello do you take care of severe skin problems?

We don't have a dermatologist. The internal medicine department can handle skin conditions that may be cause due to hormonal imbalances, but there is no dermatologist on staff. The ER department can see a pet if they are having an emergent condition…

What's the cost for puppy vaccines?

You have to call them. I do not work f0r them.

Hi, do you have specialists to figure out if my one year old puppy has a hip issue?

Hello Diane, yes we do! Please call us to schedule a time to speak to one of our specialists. (818)760-3882

    Do you do echocardiograms?

Hi! I’m sorry at this time we do not have a cardiologist on staff. I would try ACCESS in Woodland Hills or VCA West LA.

Do you allow owners to be present when euthanizing pets?

Hi. Yes, most of the time we try to accommodate 2 owners to be present. Please call the hospital at 818-760-3882 and they can help explain the process. I’m sorry you are having to navigate this.

Do you guys do cat spaying?

How much is an ultrasound to confirm pregnancy on a dog?

Hello Victor, thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately we treat birds at this facility, sorry, I wish we could help.

My puppy is constipated and is crying would you see him right now or would have to wait till the morning?

Hi, thank you for reaching out. Yes we would see him now, we are open 24/7 so see patients anytime. Due to COVID-19, wait times are a little longer than usual and our staff will meet you in the parking lot to drop off your pup curbside for…

Can i bring my red eared slider turtles? i'd noticed that there's tiny white worms in their poop and a few swimming around the tank. i'm not sure if it's something normal but i'd like to bring them for a check up

Worth noting: Expect big urgent care invoices and be prepared to ask questions, line by line, to make sure you understand the costs and necessary treatment. I received a BIG OLE $$$ bill in the thousands and had to review each item, and upon doing that with the (very patient) Vet, they decreased the amount over 50% for the unnecessary treatments. I think every pet parent can agree that the most important thing for our fluffy little ones is proper care and love from the professionals treating them. This is why I'm rating this place a 5 star. They were all terrific people and took wonderful care of my dog (and me!) during a high stress day. P.S. They also offer coffee and snacks and that was a lifesaver after being there for 3.5 hours.

They took me in rapidly and the Doctor was very kind and empathetic to my nervous cat. They diagnosed his issue quickly and let me know it wasn't a complete crisis so that helped calm me down. They did a blood and urine draw which went very smoothly given how nervous my cat was, and overall the doctor/nurses walked me through all the steps very honestly and openly with estimates provided at every step which was very appreciated. As a layman I cannot say how much of the tests they did were strictly necessary and what was nice to have, but doctor explained everything very thoroughly so I left feeling like it was pretty reasonable. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because although I arrived around 7 when it was pretty empty, by 8-9PM when my cat was getting his draws and test results, the place became a lot busier and the doctor couldn't attend to me as much, so I ended up not being able to leave until around midnight, including at least one period of over an hour where I was just waiting around. But I can't really blame them that much-- I was in a private room because my cat is skittish so I didn't see, but when I left I saw the place was a total zoo with lots of people, so I think they were just overwhelmed. Overall -- very good service. Bill was a bit high, but they gave me options and walked me through every step with estimates for my confirmation. Only downside was longer wait time as the night progressed.

The last thing you want when your fur baby is suffering is to reach voicemail after voicemail. Hearing a compassionate human voice on the other end of the phone brought me so much comfort. She came to my home first thing the next morning. I was worried about my younger Golden Retriever jumping on her or interfering with her care, but she was absolutely wonderful with both of my dogs. She encouraged him to stay in the room with us once he was comfortable with her, and I truly believe that helped him understand what was happening. She was incredibly professional, but I'll never forget one small moment. Out of the corner of my eye, while I was saying my final words and paying my last tributes to my girl, I saw her quietly wiping tears from her eyes. As a healthcare provider myself, I know how often we're expected to wear a mask and stay composed. Seeing that genuine emotion didn't make her seem less professional, it reassured me that she truly cared. In those final moments, your mind races. You question whether you're making the right decision. Seeing her emotion gave me peace because I knew she wasn't simply going through the motions. I knew that if she believed my girl wasn't ready, she would have told me. Most of us are fortunate enough to experience this kind of heartbreak only a few times in our lives. She carries families through it over and over again. That takes an incredible amount of compassion. Thank you for your kindness, your empathy, and for helping my sweet Lilo leave this world peacefully and with dignity. Please take care of yourself, too. The first photo is the day Oliver met Lilo as a puppy, their first photo together. The second was taken just before the veterinarian arrived to help Lilo pass. This is not my first review of our beloved Dr G, and I just recommended her to 6 more people again just these past 2 weeks. I always say to people I give her card to: "you will discover she is an Earth Angel - if she moved to a different town, I'd take my pup there... When you find a great vet, they are Gold! She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years, and has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I trusted Dr G and her small compassionate team with the euthanasia of my precious second dog, Handsome. She is truly an Angel on Earth. At her Chatsworth location, I love that she's created a lovingly cozy "home environment" for the euthanasia experience. That it so needed during that deeply emotional time, and more veterinary offices ought to follow her example. I found her many years ago when I was dissatisfied with a busy veterinary front desk in Sherman Oaks, after they had made errors in my first dog's chart. Unfortunately he passed, and I learned that finding the RIGHT professional truly makes ALL the difference. So yes, I drive from Sherman Oaks. Gratefully so :) I am thankful that my cherished pups are her patients. Her ethics, her care, her kindness, her knowledge, her integrity - she's our number 1!!!

I brought my dog here because I needed an emergency ultrasound after finding a large mass on his spleen earlier that morning. They were kind enough to fit us in for a last-minute ultrasound (for a $255 emergency appointment fee). The ultrasound confirmed that the mass had already ruptured. I asked if they could operate that same night. I was told it would cost at least another $4,000 to do it that night. Instead, they scheduled a pre-operative consultation for the following day (another $255), and surgery would have taken place the day after that even tho they knew my dog was already bleeding internally (they gave me anti hemorrhage herb supplements for $67) Right after he was discharged, he started urinating dark brown. I immediately came back to let them know. Their response was essentially, "We'll stick to the game plan. We'll see you tomorrow for the first consultation. Fortunately, my first vet choice, called me back early Monday morning and after I explained the situation. Their response was: "We need to operate immediately." They came to my house to pick up my dog at no charge, performed another ultrasound at no charge, and took him straight into surgery without asking for a single dollar upfront. The surgery was successful. Afterward, the surgeon told me that if we had waited one more day, my dog likely would not have survived. I'm not writing this to hurt this establishment. The staff was very friendly, as you would expect when you're paying nearly $1,000 for an emergency visit and ultrasound. I'm writing this to help anyone who may find themselves in the same situation. If your pet has a life-threatening emergency, trust your instincts and act fast. For me, choosing Sevilla Veterinary Hospital saved my dog's life.

They kept my dog for 5 hours, and after everything, I still had to bring her to a different hospital so she could get proper care. There was also a problem with my dog's prescription. They prescribed a medication that wasn't even available until Monday. I was honestly willing to let that pass because I understand things happen, but the rude attitude from the receptionist was too much. I understand vet hospitals can get busy, but clients who are worried about their pets deserve compassion, professionalism, and proper communication -- especially after spending that much money. It was our first time within the ACCESS network so we did not know that the Cardiology Department was separate from Internal Medicine and the Emergency Department. We didn't know that there were so many varying departments. It didn't set in that this was a specialty clinic not a traditional veterinarian office (even though "specialty animal hospital" is literally in their name...haha). The Cardiology Department was on the second floor in a building shared with other companies. The office was clean and peaceful. The women at the front desk were kind and patient. They answered our questions and were helpful. We were seen quickly in the consultation room and I love that the nurse drew a cute little picture with cat ears and whiskers, and put our cat's name on the white dry erase board that was outside of the consultation room. She listened intently to our concerns as it had already been confirmed that the referring veterinarian had provided our cat's health records. We fully expected to wait a while for the doctor since we were about forty minutes early but about five minutes later Dr. Cole greeted us warmly with a team of onlookers (supporting doctors, maybe interns too not exactly sure). Dr. Cole was patient and explained the process for examining our cat's heart health. He answered our questions and took our fur baby for the testing. Around twenty minutes later he and his team returned with the results. He explained the prescription medicine that would be beneficial for our cat and gave further medical advice for our cat. I really appreciated the transparency and clarity around the results. I felt relieved to have such a warm, competent and friendly doctor handling the care for our fur baby. It wasn't cheap but it was worth it. Grateful to Dr. Steven Cole and ACCESS Pasadena!

When we came back, he was vomiting and having diarrhea for 2 days so I took him to my regular vet and she told me to take him to the ER immediately bc he was severely dehydrated. I arrived here asap to admit my dog and see what's wrong. For the total price of $6251.15, we had 2 overnight stays with a diagnosis of Gastroenteritis and urinary bladder stones with elevated kidney lab values. The drs made it sound like Chase was going to die if he didn't get surgery within the next few seconds. She made it sound extremely urgent. Mind you, he never had any issues peeing prior to this so it was big news to me. She said he has a partial urinary blockage due to the bladder stones in his urethra but he was still peeing. The drs recommendations were to keep him to monitor him overnight and push for urinary catheter and surgery. I didn't agree to urinary catheter or surgery bc I didn't want to do anything invasive to him. They ended up doing the urinary catheter to try and push the stones back in however, they were unsuccessful and couldn't even put the catheter in bc they didn't have a needle small enough so it didn't fit thru his penile bone? So basically they tried and failed but I was still charged for it. Then they continued to push for surgery. Meanwhile all they did was give him anti-nausea meds and IV the whole time he was in there. I was all over the place like okay what should I do? He's my baby and I want the absolute best for him. I decided to finally just take him out the hospital and let him rest at home while finding another location for a second opinion. When I picked him up, poor baby peed like a racehorse for abt 2 mins straight. I have never in my life seen him pee this much and he is 6 years old! They must've kept him in there and not release him for potty breaks/walks the whole time. Vets and hospitals are expensive but this was unbelievable. A money hungry spot and way overpriced. I can't believe they charged 6k for nothing but meds to go home with. Never again.
