We utilized Journey's Home to come to our home in Baraboo. The vet who came was kind, gentle and made sure to explain the process and what to expect. We felt supported that we were making the best decision given our cat's decline in quality of life and had done everything that could be done for her comfort. He gave us plenty of time and space to say good-bye, and prepared a clay paw print for us to keep in her remembrance. I appreciate so much the compassion that was shown and the dignity with which our cat was treated. I absolutely would use their services again when we reach end of life for our remaining pet.

From the first phone contact with a very kind receptionist to the very end, we experienced nothing but compassion and empathy. Dr. Megan came to our home, greeted deaf and blind Max, and kindly explained the procedure. She even encouraged our other dog to be there. The entire process was calm and quiet, as I held him in my lap, on his chair and on his blanket. Everything about Dr. Megan was respectful and empathetic. She made a paw print of Max and asked if we would like some little bits of his hair to share with our kids. She even knew that we needed a hug! About a week after, we received a lovely sympathy care from Dr. Megan. How I wish I would have had this option with my previous two dogs!

However, I will say that the new Self-Serve Dog Wash isn't practical at all. I was excited to use the new wash area and was left disappointed. A few things to note: - There's no grip for the dog in the bath. My dog was slipping around the whole time and digging his claws into the tile/plaster tub. I wish they put some sort of rubber mat down. - The baths don't have that half wall like a traditional tub. It's more like a counter to put your dog on. It looks really nice and it's easy to get the dogs in but I was left soaking wet since the water was just splashing back at me. Even with the apron on. - The hooks with the slip leads are just too close to the corners of the walls. It left my dog standing and sitting in awkward positions. Maybe they should add a hook towards the middle so there's more options. I used to come all the time to bathe my dog but now I just can't see myself using the new washing area again :/ I will definitely continue to shop their selection of food, treats, and toys though!

While Kayla did a great job on my dog's nails, I disagree with this new policy and will probably get nail trims elsewhere.

We requested to delay class 2, our pup was not ready and thought it best for him and the rest of class. Requested to reschedule for a later class and was told it would be at full price. No credit for any of the money to apply to future classes. Expensive and disappointing. They ask for flexibility to meet their needs, but not flexible in return. Spoke with them about this. No change. Please make sure you can live with this when considering your needs. If your pup is ill, behind, or life interupts, it will be at your expense, literally.

Dog's Best Friend Training is a life saver! It was about 10 or 11 years ago that I brought one of…read moremy Jack Russell Terriers, Karrera, to Dog's Best Friend Training. Specifically, to the Reliable Recall Class. This is because, Karrera, would completely blow you off when you called her to come. I can not tell you how many times she ran across the farmer's field whether it was corn or soybeans. This was after excavating her way out of the fenced in yard. I finally said to my other half. We need HELP! I contacted Dog's Best Friend and worked with Chelse in the Reliable Recall Class 1. Karrera did well with this class however, we felt that we should enroll her in the class, again, so we did. She was successful after the second time around and then, the Reliable Recall Class 2 came along. So, we enrolled her in that class. She did well. Fast forward several years later. I took Karrera hunting in our backyard in the month of August so, the corn was tall. She got to the point in hunting that she got frustrated and took off into the corn field. I thought to myself, I am never going to see her again! And at that moment I remembered to whistle 3 times. Well, guess who showed up at the front door? YES! KARRERA! Now fast forward, again, Karrera is going to be 13 years old on November 1, 2025. I took her hunting in Indiana. I had on me a treat pouch with cooked Lamb (this is something that our dogs only get when we are at shows or hunting). I called her, she came, I treated! She got to her first sett (hole in the ground) and I took her off her leash. When I wanted her to come to me, I would whistle 3 times, she came, I treated. She was off leash running smelling and being a dog. Yes, I was still nervous about her being off leash but, this Reliable Recall Class is worth it's weight in Gold! If there is any class that I would recommend to any one it will be this one! Thank you, Dog's Best Friend and Chelse for helping me and Karrera. With that said, I am also a breeder of Jack Russell Terriers and I start doing a whistle recall as soon as when the puppies are 3-4 weeks old. This way they go home with a basic recall at 10 weeks. People are really impressed when they come pick up their puppy and they are already coming to them on a basic whistle.
