When I saw that Milo had opened next to my house I tought it was the perfect place to take my kitten. Looks modern, nice and the first experiences were great. Then my cat had an emmergency. His voice was scratchy, almost like he had a cold and he was having a hard time breathing. I called Milo and they couldn't take him in that week. I insisted that it was an emergency... If they could call me if there was any cancellation... Or if they could ask the doctor if it was ok to wait for a week based on his symptoms. They just didn't seem to care about my kitten, didn't offer any advice and the lady I spoke with was rude. At this point I was already feeling insecure about Milo. Do you really want to have an emergency, call the vet clinic that you chose because you though was the best one and have them basically say to you: 'Fuck off, I don't care about you or your pet.'? I decided to think that the situation was just an isolated bad experience. Because my cat was acting normal besides the scratchy voice would be ok to wait for an appointment for the next week (not that Milo told me that, I read online and received advices on kittens group I am part of LOL). So I booked my kitten at Milo's... Worried I was making a bad decision to wait a week to take my kitten to the vet. On the next week I got there for the 11AM appointment that they booked for me... They made me wait for 40 minutes outside, with my kitten in a 90 degrees sun. Only to tell me that I did not have an appointment... My name wasn't book for anything that week... And again they couldn't do anything to help me. That I might have been mistaken cz they didn't book me anything. Yeah. That's it. They don't care about your pet. They just want your money. If you are looking for a place that worries about your pet, If you are looking for a place you can trust, I don't think Milo is your place. I had to call an urgent vet to come to my house because I didn't want to stress my kitten anymore... This costed me a lot of money and time... And this is a photo of my kitten with sad Disney cartoon eyes really disappointed with Milo's service...

I've had pets all my life but this is my first time as a pet owner. I had seen the window decals for a new place called Milo on S5 and it reminded me of the branding you'd see for your favorite DTC brands like Warby Parker or Everlane. Since I needed a vet for my cat, I decided to give it a try. Despite being super nervous, the staff at Milo went above and beyond to provide an excellent experience, especially with COVID. The website is simple and transparent on what services they offer, including those outside of the standard visit like telemedicine and texting. You can book a visit by texting their number directly (347) 305-2846. In my case, I texted them on a Thursday afternoon about doing a standard wellness check for my cat and they responded within minutes. I made an appointment for that Saturday morning, which was a pleasant surprise. Milo is open 7 days a week. I asked them how much it would all cost and they broke it down right then and there. For a check up, 2 vaccines, a fecal test, and heartworm/flea meds, it was around $240. When you show up to your appointment, you'll call/text them and someone will greet you outside to ask you some questions about your pet's behavior and routine, ask you to sign a waiver stating they can bring your pet inside, and put your credit card on file so checkout is super simple. A vet tech who did all of this for me was super super kind and completed it within a couple minutes. She said the whole appointment would take about 20 minutes, but the vet would call me in 10 before doing anything just to talk to me and make sure I'm good with the plan. I was nervous when I arrived but felt so much better after talking to her. There are some chairs outside the office so you can sit and wait, but Butler is next door so you can grab some coffee and pastries. After taking my kitty inside for a few minutes, Dr. Wellington called my phone to tell me my kitty was a pleasure and to answer any questions I had. I spent about 10 minutes on the phone with her and never once felt like I was an irritation or taking up her time with my erratic questions. Dr. Wellington then went over what vaccinations and tests they recommended running, and the price of each, which again was nice to hear. She also offered a more comprehensive blood/urine check but didn't push it on me or try to sell it to me. She wanted me to know my options. After we were both on the same page, about 5 minutes later, the same vet tech brought me my cat with a goodie bag and explained everything that had happened, as well how they would be following up. This included the vaccine records and an invoice sent directly to my email. No paperwork necessary. All in all, it was an exceptional experience and I can't recommend Milo enough. It's a very tech forward, efficient, and made me feel SO much better by the end of it. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else after this.

I want to start this review by acknowledging I have only given 3 negative reviews in 15 years. My dog has gone to the same groomer in this neighborhood for 11 years and went to Felton Veterinary (which I paid top dollar for, it's still NYC) for 10 years (before they lost their lease due to gentrification and bigger corporations coming to the neighborhood). I have spent over 6k with Milo over the last 18 months. I started to spend a lot with Milo back in July when my dog's kidney failure started flaring up. Dr Tsang was wonderful with her treatment. Because the bills began to significantly rack up, I began to really pay attention to each line item and started noticing a lot of inconsistencies. Milo notes on all bills when they comp things, and because Venya was going so often, at times, they did partially comp the (insane) $79 exam fee (why would you need to examine her so often when she is coming for re-tests and treatments multiple times, sometimes back-to-back). A few thousand in, I began to question why these exam fees were still being included when she was recently seen and explained I could truly only afford to check her kidney values. The office manager could not explain why she would need to be 'examined' so often. We actually got into an argument and she informed me she has company goals to make a certain amount of money--then came a guilt trip about how I was putting my dog at risk for not doing an examination again (despite just having one!). So I had to deal with these fees, just to re-check and check her kidney values periodically to see what state the disease was at. Fast forward to purchasing her medical grade food and supplies from Chewy or Petco where they often offer deals. I inputted Milo as the approving vet and then received a very strange email from Milo. It informed me to finish I needed to process the order through them. I then got got an odd text stating they sent me this email and to finish processing the order through them. After clearing up my confusion it appears this was an attempt to mislead me and get me to buy the products through them instead of Chewy or Petco - wild! Two visits ago I wanted her kidneys re-checked and was very hopeful to not pay the exam fee since she just had these tests done 3 weeks prior. Again, no one could accurately explain or justify all the costs. I asked to speak to her DR and was told I would not be permitted to speak to Dr Tsang (all I wanted was to better understand the procedures) without paying a consultant fee (!). The nerve, I think I had spent 5k at this point and was told I couldn't even have a two minute phone conversation with my dog's DR without paying! I actually complained to their corporate office after these two incidents, to which I was placated and informed how busy they were due to the pandemic. Awesome! You're not in any dyer need of more business (or more money), so why the need to overcharge time and again? How crazy are your goals? Last weekend I went out of town and needed Milo to take care of fluid IV treatments I actually do, normally, daily on my own. I was quoted months previous I could bring her daily for around $45 a visit. I wound up learning to do it myself (and guess what? The supplies cost around $30 for 30+ single treatments!). When I went out of town last weekend I asked to schedule a fluid treatment both Saturday and Sunday. I received an email quote of around $75 to which I assumed was for both days (thats the service I asked for, both days!). After the first day I received a text message asking to charge $75 for the single day. I was shocked and went back through old bills where I was charged $59 for the fluid treatment + medication one time. And then I went through this bill, $39 for a DR to examine and administer the fluids by trained DR (not a tech or assistant, the DR). Which was news to me since I have a video in my phone of two nurse techs (no DR is even in the room) administering the fluids to my dog (COVID times, I was able to video in). So, you don't need a DR to do these treatments and you just saw her 2-3 weeks prior when I dropped close to $400 costs and fees to just have her kidney values re-checked! I then called the Greenpoint Milo and was told the treatment would be between $30-$60 per day based on how well or recent they had seen the pet. So where on earth does this $75 a day come from? So, of course I asked about the costs and sent in proof something seemed off. The wildest part - instead of hearing me out and fixing all the price discrepancies I was told by Dr Tsang they would NO LONGER be willing to see my dog or treat her. My dog is 16 years old, it's so important to go to the same care for background etc given her failing kidneys. And, on top of all of this, 5 days after disputing the bill this company had the nerve to refuse to refill my 16 YO dog's RX, she has kidney failure and they were literally willing to hurt my dog out of spite towards me. Do NOT go here.

They were dishonest from the beginning and were condescending on the phones. I'm not a Karen but they literally just want to get you in by luring lower prices but then charge you like crazy once you're in. Never going there ever again.

Baby girl was discharged in howling pain, which was traumatic for my sister who had retrieved her. She had to return her to demand appropriate pain management for the dog as she was only given gabapentin and Rimadyl (doggie Advil). Even women who have cesarean sections are given strong analgesia for at least 3 days postoperatively. My baby suffered for days. I called the office the following day to get information regarding her diet going forward, as bladder stones can definitely recur. Not only was I not given any information, but I was merely switched to another person who just asked for my financials to make payment for the "extra (much needed) meds." I was given a generic receipt, so my insurance denied the payment, and I was NEVER given the invoice for the surgery, which was almost 3k and paid in full up front. I sent an email requesting the invoice, and to date they refused to respond, so I will not be able to submit for the reimbursement. When my son called the office he was told that they "didn't know" about the insurance- even though it is on file. Although they claim they will submit, I don't have much faith that they will. Further, why was this not handled from the beginning before they tortured my baby? If a human patient is treated this way there are patient advocates & lawyers promptly involved. I guess things are different in Veterinary Medicine.... But animals deserve compassionate care, too. Some people love their pets more than their spouses. In addition, pet parents should be counseled regarding the operative course, what to expect, and how to manage their pets post-operatively at home. My family, and especially my dog, were traumatized by this experience. This vet got good reviews on Yelp for some reason; maybe they are acceptable for routine well care visits and minor illnesses. But if you have a pet with serious illness or require invasive or surgical intervention I encourage you to seek another Veterinary practice.

He not only put my Leia's needs front and center but his care and compassion for the pet's companions, I can't say we're owners, was above and beyond. He gave my girl five more good years of life. Dealt with all my stupid questions and emails with patience and care. And he was here to gently ease her on her way. Anyone who needs a vet to take care of their furbaby. Please reach out to him. You can not find better.

Dr. L. suggested antiacids (tiny dose) and it did the trick!! Of course, just to keep me on my toes, Cookie does still have the very rare upchuck. Dr. L and Henry come here and all is good. What a blessing - no terror stricken rides to the vet. I feel so grateful to him. Emily is the other secret weapon ... she is incredibly kind. I couldn't recommend him more.

I'm still waiting to receive a copy of the SOAP notes from my visit one week ago, having emailed about it several times. During our years with Dr. Loose, she's diagnosed and treated issues that we believe that other lesser vets would have missed. Dr. Loose combines talent and true love for animals. Her compassion is unmatched. As great as the office is, the staff is even better. Everyone is polite, caring, sensitive and friendly. It's really a pleasure to bring an animal to Dr. Loose. Dr. Loose is the perfect combination of respecting the client's wishes, but being firm with her guidance when she sees benefit for the animal. For example, we didn't want to take a certain vaccination, but Dr. Loose made the point about the risks in our area, and we went with her guidance. We were glad that she made things clear. Even more amazing is that Dr. Loose continues to price her services very fairly. The value is just terrific. We are on our third puppy under Dr. Loose's care, and we wouldn't take him anywhere else.
